Food and drinks were great! Waitress took too long to show up. The DJ was great! The atmosphere was awesome. I had to park far but the walk was worth it. read more

Grown Folks is what it is--and that's exactly what I like about it. It's a spot for mature, grown folks. They just remodeled the place, and I have to say, it looks really nice! The prices are very reasonable for Atlanta, and admission is mostly free. Parking is free too, so I definitely have to give them a lot of credit for that! The only real downside for me is the DJ. He just isn't that good. ‍ They also need to move the DJ over to the corner and open up the dance floor around the mirrors. The ladies love dancing in front of those mirrors! The food is actually very good, especially the burgers and wings. The atmosphere is pretty safe and drama-free, which is another big plus. Overall, I like the spot. I just wish they would switch up the DJ and give us somebody who can really jam! read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. This business is extremely unprofessional and discriminating to the LGBT community. The customer service is HORRIBLE. We were denied entry and treated very unfairly. I would not recommend this place to any grown professional adults. read more

Horrible experience! Customer service wise ! First and last time going here ! Went out to have a good time , at least I thought on a Sunday night ! Went to the bar with my boyfriend and ordered drinks I ordered a lemon drop ! The bartender rolled her eyes ! Her entire body language was negative and I said what happened and she said " I don't feel like making it that's why "! She said she didn't want to make the lemon drop , then I suggested that ok then fine make whatever you want a specialty something ! She goes no I am going to make what want . At least maybe suggest something!! What did she want me to order a beer!! Or she felt the lemon drop had to many ingredients.. which is not the case!! Just lazy is what I call it !Never ever in my life has anyone at a bar or food establishment tell me they didn't want to make the drink that I ordered. If this is the case that means she doesn't want to work or doesn't need to be employed there . Better yet go home ! This was very distasteful and rude! Like tell me how you really feel . Us black folks need to do better and also the owner of the place needs to vet who is he hiring . I wouldn't want someone like this to represent my establishment. The Bartender has a mole on her face and big butt .hair with curls in it .. that's all I could remember. We kindly finished our drinks and took ourselves over to Harold's chicken and ice bar right across the street. The service was much better there , and def wasn't given attitude when I ordered a drink of my choice .. We are living in wild times, grown folks and that bartender who isn't young but think she is needs to self reflect badly ! Never again ! Do better ! read more

Fun Fun Fun! Last night was my first time going and it just happened to be Super Bowl Sunday! One of my Friendgirls invited me out a I truly enjoyed myself and the team that I was rutting for Won, but it's not my team my team is The Pittsburgh Steelers, but anyway the atmosphere was great and good vibes. The food was ok. Would I go back probably, would I recommend it yes read more

The atmosphere is nice and definitely for an older crowd. 40's and up .... You gonna find your suga daddies, zaddies and in between here. Music is nice. Great dancing music.... Sometimes a LIVE band. read more

The service is slow and the space is nothing fancy but some of the best lemon pepper wings ever!!

Love to party here with my wife. Drinks and wings are great. Service on point kept the drinks coming on time in time!!! Will be in there Saturday nights for the rest of the summer!! read more

First of all its 2022 and they only take cash and have their own ATM. It's $20 to enter but even at 10pm there was NO seating (Lots of empty seats in a reserved corner not being used) and it was crowded. Most were not masked but that's Georgia for you. We ended up getting the food to go another $20 per plate - leaving 20 min after we left and they refused a refund. Probably won't return since for $60 have nothing to show for it. Grown Folks needs to grow up, have more seating if you are feeding folk, take credit cards and have better customer service. read more

It was ok! We decided to come here for a few drink after date night. It was ok, not very crowded, reasonably priced drinks and good music.

This was the second time I have been to this club and both times I had a great time, the music was on point, the chicken wings was delicious. The bar tenders are pleasant an pour a good drink, I loved the selection of frozen margaritas. If your looking for a good time, good music you have to try this place. The best part about it, there are at least 3 other places in the same parking lot that you can try. This spot is definitely for the grown and sexy. read more

Didn't want to hear Hip Hop and The Ice bar, somI walked across parking lot to Grown Folks. And that's just what I encountered. 80's and 90's music was right up my alley. My man in white suit killed the dance floor. Can't go wrong with 5$ TIto's. read more

Neighborhood establishment great prices for drinks and food. Great customer service. My go to when I want to spend a night out!

