I begrudgingly am writing this review because Arize is like a secret Caribbean beach and by posting this review, it may become difficult to get a seat when I want to come and eat. A group of us came to Arize and almost drove by the location. We walked in and were greeted and seated almost immediately. It's nothing fancy because the food and flavors speak for themselves. The food was great! The flavors, textures, and mixtures of Caribbean deliciousness all in my belly and tummy! Anywho, don't go ruining my new go to breakfast spot. That is all
I dined in using DoorDash so will lean on the side of the restaurant in rating a 4 instead of 3 to factor not eating directly from kitchen to table. I ordered a breakfast bowl of grits, scrambled cheese eggs and turkey sausage along with coco bread. The grits were not to my best liking; however, I am from the south so a grit snob and it takes adjusting when not the traditional taste. Eggs and coco bread were ok but turkey sausage was dry (again attributing to delivery versus eating onsite). Will need to try in person to be fair.
Had Jiu Jitsu competition to attend and needed some breakfast fuel. Randomly drive into a place where stumbled among a GEM!!! Arize is an American breakfast spot with Caribbean influence. Arize Is a small cafe with absolutely delicious food choices with big flavor. I had The Jamaican with curry grits (which they allowed me to sample prior to ordering) and added a pancake. It's took 12 minutes for my food to come out and they entire time my waitress DESTINY was attentive to not just me but all patrons. There was a large group to my right and a mother and son to my left- everyone was praising the food, coffee and the service they received. They added an 18% gratuity, so be prepared. I will defiantly be coming back... this might be my new quaint spot. Thanks Arize
We love Arize. Always good & kind service, plenty of parking and delicious meals. Nevera long wait, like most brunch spots in the area. Open seating for families or small parties, cool place with modest decor. I've never had something I didn't like and there are several vegetarian options.
The Jamaican Omelette and Curry Grits were amazing! Jaa, our waiter, was attentive, amazing and friendly! The music and atmosphere made this visit even better! Definitely recommend this place for some great grub! I will definitely be coming back again!
Had the opportunity to meet the owner while getting some business work done somewhere else last night, came to eat breakfast this morning and was impressed! The atmosphere, the attitude of the wait staff and the awesome food was worth it! I'll definitely be back to eat here again soon! Looking forward to seeing more Arize!
What a lovely little place. It has cute things on the wall. It is clean! Our server was amazing and super attentive. The food was delicious!!! I love the curry grits and my catfish was seasoned very well and cooked to perfection.
It's a no for me. Came here for breakfast as recommended by a friend. They serve breakfast with a Jamaican twist. I asked to have my overcooked pancake replaced, one of the servers took it back (it was charred / burnt on the bottom which impacts the taste), only to bring out a more charred pancake....dang, these folk gave me a hard middle finger (without giving me the middle finger). The owner comes over to inquire about the pancake situation and he let me know that I get what I get...dang double middle finger. I have worked in a restaurant and have dined out a lot in my lifetime. This was a first for me. And hopefully the last time this kind of disregard happens. We do not have to agree but you can be more professional. I did not ask to be comped and I was not looking for a discount. Just edible food that I paid for. On a positive note, our server was awesome. I am praying for him to be freed from such a nasty boss. I will not be back.
Tbh I should have been wrote this , but today did it . I order to go today and it made me want to write . I order shrimp and grits Cajun style and for 25.75 this is totally not appreciated and yes it's good but not that good . Black owned have def lost my support in this type situations . And for them to sell me half a coco bread for a breakfast sandwhich is simply stealing , how you cut coco bread in half I'm like dang if your charge me for the high quality food give me all of the food not half . I'm so probably not going back and I liked this spot at one time now I'm perplexed after ordering to go because I was on the go back to work mode . Now I've been here a few times and it's good but I guess it took for me to see how they handle the Togo for me not to go back . 39.16 which includes a 12% gratuity for takeout smh and that's crcrazy but not as crazy as others I've seen but I expected more from this spot but hey you live and learn . Service is great and ambiance but them numbers would make Stevie Wonder wonder .

The folks here checked off my boxes for cleanliness, friendliness, and "food tastes goodingness". I am indeed a germophobe and Covid didn't make it any better. At entry I saw the notices for covid safety and hand sanitizer etc. At entry I was greeted immediately and it was genuine. All too often we find ourselves in places just rolling the wheel if you will --- and a friend of mine had already said the food was good. Originally I was going to order to go but I felt comfortable all of a sudden like my uncle was talking to me and I sat on down. As a Charleston native, I know good grits and my goodness I saw the ladies next to me order the Curry Grits. It threw me a little bit but when I tell you I enjoyed every grit in the bowl! My eggs were cooked perfectly and I'm not sure why it's so hard to get a good over hard egg? Like can anybody answer that for me??? I also had the sweet potato pancakes. They were fluffy and tasty as well. There are several things I intend to swing back by to try and probably update this review or add another. Overall I can say I was pleased to be here and support another local small business. I will continue to spread the word and bring my folks when on that side of town.
This restaurant is Black Owned, located in College Park inside of the Camp Creek Market Place. Its a small spot maybe about 20 ppl could sit inside. The place was clean, sanitizer on the counter, they cleaned the tables as customers left. The staff wore masks, mask are required inside as well. The host greeted me upon entry & the server greeted me quickly as I sat down, the place only had about 5pp seated & it was around 930am on a Wednesday. Now lets talk about the food.. this place states it has Jamaican food, that is not the case, it has Jamaican inspired food. If you are looking for traditional Jamaican food then this is not the restaurant for you. The waffles were undercooked with a doughy-like texture inside. I informed the server and it was replaced with the 2nd waffle pic you see & I had the same issue. The eggs & sausage were both good, nothing to brag about. I was definitely not happy about the doughy waffle, However, I will return because my first choice was to get the CocoBread w/peaches. Im giving them 4 stars even though the food was ok, the customer service was good & customer service is everything... the waffle was replaced and was then removed from my check without having to mention it. Oh yeah let me tell you about the Vanilla Cognac sauce, I thought it was going to be like a syrup instead it was thick like a custard. It was served warm, it was good & I did dip a few pieces of the waffle, I was expecting to pour it like syrup nonetheless it was a good flavor. Parking- Free No outside seating Moderately priced under $20
Service was great. Our waitress, the beautiful young woman with braids( sorry never got her name) was super friendly, made some great suggestions and took our order right away. Food came out fairly quickly and we started with the French toast bites that are made with hard dough bread. Yummy and addictive! My companion had the salmon patties with eggs and grits and I had the omelette. Food is a good portion, and tasty. Nice to get food that is well prepared and seasoned. Didn't even need salt and pepper. They also have a selection of fresh juices which I always try. Nice local spot which I encourage you to try! read more

