On a late afternoon weekday there were quite a few young people upstairs using weights. They don't have the latest machines but they do the job. They also have a 1/12 of a mile track that is adequate for walking or short distances. There's racquetball and Basketball courts that are also for volleyball and pickleball. In the middle is a small climbing wall that is often busy. There's also ping pong and Foosball tables. They also offer Classes like zumba and yoga; the yoga class was okay but the instructor could have been friendlier to everyone, not just certain people. They have reasonable prices compared to regular gyms and offer resident and nonresident daily passes. Staff was very friendly. Too bad there's no pool!

Fitlot is a national nonprofit that helps parks program their equipment. So there's a QR code on equipment for more info to connect to their website AND there are visuals on equipment that show how to use it. I didn't understand how this park could possibly be on 150 acres! then I found a bridge that crosses over the canal & leads to the east side of the park w/ more soccer fields. So yeah this park is humongous! The only thing it doesn't have is a skate park. I think they could integrate that in to the design since there IS so much room. There are signs saying skateboarding is not allowed. Which makes sense when there's not a dedicated space, But skateboarding has become popular for people of all ages, so can yall update? This is a pretty nice city park with multiple parking lots, a walking path around a "lake", lots of…read moregreen space, seating, and a playground. There's also a scouting activity area that looked interesting and seems to be for scouting troops to have campfires and outdoor activities. Technically there's also a hummingbird garden but unless you parked in a specific spot or know where to look, you'd miss it as its small and tucked in a far corner. While small, it is nice (aside from the pile of cigarette butts some jrrk left) with some nice plants, a short walking path, and a water feature. It has a lot of desert plants but I was surprised not to see more spring flowers this time of year. The park is nice and the water seemed clean and not smelly, but I wish we had more areas of denser vegetation like the hummingbird area to walk around in. It does seem pretty well kept up and I noticed several newer desert willows growing. At 8 am on a spring Sunday, it was busy with people walking, fishing, at the playground, and doing tai Chi, but parking wasn't an issue.

Drove all the way around building to the C building in the parking lot that was designated to the restaurant as we hadn't walked in the ball game yet.(which was super far)... started walking towards the gate that was open and a security guard stops to tell us we have to walk all the way around to the front to go in. (He was on a cart and didn't offer to drive us just flat out said no). We asked if we could sneak by him and still said no... there wasn't a sole in sight. (He could've physically escorted us but instead, stuck on the word "no" to walk around the full building). Hospitality runs in every industry. There are families who are willing to spend money ONSITE if you could get your signage together for clear communication for the people who would spend dollars and also, for some better customer service. It's not my fault you have poor signage. But when you have people willing to spend, and not ONE customer around... you should welcome them. That's how business works... Instead, he drove over to the baseball field where I saw him again. Sitting and looking at his phone... I hope that works out well for him.... I would be pissed if one of my employees got paid to sit on their phone and turn business away. Mr. Security Guard... your wages are paid by people who spend at your facilities. Considering I spend a fortune on baseball and also spend a fortune with my cheerleading company that comes to compete at this facility, I think you should go educate yourself on treating people well. (especially when it's SO hot outside)... a little kindness goes a long way. Also, if you want to "follow rules"... ask your supervisor if scrolling is a part of the job title. As for me, I will better prepare myself this weekend (as I have to be here for 3 more days) so I don't have to spend $1 of my hard earned money there.
