What a nice clean park that was being widely used. Men had gathered on a portion of the park to play horseshoes. Behind the horseshoe area I could see an old locomotive. The park is very green and kept up nicely. Lots of shady areas to picnic and park. Restrooms available too.

Really big and cool park. Brought my son who is 1, he loved the splash pad and swings. Lots of structures to explore when he's older! Lots of covered areas with benches for events as well which was cool. It was busy but we still found parking pretty easily. Convenient location too since it's downtown Mesa area. Would for sure come back to explore more!

Awesome Park! Lots of grass space and space with shade away from everyone too!

Such a nice park! We got to see the ducks they were so beautiful. The park has things for everyone, such a great time.

I'm not big on the area however, it's a wide-open park which is good as it makes it easy to transport from your car to your preferred area within the park. I went here to feed the unfortunate and it broke my heart to see that there were so many sleeping and hanging out here, especially in this heat! There's plenty of free parking! It's located close to lots of businesses all within walking distance. I would only go here to hand out water and food but that's just me and my preference. I have no other words but to tell everyone to be grateful for what you have.

Great Park, Homeless Problems, But Nice Park. The playground here is pretty great! +1 extra star: Huge and awesome slides with climbing to get your to. Fun for all ages. Cool swings and even a double swing my son loves! The splash pad is clean but could use a bit more going on, potential is there but just some spray up features and homeless wile bathing.... - 2 stars: The only issue is there are so many homeless people which means it feels like you need to be on guard watching over the whole area while the kids are playing. We have now moved far far away and will remember our times here fondly....

Great! Really fun for our eight year old. There's some very cool things she can climb up to and explore. Only complaint is that it's not fenced and that's only because my four-year-old loves to run away from everywhere lol. Really clean bathrooms all in all great time.

Wonderful park! I grew up in Phoenix and we never had anything close to Pioneer Park as a kid. My family and I were in town for a wedding and my 5YO is all about the light rail so I did what any good dad would do. We took the 1hr + light rail from uptown to Main Street Mesa. Pro tip - not a fun ride with a mask on. Expect beard dent The park was clean, there was a large group of serious horseshoe players playing in the dedicated horseshoe courts (woah). The bathrooms were clean until a woman experiencing homelessness and mental illness decided to bath in there while smoking. The train was cool for a moment like all trains are that don't move. The splash pad was operational but had a partial fence around it. The playground though, OMG that was rad. I've only seen a few playgrounds this good around the country and I've been to several. It's amazing. Pro tip - kids should be 5YO or older for the playground. It's easy to get lost in there and it's freaken HUGE so much so that if you're chasing them around much you really need to watch your head. Felt very safe and yes there were a few people experiencing homelessness which for Phoenix it's a lot and knowing Phoenix people, that will freak them out. Having lived in Austin and spending extended time in San Francisco and LA I'd say Phoenix is ahead of the curve here. I don't expect most Phoenicians to understand that since most are void of empathy, entitled and ignorant. Otherwise, it's a good mix of people and a fun playground. As always, expect to melt come June-October

It's a great fun park with tons to do but definitely not for younger kids. We had our 3 and 2 year old with us and it was very nerve wracking watching them closely using the equipment. There is signs posted stating it's more for 5 years and up kids with good coordination skills. Super fun though!

It's a great park. Perfect for older children. Definitely not toddler friendly but they do have an awesome splash pad.

Does this park have regular swings?

Yes on the very northwest corner.

If it's a public park why is it closed Sundays ? Wanted to go today but it says closed

Offers different signs to learn about wildlife and how to be safe. I came in early morning in mid-October and the weather was amazing. In the morning it was about 60 degrees. The park was active: people walking the trails, fishing, several people walking their dogs and there was a group of people with their dogs getting dog training classes. The park still offers plenty of space to enjoy your time outdoors.

Our favorite is going around the scenic loop around water, spotting the ducks, geese and the birds. There are so many exotic Birds specially during the spring, it's a sight. The wildflowers are beautiful and the large trees create a perfect canopy during the summer. We love biking and hiking too, this park has a cute little waterfall and is a favorite among photographers for shoots. There are programs offered in the community center for the kids for summer break and also activities with nature which is nice specially since it's involved with nature. There is also a nice display and tribute to the veterans with some installation arts. This place is worth a visit and wish there were some kids play structure to add to the beauty.