After waiting 2 hours for my party of 7 to be seated and another 2.5 hours for the food to arrive at the table. My mash potatoes were cold and bland, Macaroni and cheese was hard and corn bread was tasteless. Three of my family members did not receive their food and had to wait an additional 30 mins for their order to arrive. Several other family members had complaints about their food also. Not worth the mony read more

First all l am long time customers l have been going Here for many years. This how my night went so to say the night l had was so disappointed. I arrived before 1045 pm to stay in along line keep in my in hot outside. When l finally got inside l pay 20 dollars soon as you walk in after pay 20 dollars l was finally in finally in the place was pack keep in mind l was already standing outside in the hot air it was more hot inside l didn't even enjoy my self when people did clear out it was still hot plus my friend went outside to take call cause the kids call them they had to get back in line to get back in the establishment. I was there for over hour and half couldn't get drink neither food. This was a Sunday night first time ever having issue . To say that they had a big crowd of people they should have done better. Oh well they just lost a couple of people who have been loyal to this place for many year's. One more thing the person and the person who took the money bad attitude read more

This is a nice spot for the grown and sexy. I came here on a Sat and it was free until 11pm, the parking was free and the beers were $3.50 all night. There is a nice sized dance floor, a kitchen that stays open all night, and the DJ spins pretty good music. This was my first time here, so I will be updating this review once I go a few more times... This is def a 35 and over club, I think at 29 I might have been the youngest one in there... Overall a very nice place to come dance and have a drink with friends without raping you of your hard-earned money for the week. I left out of here having had a good time, and not that much money gone from my wallet. Score! read more

Music was good. My server Porsha was excellent. Drinks were ok. Main drawback, is the smoking cigarettes/cigars in the establishment. I had to leave because I couldn't breathe. Unfortunately I won't return. read more

Ok so I must admit that I came ready to bash this place, and its still not that great but, its also not horrible as I anticipated. It is for the "grown"! I would say the age group I experienced was 35 and up, dare I say 40 and up maybe? Lots of ol'katz hangin about the bar area, and may I add, "staring"? I mean at least speak, open your mouth and try some dialogue! There was lots of this going on and it appeared there were more men than women but thoughout the evening the ratio seemed to even out more. I was there to celebrate my god-sisters bday and the most important thing is that she had a great time, and she definitely did. Lets start with the drinks/cocktails. Well, they ranged from so-so to moderate, finally got to a strong one on drink 3 where I could actually taste the liquor (and I want to taste my liquor...LOL)! Next, the waiter/waitress staff, most were getting their hustle on. Some had dry personalities and the older male bartender was curt when I asked for water! I was like *b l i n k*, really?! I had to remind him that our crew of folk were spending much throughout that evening so Grown Folks definitely made some ends. He finally and reluctantly gave up 1 water at a time (which only amounted to two overfilled with ice mostly). Then he had to give me his "we are in the business to sell bottled water" bit, which I was not hearing! I do not recommend dining here, as the menu items are not appealing what-so-ever. Onto the atmosphere and band. DraKarr was the band playing for that evening and the reason my godsister would not let us talk her out of going here. DraKarr is a very energetic and enthusiastic band but sometimes they get crazy with too many ballads. The women were coo'ing and carrying on but not me as I've seen DraKarr a few times and do enjoy them and also glad they did some different covers for a change because they tend to do the same show once you've had that experience. The place was very crowded but drama-free. The DJ left me with much to be desired as I was not feeling the music. I would not rush back to Grown Folks but maybe will recommend them for my older family members when they visit for the reunion as I feel they might enjoy. Finally they do have a well lit parking lot area. read more

Consistent. You will have a great DJ and well poured drink, reasonable cover charge and a good time.Food, just bar bites, nothing spectacular! Nothing special, just a cool grown folks spot. Outta towners will like it too. Special note: Thursday is line dancing, it is pretty full and you better believe you will enjoy learning how to line dance with the SOuthside Steppers. read more

