You can't do better in Harker Heights for this price. I had the platter with yucca (fried crispy), chicken, steak, cheese, avocado, and a sort of creamy chimichurri-tasting sauce drizzled on top. It normally comes with bell peppers and onions, but they cheerfully left those out at my request. The result was pure deliciousness. I'll be coming here a lot in the future and trying the sandwiches as well. read more

I came here on a suggestion from a friend. We weren't sorry! The gentleman in the front suggested a Pepito sandwich (we got the steak). It was delicious and a little unique. You also get quite a bit of food for price....for a decent size Pepito sandwich, fries and a drink it came out to about $15 and some change. Not too bad. The Parrilita looked great but that's for next time. The place was clean and the staff was really friendly and attentive. read more

I have never had Venezeulan cuisine so this was a new experience. I was warmly greeted upon entering and the workers behind the counter were very willing to explain the menu. The food was exceptional and very filling. The price was very fair, and I cannot wait to return. Thank you to the wonderful man from Caracas for the great experience! read more

Delicious. We went for date night. Took the owner's(?) suggestion and shared the tostones and parrillita. They were fantastic. Generous portions, too. The location is very casual, not fancy. Drinks are bottled or canned from the cooler. It was not crowded on a Friday night, but seemed to have a steady stream of guests. We will go back. read more

My husband and I ordered from Arepitas last night and it was amazing! We moved here a little less than a year ago and this is one of the best restaurants in the area! The food was great, service was great and they were happy to answer questions about my dietary restrictions (gluten free). We will definitely be returning and I 10/10 recommend! read more

The food was delicious, the service was quick but not rushed and the staff genuinely seemed to want people to enjoy their meal and come back. Very refreshing experience. read more

Outstanding. The Arepas are perfect. Clean dining room. Not fancy but friendly. Great food. Great service.

Fantastic Yelp Find! The authenticity of the arepas and food here is without question. Everything I've had so far has been super delicious and incredibly well prepared. Traé recuerdos de los veranos de vacaciones en Venezuela. Give this place a try... you won't regret it! read more

Their empanadas are the best! My favorite is the shredded beef with the garlic sauce.

First and foremost. The best places in the United States can be found in gas stations. The people running this little Venezuelan imbiss were genuinely helpful and charming. They had a natural easiness that made you feel welcome as if they had invited you into their home. They explained in depth the menu choices so that you could make an informed choice, (there are no bad choices). Everything is made to order. Arepas are a fat little corn cake somewhat like a hoe cake. It is made from pre-cooked nixtamalized masa. They are slit in half horizontally and stuffed with delicacies. My wife had the on with fresh cheese, avocados, shredded lettuce, and shredded chicken. It was incredibly tasty. I had the beef, beans, fresh cheese, and plantains. It was exceptional. I will go there again and I will take friends and family there. read more

Me my husband, and my daughter ate there one day on a family outing. It was very nice.very clean, and the people that work there wete very attentive and friendly, the price was nicebamd it was a very nice experience read more

Amazing food that you just can't really get anywhere else in town. Service was amazing for such a small place. Only problem that you run into is parking is difficult sometimes with so few spots for two restaurants right next door to each other. Other than parking on busy nights I would always recommend this to someone wanting to try something new! read more

The restaurant is inside a gas station, however the food quality is awesome and outstanding customer service . We had the Pepito sandwich and the blond with some homemade empanadas. I truly recommend Arepitas to anyone that wants fresh homemade food. The are about to move but check them on Facebook read more

Expected more than just sandwiches. The one I ordered was flavorless have had better ones won't be going back

Wonderful food. Don't let the place being in the gas station deceive you. It's absolutely amazing food and they go above and beyond with the service. Very friendly and polite. They also explain the menu and don't rush you to order and everything is home made and fresh. I will absolutely be coming back here and hope this place gets well known and they will be able to expand to their own place. Thank you for a great experience! read more

Tried Arepitas for the first time today. Great service and great food. Will definitely be back again soon! (And I already know what I want to order next time!) read more

Food was amazing! Huge portions and made fresh! My only suggestion is they invest in a sign, we had a hard time finding them. FYI they're located inside of the Shell gas station. I will definitely be eating here again! read more

It's been a while since I've had a meal blow me away. This place is amazing. I've eaten here before...the arepas are really good. Today I got the tostones. They cover them in cheese, slaw, avocado and their house sauces. Wow. These were the best tostones I've ever had...and I've had them all over Florida and in New York. The empanada with the corn meal crust are amazing also...not too greasy and STUFFED with meat. I highly recommend checking this place out. The owners are friendly and accommodating. They're inside the Shell Gas Station...go check them out. read more

Food is absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, and leaves you feeling full. We wanted to try more, so we'll definitely be back. We ordered our food to-go at the peak of lunch time on a weekday, there was a line waiting to order when we got there. Still only took about 10 minutes to get our food. We had never tried Venezuelan food before and the staff was very friendly and super helpful in explaining the options to us. read more

Delicious! Tostones are the bomb! The tequeños are amazing! The Parrillita plate is divine! The presentation of the food is gorgeous and the people that work there are very nice and accommodating. You can tell the food is good and that they do well, just look at their new location! Congratulations, to many more years success! read more

I went here with my family yesterday. It was our first time trying this type of cuisine. Lots of bright colors which is great because it looks very appealing. We had the Tostones, which I highly recommend. I have never had plantains before and all the flavors were amazing. We also tried the Tequeños and they were flippin delicious too. There was a little sauce (Not marinara) and it went really well with it. We also ordered the Llanera and Pepito which were great sandwiches and even their fries are good! Overall great experience, I am definitely going back! read more

Finally a piece of Venezuela in Killeen. I have been trying to find a good place to eat areolas or something remotely close to it, to my surprise I found a place that had EVERYTHING All the little Venezuelan craves in one place, the Cachapas, Tequeños, Arepas, everything... So since I was so exited I decided to order different things, I started with the Tequeños, which is what Americans would call "cheese sticks" it would be a great injustice to call Tequeños that, they're lighter and softer, the dough is different, the best weird way to describe them would be, a crispy cloud with cheese, it's just perfect. The empanadas where on point perfectly fried to a golden brown, the Arepas where filled, topped, everything I ate was tastier than the last thing. Everything is made right there on the spot, nothing is frozen, the freshness is amazing. Now for the service, the owners work there all the time, they care about ALL they're costumers, they remember what you got last time and they even remember your name, too bad I can't rate this place any higher. Definitely the hidden gem of Killeen. read more

Looked for something different on Yelp last week and saw this place with all the awesome reviews. Unfortunately when I went to the address here it was for their new location which wasn't open yet. So I had to wait a week to get my foodie on. Finally went for the first time today and was not disappointed! Ordered the Tostones appetizer and the Arepita with the steak and avocado. It was so good! I was not disappointed! Will come back again for sure! read more

So good. You have to pay before you eat and it's a small area but the food is good. I typically don't desire Venezuelan food and more of a Dominican and Columbia's preference but I did enjoy this food and the freshness. Every bite is savory. read more
