I mentioned that I'm actively losing weight, and he made sure to take that into account so the suit would still fit well as my body changes. That level of care really stood out to me. Alan was also incredibly generous. I was able to use a store credit he had provided, and it was clear that he genuinely cares about his customers and wants to make sure everything goes well. That kind of service is rare these days. The Madison Avenue showroom is beautiful and the whole team makes you feel very welcome. I've had a really positive experience every time I've come here. That's why I returned in May 2025 to order a sportcoat. Unfortunately, the customer service this time fell short of my expectations. By late August, I realized I hadn't heard anything about the order and called for an update. I was told the fabric had been out of stock and later delayed due to the factory's vacation schedule, which seemed reasonable enough. In September, they contacted me for a fitting, but the appointment date inadvertently fell on a holiday when the store was closed. I rescheduled for October. At that visit, I was told the jacket would be ready in a few weeks, but again, no one reached out. In December--more than six months after ordering--I called once more and received a text saying they'd follow up with an estimated date. When I expressed frustration about the lengthy delay, they acknowledged that the initial order had been submitted late, which contradicted earlier explanations. To their credit, they took responsibility and offered a generous store credit, which was appreciated but not expected. The reason for my three-star rating isn't the final product, which was fine, but the lack of proactive communication. I had to repeatedly contact them just to understand what was happening with an order that had been paid for months earlier. Even my salesperson at Macy's is more proactive--and I don't spend thousands of dollars at a time there. My husband has had consistently positive experiences at Alan David, so I do believe my situation was an outlier and wouldn't discourage others from trying them. They ultimately handled the service recovery well; I only wish the issue had been acknowledged and addressed earlier. My hope is simply that their follow-up and order tracking become more reliable moving forward because otherwise, you might be left with the feeling that once you've paid, nobody really cares.

It is beaded and I was worried it would take more than a week to hem it so I planned on going to a seamstress in Union that I normally use. I planned on taking all of the dresses with me so that I could get her advice on which one was the easiest and cheapest to fix, given my timeline. As I looked for the address of the seamstress I normally use, I found Sandra's name on Google. When I saw her great reviews and her proximity to me, I called her and was immediately impressed. She had me come right over, and we discussed the alterations that would be needed on the dress I thought I preferred. Although she could do the work within a week, she helped me realize it was a better value to wear a different dress that didn't need alterations, which saved me money. She took her time to help me, even thought it didn't result in her providing me an alteration! She helped me in one other way - the dress I will end up wearing is too short for the heels I already have, so I was going to have to buy new shoes. Sandra also carries shoes for sale, much to my surprise. I ended up purchasing a great pair of low-heel sandals for only $99 - much cheaper and much better quality than what I was seeing online. I am really happy to have met Sandra and to have her now as my trusted seamstress. It started off OK- everything was in one week before our wedding. The guys all went and tried on their tuxes. Every single guy had at least one thing wrong whether it was the shoes, vest, jacket, or pants sizing was off. The worker assured us all pieces would be in 2 days before our wedding. When the guys picked up their tux, they only tried on the pieces that were replaced, not thinking they should retry everything back on. One groomsmen shirt had a hole under his arm pit, one had a rip in their shoe, ones shirt (that fit at the try on) was so tight it actually ripped, and my husbands father was missing his pocket square. That wasn't it, worst of all, my fathers pants (that fit at try on as well) were so big on him that for our first dance I had to HOLD UP his pants the WHOLE DANCE!! Can't wait to see how that looks in the video!!! What is supposed to be a happy memory for me and my father was absolutely ruined.

After going to ten bridal stores I found my Mother of the Bride dress at Vesa. When I walked into…read morethe store I met Elsa who assisted me. I told her the color of the dress that I was looking for and she started pulling out gowns for me to try on and as she handed me one more gown she said "try this one on it just came in". As it turned out that gown became mine. I asked to have black crystal buttons sewn down the back. Elsa went shopping and texted me two different buttons asking which one I preferred. Her seamstress was amazing and the alterations were perfect. The store has a loft feeling, large windows that let in a lot of light and four racks of gowns that I had not seen anywhere else. Elsa also allowed me to take pictures of the gown, where other shop owners forbid it . That alone made me feel confident that she knows her business so well and puts her customers first . I had not experienced that level of comfort and caring in any of the other stores that I went to. Now you might ask how did I find out about Vesa?
