This park has been near my home for several years. It's really big and well maintained. It has multi-use fields, shaded playgrounds, tennis and volleyball courts, restrooms, and walking trails. I have been to many picnics over the years under the large shaded pavilion. The Tumbleweed Recreation Center is also located here for local Chandler residents. Tumbleweed Park is home to the popular Ostrich Fesitival and an annual 4th of July firework show. I have ran quite a few 5K running events here too. The annual Thanksgiving run is one of my favorites. During the COVID pandemic summer of 2020, Tumbleweed Park became my place to stay active when indoor gyms shut down. I will always appreicate this park for providing me with a place to help me get through that tough season.

First time visiting tumbleweed Park in Arizona This park is huge and has ample fields to play sports. There is paved paths for walking and a beautiful playground for young and old alike.

Sun sets everyday. How many times we had the time to enjoy it. It was a idle lazy afternoon we decided to take a stroll in this park. Few people were roaming in the park due to cold weather. The grasses lost its green luster and leafless tresses were standing with a depressed mood. Rain in the morning left few puddles here and there. Birds started returning to their nests. Darkness started to fall upon the park. But all these were surpassed by the beautiful and colorful sunset. The western sky was depicted with beautiful hues of yellow, orange and red. The abstract painting of Mother Nature reflected on the crystal still water made my day. The park is very convenient for the local people. Lot of sitting places with play areas for the kids. Come here and enjoy the nature. Stop for a moment and smell the roses. Life is short, but you can make it enjoyable and worth living.

Pretty big park and well maintained. This is probably one of the best park I've been to. I come here to take a walk with my family and sometimes we'll have a picnic. There's several playgrounds for the kids so it gives the parents to choose where to take their kids to explore and play. The only thing I hope it can be better is the bathroom. There's low or no supplies to use and the air dryer doesn't work. I feel safe going to this park because there's usually a Park Ranger or a Police vehicle park here.

    Tennis anywhere. Tumbleweed.

A spacious, well equipped park and tennis center on the edge of metro-Phoenix area. Or, it USED to be on the edge. When 1st built about 20 years ago, one would see and smell sheep grazing immediately outside the court fence. Cool and not cool dependent upon the wind direction. After building the tennis facility, the city contracted out operations. Unfortunately the venue was ahead if it's time. Meaning urban sprawl had not creeped to this far location. Thus, the venue struggled thru two separate contractors, both good. Now, the city has taken control of the facility. NOTE: Read my other numerous reviews for tips, entertainment, and history. Thank you, Tim B.

This children's play area of the park is called Playtopia. The park has one of the best play areas that we've taken our 2-year-old to. They have over 2 acres of playground areas. This is the only place we've seen a zip line seat for toddlers. We love the farm-themed barn feel and its one of the few parks that are covered by a permanent structure (most have shades that partially shade the playgrounds). That can be an issue in the hot Arizona sun. Going scorched slide is no fun! They have plenty of covered picnic areas too. One weekend when we were here we saw soccer, tennis, and zorbing going on. I have no idea why the zorbing set up was there. There is a rec center here too. However, we never made it there. Also, check out the Arizona Railway Museum in the view from the park. (FYI, they're only open 12-4 on weekends. They close for the hot season so call ahead).

Lots of options for kids to burn that sugar high off.

I've only been here for soccer practice and games but this place has an abundance to offer recreationally. Soccer, football, lacrosse, baseball, softball, basketball, walking and running paths. For those with kids waiting or attending a siblings event, they have an incredible playground that makes me wish I was a kid again. Covered shelters for picnics with grills if you bring the charcoal. The restrooms are nice and clean. The fields are kept in great condition and well maintained. Fields have lights so many teams can take advantage of getting out of the baking heat in the summer. Overall this is a great ball park for all. For day games bring your pop up tent and sunscreen.

Tumbleweed is the coolest regional park and I feel so fortunate to live so close by to it! They have an indoor rec center as well as plenty of open fields and walking paths to suit your activity no matter the season. They also put on some pretty awesome community events here. I've been going as a tradition to the 4th of July celebration since 2010 and haven't thought about going anywhere else! Who needs the crazy crowds of Tempe Town Lake when you've got great fireworks and talented local artists performing? I definitely recommend you visit this park!

Great for watching sunsets, and lots of concrete pathways to enjoy a good morning or evening walk. Plenty of grass for picnics or a football game amongst friends

Parking is good as well, except during large events such as the Ostrich Festival and the 4th of July fireworks.

Our favorite is going around the scenic loop around water, spotting the ducks, geese and the birds. There are so many exotic Birds specially during the spring, it's a sight. The wildflowers are beautiful and the large trees create a perfect canopy during the summer. We love biking and hiking too, this park has a cute little waterfall and is a favorite among photographers for shoots. There are programs offered in the community center for the kids for summer break and also activities with nature which is nice specially since it's involved with nature. There is also a nice display and tribute to the veterans with some installation arts. This place is worth a visit and wish there were some kids play structure to add to the beauty.

There's also a scouting activity area that looked interesting and seems to be for scouting troops to have campfires and outdoor activities. Technically there's also a hummingbird garden but unless you parked in a specific spot or know where to look, you'd miss it as its small and tucked in a far corner. While small, it is nice (aside from the pile of cigarette butts some jrrk left) with some nice plants, a short walking path, and a water feature. It has a lot of desert plants but I was surprised not to see more spring flowers this time of year. The park is nice and the water seemed clean and not smelly, but I wish we had more areas of denser vegetation like the hummingbird area to walk around in. It does seem pretty well kept up and I noticed several newer desert willows growing. At 8 am on a spring Sunday, it was busy with people walking, fishing, at the playground, and doing tai Chi, but parking wasn't an issue.

Gilbert Regional Park is near my house and it's a great spot to workout, play, or relax…read more It features many sport courts- pickleball, tennis, volleyball and basketball. While there's a lot of pickleball courts, I've seen them full with a queue to play. I haven't seen this with the tennis courts or other sport courts. There's a playground with a play structure, swings, slides, a zip-line and more. It's on a hill so there's multiple levels to play on. There's a large splash pad for older children and a separate area for younger children, so less likely your toddler gets run over by a pre-teen not paying attention. The one drawback is there's not a lot of shady places to hide from the blistering summer sun. There's a large grass field but it's sloped and thus not useful for playing flag football or soccer. I believe it's built that way to watch performances at the pavilion. If there are flat grass fields at this park, I have yet to find them; they would be a welcome addition. At the end of the park there's a lake with a walking path around it. The largest ramada is on the lakefront and looks to 100-150 people. They have smaller ramadas around to rent as well. Overall, Gilbert Regional Park is a nice clean new park with many amenities. Everything is still in good working condition and there's a lot of open space where everyone isn't concentrated into a small area.
