What a big mistake!The old man assisting us seemed ok at first, he was even cracking jokes, but then I noticed he was getting annoyed when I asked him for different colors and styles. And when I asked him for a shirt his answer was "a shirt is a shirt " as he rolled his eyes. Then he told my son he was going to have to imagine the vest on. I thought he was joking and laughed but then I realized he wasn't , and said no, he would like to try it on please. He yelled at me from across the room " Come on, come on !". I kept my cool ( thinking wow! what a grumpy, rude old man). However, I told my son to just change because we were going somewhere else. Then the old man came back with a vest and with an attitude he said "here!" and handed my son the vest. While we were there, there was only one other person in the store who walked in to pick up his prom tuxedo. So I guess he was overwhelmed with "two" customers. Just because he was old an we all know how old people sometimes become grumpy, I didn't want to be disrespectful so I told him my son will come back with his girlfriend to make sure the tuxedo and accessories match her dresses, since they have 2 proms. The man's answer was to make sure he knows what he wants because he can't try everything on because everything he tried on had to be dry cleaned according to covid regulations.... O.....k. That is not my problem, tuxedo rentals are expensive. So I finally told him not to worry about him because my son was not going back. I told him, calmly, that he needed to have patience with his customers, we can't just go and get an outfit for a very special day without trying it on and making sure that it's what we want and that it fits nicely. He said he's been in the business for over 50 years, he got in my face trying to intimidate me and said I was rude. To be honest, I really felt like pushing him but Instead I took a step back and told him he was the rude one, and maybe that was the problem, he's been doing it for too long and it was time for him to retire. I walked out as he was yelling I don't know what. By then my blood pressure was trough the roof. Wow! what a bad experience. The good news is that right after I left that shit hole, I went to a store in Rutherford and got everything my son needs for his 2 proms. What a difference! Thank goodness for that. So, since I can't give 0 stars I'm giving it 1. I just read other reviews, I wish I would've done it before walking into that nightmare.

I asked to stop the alterations because I could not afford to move forward. Susan said no problem and that the hem was done. When I picked up my dress, the hem was not finished, only the inner layers of the dress had been hemmed and they'd been hemmed WRONG! They were ascending rather than descending. This incorrect hem cost me $750 (1/2 of the total which is very high pricing!) but because I did not have an itemized receipt (though I asked for one) that price shocked me. The top layer was the shortest and they got longer from there so they were ascending rather than descending which is not how I brought the dress in or how wedding dresses are supposed to be hemmed. I called Susan, assuming it had to be a mistake, but she refused to fix her mistake. I found a seamstress to complete all alterations for 1/8 of the price. Susan had google remove my review threatening to sue me for defamation and extortion but I don't want her money, nor did I ever threaten her or lie. I just don't want others to have the experience I had. Google is biased and sides with business often. Customer service is all I ever asked for and wanted, a simple apology, any kind of offer to adjust the incorrect hem would have been more than enough.

My last experience with Green Planet Dry Cleaners prompted me to write a review. About a month ago, I brought in a very expensive Persian rug that was utterly ruined. I had it in storage for a year, folded in 6 parts, stuffed in a white garbage bag. Sadly the rug had mold and as a result, smelled awful. Before this experience, I did not know there was a specific way to handle Persian rugs. I brought in the rug with little expectation and showed it to the owner. The smell was so bad his eyes watered; it was embarrassing, but he kept it professional. As soon as I took out the rug from the bag he knew it was a Persian, the material it was made of, how it was mistreated (my word) and what the smell was (I did not know it had mold). He told me he didn't promise me anything but he would try to do what he can. Three weeks later, I come back to pick up the rug. The smell is gone, the mold is gone, the rug felt so soft and the colors are perfect!! I almost cried. He saved the rug! So would I recommend Green Planet Dry Cleaners... In a heartbeat! For the alteration, I asked them to take a bow off a dress and make it shorter and not only was the price to do that fair, they were able to do it in a couple of days and it looked great!
