I definitely had the best experience of the weekend here. Before visiting, you use their online portal to select your favorite dresses from their collection. When I arrived, you could tell that the stylist had spent some time reviewing my choices and really put some thought into how to structure the appointment. I tried on all of my favorites, and also quite a few of her recommendations in similar styles. I loved so many of the dresses I tried on, I'd say their collection is trendier than a lot of other places I visited, but still has some classic styles mixed in. While my other appointments were pretty hit or miss, basically everything I tried on here was high quality and so beautiful. The store itself is really pretty too, it feels super high-end and relaxing at the same time. There's a private room with a changing area for the bride and seating for guests, and it seems like they only do one shopping appointment and one dress pick-up appointment at a time, so it's really private. The prices were fair, ordering and dress pick-up process was seamless, and the staff was so helpful along the way. They don't offer alterations in house, but have two preferred tailoring partners they can refer you too. I picked my dress about 10 months before my wedding, and had to pay a small rush fee to get the dress in time, so make sure you plan way ahead. Loved the experience overall and am so so happy with my dress. I've already been recommending it to all the future brides in my life!!

However, I was thrilled with the work she did and the time I which she did it. I planned a destination wedding and found my dress just 2 months before we left. Judy exceeded my expectations by not only fixing my dress (taking in three layers of fabric, lifting the shoulders, hemming the length & sewing in cups) but also did it all within a 5 week time frame! No one in the bridal business ever seems to do this. I have friends who have had 9 months of fittings and were charged an arm and a leg. My total cost was $300. I didn't get warm and fuzzy with Judy and my family never came with me. Also, I bought my dress from JCrew so I didn't shop in the store. But my experience was overall just what I needed. I had a tough off…read morethe shoulder, asymmetrical dress with 2 different types of fabric and she took it in multiple sizes (I think it was 12 and I was a 6!). She was also really accommodating in terms of fitting times since I worked out of state on weekdays. In three weeks Margherita finished tailoring my dress and the results were fantastic, bustle and all, and I went happily on my way. A couple of things that I wish could be improved - When I first commissioned her we agreed on one price and then she called the next week to say she underestimated the work and it would cost $50 more, but that she felt badly since it was her mistake so could we just split it down the middle. I agreed but thought it was a strange. The other thing was that since I was traveling to a different state for the wedding she didn't press the dress, which I understand because it gets wrinkled anyway. However, the part where she shortened the dress (new folds created) she didn't press either, so I had to do it myself to create that nice even line at the bottom, which given the price I would assume she would have helped with.

AND I did find something wonderful... Joanna! She did such a good job at listening to my wants and needs and suggesting some really gorgeous dresses normally outside my comfort zone. In the end she was the friend and family I wish I could have had there to share the experience with me (they live out of town). She supported me, made me laugh and was just the right amount of honest that normally only feels right coming from a well trusted friend. I have to say for a small shop they have quite the assortment and from really great designers. I felt like they kept grabbing dresses I loved! I also needed crinoline added underneath which I wanted sewn into the dress. I went for an initial fitting, and then two more until the dress fit just right, and picked it up on the fourth visit. I recommend going for alterations 2.5-3 months before your wedding day, and having your wedding shoes and any undergarments with you, which Elena was very nice to remind me on the phone. Her prices might be a little bit on the higher side, but her work is worth it especially if you have a complicated dress like mine. I really like how Elena Bridal is right below La Reine, which made it very easy and efficient.
