Sweet and spicy chicken and Soy chicken
    Sharene K.

Have been on a Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) binge this year after discovering how ridiculously amazing it is. We wanted to go to Chinatown on Christmas Day so decided it was time to give Arisun a go. We could sit outside with the dog so this was a plus for us. The only thing was they put us right in the corner, even though it was quiet, so we were out of their way but also out of everyone's way except customers coming to view the menu. The staff did ignore us quite a bit. They welcomed Koreans with loud greetings, served them before us even when they came in after us, and let them sit wherever they wanted. They gave them water, but I had to go inside looking for jugs of water and cups. The chicken was the same price that you get at other KFC places in Sydney. The sauces were very tasty (Soy for one and Sweet and Spicy for the other). The spicy chicken was indeed a little spicy which is good when that's what you order! Chicken was tender but pieces a little smaller than other KFC I have been to. They are charging for a "whole" chicken but it definitely was not. Was hard to find and determine all the pieces as well. The skin while very crispy was a little thinner and less crunchier than I prefer. While there were no leftovers, I would say definitely other KFC like Sparrow's Mill and Red Pepper are much better so far to me!

This place is my go to Korean Fried Chicken joint. Their hot pot is pretty good as well. I mean really, how can you go wrong with fried chicken and beer? You just can't! The coolest part about Arisun is their wet naps...they don't start out wet, but pour some water on them and watch them expand, just to clean your dirty hands and face off after digging into some fried chicken. Sweet and spicy or soy flavoured, the fried chicken here is pretty damn good. The only gripe I have about the chicken here is that it can be bony as they use all parts of the chicken. NaruOne beats Arisun in that aspect, and their pieces aren't as large as NaruOne's. However, when it comes to taste and service Arisun wins. The rest of the items on their menu, like the aforementioned hot pot are pretty good. Can't go wrong with a lot of the things here, plus they're open late.

Rice with pork belly and kimchi! Quite a big serving, would possibly be enough for 2 small eaters :) ~$23

It was my usual Friday lunch adventure time - I was craving Korean food and my friend suggested this place because of the jumbo sized black bean noodles. Get out of here! It was actually very very large and I'm not just talking about the bowl that it came in. The large serving is probably enough for at least four, or in my case six, when you order of the dishes as well. We had ordered pork belly with kimchi and rice, which may be quite spicy spicy for some people but for me it was the perfect amount. What I do love is their fried chicken. Mind you it's not cheap ($32) but the quality of the food was pretty high. The fried chicken was crispy even though it had been covered by an amazing sweet and spicy sauce - which once again, might be a bit spicy for some but to me, it was pure bliss. Unfortunately I had to return to uni, otherwise I would've ordered beers. You seriously can't have Korean fried chicken without beers, it should be illegal or something haha. Either way, this restaurant is pretty top-notch if you're looking for some snacks, drinks and just a crazy ass photo with a large bowl of jajangmyeon.

    Really filling

I've walked past this place loads of time and yesterday decided to go in, we were quickly seated as a party of six, food order taken straight away, I had seafood fried rice, it was $13 and absolutely lovely- all of us enjoyed our food.

Located in Chinatown. I think Chinese run the Korean restaurant. Food was mediocre. Banchan was non-existent.

We went in for the jjajangmyun (black bean noodles), and stayed for the pomegranate soju cocktail. Good quality Korean food, friendly staff.

The sweet and spicy sauce was nice and fairly hot while not being overly sweet like other places usually are.

While you progress to your table you'll pass by a showcase of varied meats a lot of which is Wagyu! The displays were clean and well organized surely to amp up your appetite. In a glass room you'll notice one of the chefs operating a meat slicer as the meat is cut fresh upon ordering. As I'm sure some of you Korean BBQ fanatics have experienced some restaurants have pre portioned frozen meats. Don't skimp out on this restaurant, the food quality is high so make the most of it! While honeymooning in Sydney my wife and I were on the hunt for "Yangnyeom Gejang". Neither my wife nor I are Korean but "Yangnyeom Gejang" is Spicy Marinated Raw Crab. If you've never tried it and are open minded seriously give it a try as its not readily available. The crab dish was extremely well portioned and makes for a great side dish/appetizer. The banchan was superb and you'll be offered a variety of side dishes to accompany your meal. Aside from the raw crab we ordered Wagyu Beef Tongue, Galbi, and Pork belly! All of which satisfied us and we were well satiated! Whether you're just visiting or a local resident I HIGHLY recommend Jang Ta Bal for your next Korean BBQ venture!

The service was a little off -- one tissue napkin for a table of two (why?), basically tossed all the little banchan plates onto the table, and the bowl of miso soup could not have been more than 1/4 cup ... I mean, what's the point. Everything is all forgiven because the food was delicious. Food came out hot, flavors were balanced, and the carafe of ice, cold water was really nice (hey, I'm ready to please). Prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Give them a try.

As far as the BBQ we got the bulbogi and the galbi. Both meats are my go to when it comes to Korean BBQ. And this place did not disappoint, tender and flavorful. We got the tofu and seafood soup, it was packed with seafood. The service was prompt and this place stays open late!

It's a name that strikes fear into the heart of the enemy as you imagine Dukbaegi and the 46 other ronin charging furiously into battle screaming a chilling war cry... but... this is neither feudal Japan nor a blockbuster movie starring that bloke from Bill 'n' Ted's. It is, however, a relatively new and very good Korean BBQ restaurant. I had to ask fellow yelpers where I ate because this place needs a branding lesson (as in molten metal on cowhide). The menu doesn't have the name on it, instead you get a double dose of discombobulation as Korean characters co-mingle with the English words "Korean table", which just confuses the bejeezus outta me. In fact you'd be so hard pressed to find this place that I doubt anyone will ever see this review because they won't be looking for Dukbaegi. Hopefully my search engine prowess doesn't fail me now, and by entering the keyword *Makanai* which is the restaurant next door, we should see this result rise like cream to the top. So how was the food? It was delish, fresh and hot (temperature not spicy). The positives were the serving size and the sides - which consisted of little potato fritters, mini-mash, and miso soup. The downside was that it took a long time for food to come out despite the place being relatively empty. I had the BBQ Chilli Pork Hotpot and it was super tasty. It easily filled me up and I enjoyed every mouthful.

After narrowing it down to 2 choices I asked the waitress what she thought and she recommended the chilli seafood kalguksu if I liked spicy food. It was a great choice on a cold sydney autumn night. The soup was spicy and very flavoursome. My only complaint would be the chopsticks. Why do Koreans insist on using metal flat chopsticks? It makes it very difficult to use, especially with noodles. Dukbaegi is a welcomed addition to the chatswood food scene and a great replacement for where used to stand a sub par dessert house.
