Along with moving and packing, they also have storage facilities, so if you need some of your things to be stored between moves, they can handle that for you. Would definitely recommend them to anyone asking.

They were customer focused, accommodated our date change, were very courteous and friendly. The movers worked quickly and were very careful with our furniture - using special wrap to keep things safe. I dislike moving, but Metro Van Movers made the day easy and actually fun. My husband and I both highly recommend this service.

This is an excellent way to reduce waste and ensure your items arrive at your new home safely. You will need to pay a cash deposit up front of $15 per box, to be returned once they collect the boxes. This was great and I wish more companies offered it. We had three packers for three hours the first day which was speedy and efficient. Both days they arrived early which I really appreciated. The second day we had three movers, however they moved a bit slower than I would have liked. One of three of the workers stayed in the truck the entire time and did not rotate with the other workers, who started showing signs of fatigue after several hours (understandable). I understand getting tired, but towards the end of their work my instructions were not followed and boxes were placed haphazardly on our first and second floor rather than where I asked them to be. It took them almost two hours to get from our old to our new place, during which time they mentioned stopping for food and water (but I was charged the full time). I want these guys to get a break and asked if they would get one, but never got a clear answer, and I think I paid for all the time anyways. All and all, we enjoyed using this service and would recommend it for anyone tackling a big move in Vancouver. They could work a little faster, but all of my items arrived safely which was my primary concern.

I used Ellis Moving recently and had a bad experience. A new employee had underestimated my move…read moreand consequently a smaller truck arrived. I was on a time frame to get packed up, floors cleaned and catch a ferry. We had to wait for a bigger truck. It was a panic to get everything done, without going into detail things went from bad to worse. It was very stressful. However, the crew was great, wrapped everything well, worked hard to get my things out of the house and no furniture was damaged. When I shared my experience with the owners, they took responsibility, apologized and made it right in a BIG way. One hears of so many companies that make excuses and are difficult to deal with. This is a company with integrity. Thank you Donna & James

I used Ellis Moving & Storage to move my belongings from Vancouver to Spain. The main reason I…read moredecided to bring things from home versus buying new here in Spain was because of my collection of paintings which I didn't want to part with. We also spoke in detail about the types of each painting (e.g. oil vs water colour, etc.), and I requested that my six most valuable paintings be crated for added protection. When I interviewed Ellis and a couple of other companies, I was very clear that taking care of my art work was the most important part of the move. Flash forward to present day. When my items finally arrived in Spain and I had the chance to open the boxes and check to make sure that they had arrived okay, I was upset to see that for my two most valuable paintings, paint came off each painting onto the plastic wrap that they had wrapped them in. They hadn't bothered to wrap them more carefully to ensure this didn't happen. Note that I have moved these paintings many times myself over the years and never had this happen because I put a layer of cardboard between the front of each painting and the plastic wrap to ensure this didn't happen. And for one other treasured artwork, the plastic completely stuck to the entire surface of the painting! Fortunately it came off without damaging the painting, even though it appears to have left some residue on the surface (which fortunately seems to come off with some gentle wiping). When I emailed my main contact about what had happened, he didn't respond. I then forwarded the same email to him and "cc'ed" the CEO - his brother I believe - to see if I received a response. Still nothing. I find this very unacceptable considering the thousands of dollars I paid to them for their services. To give credit where credit is due, all of my other items arrived safely included my china and crystal glass set. However, the pieces of art that got damaged are worth over $12,000 Cdn. For one of them, it was only a small amount of paint that came off, but there was more damage on the other one. And I was very clear that they were the most important pieces to me. Plus it's hard to understand how professional movers don't know how to properly wrap things like paintings, and also why they completely forgot to crate the key pieces as discussed. So unfortunately I have to give Ellis Moving & Storage a D, especially because ignoring me once I reported the issue to them shows a complete lack of professionalism in my estimation. I would recommend finding another moving company, especially if you're transporting fine art work.

Called Ferguson initially mostly because the reviews seemed decent. Our initial inquiry was responded to promptly and an estimator visited our house a few days later to give us a quote. It was the visit from the estimator that clinched it for us. Juville was so professional and thorough. Asked about things we hadn't even thought of. Made some excellent suggestions. My initial reaction to the quoted price was that it was higher than expected, but considering what the sketchy / overly complicated options were coming in at, it wasn't actually that much more. And Juville clearly knew what she was doing, which was extremely reassuring. We really appreciated that she came to our house, prepared a detailed written estimate on the spot, and left us to think about it, without any pressure. We called her back, booked the move and paid our deposit. On moving day we had the worst possible rain (and that's saying something in Vancouver). The movers were organized and professional, and the rain didn't slow them down at all. When the truck was weighed it was very close to what Juville had estimated on our written quote. Our goods arrived safely at the other end. No damage, nothing missing. For the quoted price, no surprises. I would definitely recommend Ferguson and would use them again.

As easy as they make it sound on all of those downloadable 'Plan Your Move' checklists you find online, all I could think about were all the horror stories I'd heard from friends and colleagues over the years about stuff getting broken, things going missing or in one case, not delivered at all! I contacted several companies for estimates, I'm not sure how many there were in total but most never responded or their websites didn't work so I guess that made it easy to rule them out ; ) Of the companies that I did receive responses from, QMM immediately made themselves the obvious choice and I'm very happy to leave a review for them here. Before even reaching out for estimates, I was concerned that since I was only a one-bedroom apartment , that this would put me at the bottom of the priorities pile. However, when I spoke to QMM on an initial phone call, I was surprised at the time they took to ask me questions, explain their process of how they generate price estimates and even how to go about wrapping/protecting certain furniture items as well as how they usually help with wrapping and packing different types of items so they don't get damaged. I received a detailed price estimate based on the list of items I told them I would be moving the next day as promised. From the time I went forward with the estimate to the time when the movers came on moving day, I had a dedicated contact who kept me in the loop on the move date and times, on what I needed to do paper work-wise (as I was moving from the NYC to Vancouver, Canada) and everything in-between. The day of the move was as stressful as I ever could have imagined but the guys were so friendly and professional and they took great care with all my stuff. At this point I told myself 'ok don't get too excited something could still go wrong!' Per the updates from my QMM contact, the truck rolled up at my new place exactly on-time. The guys who delivered here were super nice and got all my stuff into the house awesomely fast and organized - and everything accounted for. I know this is a long review but when I was searching for companies to contact the reviews really helped me in my research so I hope that this will help someone else. I can't recommend QMM and the whole team there enough. Everyone I came in contact on the phone or in person was awesome and I would not hesitate to call them again.

Attempted fraud. They charged me packing, shuttle and transport fees based on "actual weight of…read more4300 lbs" and when I contacted them to say that I knew my goods could not possibly weigh that much, said they would not release my goods until I paid $6000USD in full. After I paid in full, they admitted the shipment actually weighed 3700 lbs, and offered to refund a small portion of the transport fee only. Their "full service" was supposed to include certain of my items being clearly labeled and put aside for my quick access, but this never happened. I had paid a lot of money to have those items sorted and put into a separate pile for this purpose. Their accounting department made multiple mistakes that cost me over $260USD in bank fees, for which they only offered to reimburse $130. They arranged to have my car transported, and it arrived damaged, for which I had to submit a claim. My attempts at resolving the situation only resulted in a rude email from them stating they would make "no further adjustments to my invoice," other than deducting the $130 bank fees.
