Tennis courts were too crowded and people were playing pickle ball in tennis courts making it harder for actual tennis players to play.

There should be a few more pickleball courts. Too often, it seems that there are several groups waiting to get onto a court.

There's also a scouting activity area that looked interesting and seems to be for scouting troops to have campfires and outdoor activities. Technically there's also a hummingbird garden but unless you parked in a specific spot or know where to look, you'd miss it as its small and tucked in a far corner. While small, it is nice (aside from the pile of cigarette butts some jrrk left) with some nice plants, a short walking path, and a water feature. It has a lot of desert plants but I was surprised not to see more spring flowers this time of year. The park is nice and the water seemed clean and not smelly, but I wish we had more areas of denser vegetation like the hummingbird area to walk around in. It does seem pretty well kept up and I noticed several newer desert willows growing. At 8 am on a spring Sunday, it was busy with people walking, fishing, at the playground, and doing tai Chi, but parking wasn't an issue.

Though the play area needs a bit of maintenance, the kids love the variety of play equipments available. There is a lake with ducks near by which is a big hit among Kids. We have tried the train ride and it's pretty cute. Unlike other parks it's good long train ride. Overall a good large park, this is like an OG in chandler.

This is by far one of my son's fav parks we have been too in the past year or so. Only downside to this park is that there is absolutely No bathroom even remotely close within walking distance. So if you need to go you gotta bolt out of there in your vehicle unless you are fortunate to live close by to run to and from. Not the case for us so lots of whining about leaving. Other than that this is in our top 5 local parks.

There are two ways to get up, scale a vertical wall or climb a ladder. Neither of these are friendly for small or young kids and they will need help getting up. On Island 2 there is a roller slide and young kids can get up here. In the same area there is also fake rocks connected with "spider webs" and two zipcords - one rope and one chair. All in all my 5yr old can do it all without assistance but the 3yr old needs help. The second playground are is geared towards smaller kids and has one slide. There is also a field to play ball games or fly kites. A pickleball court and a basketball court. Swings and two ramadas. In all, not a bad little park. -1 star for the entire place being limiting for littles.

Gilbert Regional Park is near my house and it's a great spot to workout, play, or relax…read more It features many sport courts- pickleball, tennis, volleyball and basketball. While there's a lot of pickleball courts, I've seen them full with a queue to play. I haven't seen this with the tennis courts or other sport courts. There's a playground with a play structure, swings, slides, a zip-line and more. It's on a hill so there's multiple levels to play on. There's a large splash pad for older children and a separate area for younger children, so less likely your toddler gets run over by a pre-teen not paying attention. The one drawback is there's not a lot of shady places to hide from the blistering summer sun. There's a large grass field but it's sloped and thus not useful for playing flag football or soccer. I believe it's built that way to watch performances at the pavilion. If there are flat grass fields at this park, I have yet to find them; they would be a welcome addition. At the end of the park there's a lake with a walking path around it. The largest ramada is on the lakefront and looks to 100-150 people. They have smaller ramadas around to rent as well. Overall, Gilbert Regional Park is a nice clean new park with many amenities. Everything is still in good working condition and there's a lot of open space where everyone isn't concentrated into a small area.

I love the lake and large open grass area, but please plant more trees! In the summer this park is…read moreuseless for dogs/people with absolutely no shade
