Nice Park With A Couple Duck Ponds, Soccer Fields, Swings and Volleyball and Basketball Courts This was our first visit to discovery Park. We realized there was another park with some duckponds to feed the ducks which is my son's favorite activity and thought we would check it out. There are a couple nice duckpond's with some trees and reeds and other vegetation to make for a little oasis in the desert. The ducks are very friendly here if you bring a Ziploc bag full of birdseed they will come right up and eat it out of your hand! There are some nice shaded picnic table areas for having a little snack. Also some volleyball and basketball courts if you want to play. There are some swings and big soccer fields down below as well. Tons of parking makes for an easy trip here. All in all another Great Park brought to you by the city of Gilbert.

Close parking lot with plenty of spaces

Fun clean playground, especially great for ages 18 months+. Climbing poles and big rock for older kids too. Fully covered. Plenty of walking trails. Bathroom right next to playground. Parking lot is right next to the playground.

Ducks, swans, geese, & plenty of their tree-top friends!

Why have so many people forgotten the beauty of their local parks? I have mentioned this place to so many people who seem to not even know it exists! Beautifully landscaped & lots of parking close to the picnic tables. A good group of small but shady trees - perfect for napping or reading or napping :) A nice water feature that makes for great bird landings - I saw ducks and geese (or pheasant or flamingos - I'm not really a bird person) splashing about to keep cool on a late summer day in 2012. Now that we've made it through half the winter, I'm looking ahead to more, ahem, reading in the shade!

Fun in the splash pad! Great park for kids all ages!

Fun splash pad and covered play area for my 16 month old son to burn some energy. They also have a train and carousel for kids to enjoy. Lots of fun, bring a lunch and enjoy the time outdoors.

The hills down to the soccer fields on the west side of the park are amazing for ice blocking too.

Offers different signs to learn about wildlife and how to be safe. I came in early morning in mid-October and the weather was amazing. In the morning it was about 60 degrees. The park was active: people walking the trails, fishing, several people walking their dogs and there was a group of people with their dogs getting dog training classes. The park still offers plenty of space to enjoy your time outdoors.

Our favorite is going around the scenic loop around water, spotting the ducks, geese and the birds. There are so many exotic Birds specially during the spring, it's a sight. The wildflowers are beautiful and the large trees create a perfect canopy during the summer. We love biking and hiking too, this park has a cute little waterfall and is a favorite among photographers for shoots. There are programs offered in the community center for the kids for summer break and also activities with nature which is nice specially since it's involved with nature. There is also a nice display and tribute to the veterans with some installation arts. This place is worth a visit and wish there were some kids play structure to add to the beauty.

    Gilbert Regional Park

Gilbert Regional Park is near my house and it's a great spot to workout, play, or relax…read more It features many sport courts- pickleball, tennis, volleyball and basketball. While there's a lot of pickleball courts, I've seen them full with a queue to play. I haven't seen this with the tennis courts or other sport courts. There's a playground with a play structure, swings, slides, a zip-line and more. It's on a hill so there's multiple levels to play on. There's a large splash pad for older children and a separate area for younger children, so less likely your toddler gets run over by a pre-teen not paying attention. The one drawback is there's not a lot of shady places to hide from the blistering summer sun. There's a large grass field but it's sloped and thus not useful for playing flag football or soccer. I believe it's built that way to watch performances at the pavilion. If there are flat grass fields at this park, I have yet to find them; they would be a welcome addition. At the end of the park there's a lake with a walking path around it. The largest ramada is on the lakefront and looks to 100-150 people. They have smaller ramadas around to rent as well. Overall, Gilbert Regional Park is a nice clean new park with many amenities. Everything is still in good working condition and there's a lot of open space where everyone isn't concentrated into a small area.

Very clean and so much fun!!…read more There's a toddler area and a big kid jungle gym. Also a fantastic splash pad that is fenced in. It gets really busy though. Go early in the morning to beat the crowds (I think we were there by 9, it got busy by 10).