Let's get into this review. For my customers service people the place was nice, clean tables, waitress was prompt with a mix of r&b music in the background. Food: The Jamaican Pros: Food arrived hot and well seasoned. I didn't need to add any additional seasonings. Cons: For my taste the Jerk chicken in this omelet didn't have any kick. It was more of a sweet and tangy. If you are seeking more of a kick in flavors like you know jerk chicken offers this would not be the item for you. The potatoes were well seasoned and chopped and diced. My conclusion is I will support this business again soon. read more

We stumbled upon Arize as we were walking around The Market. Luckily, we beat the lunch rush. We were seated immediately by friendly staff. It was quite busy. We both ordered the signature Arize breakfast. Eggs, bacon and potatoes. Sounds simple, but they dressed it up nicely. Toasted bun and jam on the side as well. We were also offered a complimentary bowl of grits to share. I don't usually like grits, but this dish was fantastic. I only let my husband have 1 bite. They did not have any decaf coffee on offer, so we drank ice water. The service was fast!! We ate with gusto and paid up so the ever growing queue could enjoy as well. I overhead a regular telling the server that she always orders the same thing, but she's ready to try new menu items. I am definitely coming here again when I visit Atlanta. read more

First of all, the food is delicious. Love that they make their bread, pancakes, and waffles with coconut milk. It adds a sweetness that is delicious. The owner gave us a sampling of all the grits, which were amazing. Highly recommend. read more

I ordered a tea but they had none when my Dasher arrived. I asked for a coffee instead and they said just to ask for a refund since it was more expensive.. Come on now..you shouldn't have sold me a tea you didn't have, let alone try to upcharge me after your own shortcoming...that said, the jerk chicken omlette and curry grits were out of this world, so I sort of forgot about the service failure lol read more
A hidden gem. I tried the Jamaican omelette and it was perfect. It was cheesy, savory and the plantain added a sweetness to it. Unexpectedly, it made the omelette even better. The best thing I love about the place is the prices. They are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. The owners, servers and host were very nice as well. They turned on baby shark over the loud speakers because my daughter was in there crying because she wanted my phone. I will definitely be back to arize! read more

Great breakfast! The Jamaican omelet was as good as advertised. Sweet and savory from the plantains and jerk chicken. The curry grits were fantastic! I've never been big on grits, but have always been big on curry. A unique combo that I've never tried before. I'm a big fan. Toast and fruit were good too. I believe the coffee was the blue mountain coffee from Jamaica. A high quality, unique, nutritionally well-balanced start to the day! read more

I eat here at LEAST 2x a month since beginning of 2022, and I've tried almost all the vegetarian items on the menu. The food is so delicious!! The staff is extremely kind and accommodating. The ambiance is good for grabbing a quick bite with family/friends or a place to go after church, not for a lively brunch with depends. I mostly get my food to go or via UberEats in a sealed bag, and the only challenge is items are consistently missing. read more

I gave 2 stars because I didn't order this but a customer from uber did. She received two of the same plates after only ordering one plate. She gave me the other plate to keep. My one year old daughter and I decided to try it. I gave her a spoon of grits. She instantly spit them out and she loves grits. So I decided to try them and they taste burnt. I tried the eggs and they were cold and taste like water with cheese. The only thing that was edible were the turkey sausage link. Ps. The bread was not my thing it was a instant turn off to see a half bread. It like your trying to save money so decided to spit the bread with everyone. Im done thank for the turkey links! read more

Stumbled upon this gem by accident. My son and I were staying at a hotel across the street and wanted a real breakfast before heading to the airport. My son had chocolate chip pancakes with eggs and bacon. I had the jerk chicken omelette. Portion sizes were large and everything was tasty. Waiter was helpful and attentive. This is a small cafe and is black owned. I had breakfast here with my GF and thought the food was ok. My pancakes where a little heavy. My GF enjoyed here breakfast entree. I would not dine here again simply because there are too many other places to eat in ATL that are not just ok read more

I was back in the south visiting family and this was JUST what the southern doctor ordered! (Or maybe not ;) Food was savory and delicious, a bit pricey and the restaurant itself is kind of awkwardly arranged (like you can tell this was not originally a restaurant, maybe was once a dance studio?)...but with the right group of friends/food to share, it's definitely a good time! read more

They aren't the typical breakfast place. That may not be a big seller. They have delicious choices though.
Is the food worth the price, we live in Columbus but are in Atlanta at least twice a month?
Yes I felt the price was worth the food. The omelette, potatoes and toast was about $11 and the added grits was $3 extra