Typical hole in the wall place. I had fun line dancing. Apparently, they teach you the moves for a few hours beforehand. By the time I got there for my cousin's bday, the teaching was over and it was execution time. The people were super friendly in teaching us the moves as we stumbled along. The front door staff wasn't all too great. They tried to send me to another place because they didn't realize there was a party even going on!! Definitely a 30+ crowd. read more

Grown folks use to be a place with a little substance a few years ago. I think they have changed a bit and younger hoodish types hang out here. It seems more of the neighborhood hole in the wall now. I wouldnt get too fancy to come here. I can say the drinks are very potent and the music is a mixture. I heard Sundays they have a live band, so maybe that night is better. read more

Sorry RIKETA C. At 26 my friend was the youngest one in the club... 3 ladies in their young 20s walk into the club, pay the $5.00 cover and drop their jaws at the movement and grace of the Southside Steppers. On to the review. This is a review for Thursday night step class. From 7:30 until.... the Southside steppers provide Chicago style step classes. There is a 5.00 cover and a 3.00 drink special. Plenty of parking is available in the lot out front and the kitchen seems to specialize in fried fish. Whitting not catfish. **If you are not a regular, you will have a hard time getting the bartenders attention**The step instructors seemed to know what they were doing and were good at getting the crowd involved. Be aware before you come Freak Flags are Flying. Everyone is nice and it's a mixed crowd but inappropriately funny things will be said to you. Take a sip of your cheap drink and laugh it off. Not my scene, but OK for what it is. read more

If you're looking for grown folks... this is the place to go!!! You have to get there early to get a seat. The place is rather small. Grown Folks was off the chain. I moved here from N.Y, and I must admit I was pretty impressed with the club. Bad as hell DJ , and oh you gotta see the South Side Steppers. Its a place where the grown and sexy hang, the ladies WOW!!!!! They were everywhere. I was glad to be able to talk to a lady that was not out with her lady if you know what I mean. Its a place you can enjoy yourself without someone hitting you up for money, plus they have nights where us gentlemen can actually get in free which means we can spend more money inside on the honey's. Plus my car was still outside when I left. Oh did I mention the parking is FREE!!!!! which means yes I spent more money on the honeys buying drinks. Grown Folks the place you go up to get down. I have been to Atlanta on several occasions and never had a chance to visit here until this past visit. It was an okay place. The layout was nice and the night I went in they had a live band that was great. I wasn't happy with paying 10 dollars to get into here but I did and had an okay time. If you don't enjoy smoking this place would not be for you. Also they need better waitresses. read more

Was Here visiting for the weekend and we were looking for a spot to hang out on a Sunday after a hard weekend of partying. I almost gave this place a 5 star bc we had so much fun. The downside it was TOO crowded. I didnt expect to come here and listen to a live band( dam good band) 8-11p and THEN the DJ playing up tempo dance music ALL NIGHT. Im a 90s hip hop head and the DJ played a lot of top hits from back in the day.. The dance floor was packed the entire night. Get there before 930 if you want a table.. Food was good and drinks were NOT expensive..I wish I could find a spot like this in Chicago. Im mos def coming back to this spot every time we visit Atlanta. "Big up" to Grown folks Cafe. read more

Been to Grown Folks a few times and each time the experience was worse than the last. We hate to give bad reviews on here, but this last time was just awful. I went there one Sunday; I must say I had a very nice time. The smoking and heat I did not like; but overall it was nice. I know to take my hand fan the next time I go. The wings were great! I enjoyed the atmosphere; I'm getting ready to go in about an hour.... read more

Love to go there on Sunday nights! The waitresses are ok but the female bar tenders suck. They do NOT like to wait on women. They will skip right over you to take a man's order lol. The drinks are strong and the food is good for "bar Food.". The dj is ok but he sure likes to sing along with the songs which can get a little annoying after a while. Shut up an spin already!!! Lol you will have a great time on Sunday nights for sure and it is open super late!!!! read more
