Do NOT go through the "express" car wash with if your on any sort of timeline. Hands down the slowest "express" car wash I've ever been to. It does do a decent job, but with 3 cars in front of me it too 15 minutes just to get into the wash. A total of 25 minutes to get the car through. This is a brand new ARCO station and AM/PM. If you need cheap gas, junk food and energy drinks near the freeway this is the place to go! Conveniently located right off the 405 freeway, the prices here (at least today) are a solid 14 cents lower than other gas stations nearby. While I may not be a regular ARCO customer, I can appreciate their lower prices and this station's proximity to the freeway. I don't know if the prices will stay quite this low; they may be especially low right now because they want to attract customers to the new station. The AM/PM is filled with the goods to satisfy all of your convenience store needs. They have over a dozen coffee and coffee-related options, a wide selection of fountain drinks and at least 4 ICEE flavors. This location was really clean and pretty nice looking for a gas station. They also had squeegees, which I don't think most ARCOs have. read more

This is a perfect location, also very good large size, and literally 100 years from the ramp to the 405 fwy. It is on the corner of Wardley and Long Beach Blvd, you can spot it a mile away! It is nice and clean inside, prices are medium range, paid ~$7 for a quart of oil, gas prices are good. The lady was nice inside, not too busy on a Monday morning. Overall great experience. I was robbed while at this gas station. My cell phone was taken, so I went to the window to ask them to call the cops and they said no! I said what why won't you call the cops? They didn't answer me I then walked to the door and the manager walked to the door on the other side and locked the door in my face! I just went to Arco to fill up my car with gas and take it in for a car wash. This placed has been an Arco for a few years now (maybe 3) and it is always crowded which is the main reason I don't like coming here. The two dudes in there are so rude for no reason. I went in there to ask them to help me with the hydrogen machine because it said "please seek attendant" and as soon as he heard me say the word hydrogen, he started actually yelling at me saying he has nothing to do with that. Chill bro, you could've just told me that normally. Right after that happened I saw both of them yelling at this random guy because he said he paid for gas and the pump wasn't dispensing any. The guy accused him of stealing and was yelling at him until another random guy stepped in and said he saw him pay. Then he checked the computer and sure enough, the guy paid. This gas station is cool and all it has low prices and staff is friendly, but the car wash has gone to shit. I used to wash my car here before they "upgraded" and it was so much better before. The new car wash you have to wash your car the same day! Before they gave you 60 days! So if you don't use it same day you lose it and it got more expensive as well so now the basic wash is $7 before it was $5. They need to go back the old wash. read more

This review is for using the gas station and car wash. Pros: This gas station is conveniently located right next to the 405 N onramp near Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow. It is on the corner of this intersection, making it accessible from either road. They also offer a $0.10 discount on gasoline if you get a car wash too (ranging from $5 basic wash to $9 premium wash). Cons: For gasoline, they only take cash or debit and there is a $0.35 charge for using debit. No pumps have individual credit/debit card readers. For every pair of pumps, there is a payment station located between them that you have to use. If you want to get the car wash/gas discount deal you will need to go inside where there can usually be a big line. As for the gas pumps, it is often really busy and can be a little hectic because of the two entrances. They have an automatic car wash, which I used this time. I got a basic $5 wash. My car was SUPER dirty and I think the machine did a good job (post-wash photo included). You might need to be careful if you have any body modifications to your car. The air dry cycle at the end lasted ~1 minute and did a fair job. To dry the car, you pull up right before the exit of the carwash and slowly drive it along as three big tubes blast air. It doesn't perfectly dry off the car, but it does get a lot of the moisture away. For five dollars and no extra effort on my part, I was happy with the results. Overall, not my favorite gas station, but useful when I am in the area. If you are car is super dirty and your tank is on empty, it might be worthwhile to get the gas and wash combo. read more

Saturday 10/17/2020 I went to ARCO to purchase gas. There were no cars in my walking path to pay in the store. I turned to look back for my pump number and there was a car that backed up into me, hitting me on my right side, then that idiot that hit me with his car drove off speeding without even seeing if I was OK. The police were called and went in the store to view the camera footage but, to get the description of the Hispanic man and vehicle. But the idiots working there said they could not allow anyone to see the video but the manager would be in around 9am. Well I got hit around 7:30am. Today, Wednesday 10/21/20, my attorney went this morning looking to view the video and they staff again idiots, stated they did not know when the manager would be in. I will by past that damn gas station and go to another one even if it is farther away. This was a hit and run on their property and they are not even cooperating. Well I wonder what channel 2, 4, 5, 7, 9 would like to do with this story if we don't get any satisfaction within a few days. So if anyone was at the Arco on Long Beach Blvd and Wardlow Road, right by the 405 Fwy, entrance, at 7:30 am and witnessed the incident of me getting backed into and hurt, please reply to this post so my attorney can get more witnesses. The only gas station I will fill my gas tank in LB. It's a pretty nice looking AM/PM and it's usually the gas station with the cheapest gas in the entire city, along with cheap prices though comes mad traffic so be prepared to wait a few minutes and try to keep your cool. I like that it's conveniently close to my work and that they have a Chase ATM machine inside (as they do in every other AM/PM), the employees are pretty friendly and the store isn't ghetto at all, too bad I can't say the same about some of its customers. Convenient spot, clean mini mart, and probably the lowest price for gas in the neighborhood. I've gotten an icee (or whatever they're called in there) and a push pop in their store. Only negative is that Arco doesn't take credit cards, so you have to use cash or your ATM (and get charged an additional $0.45). read more

Located on LB Blvd and Wardlow. Right next to the 710 fwy. Tons of self serve gas pump, the store is huge and always stocked. You get 10 cents off per gallon if you purchase a car wash. But here is the trick- you just pump then go threw the car wash then go inside and get your refund. OKAY- most people are going to forget or not waste there time going back in. So it would be better if they just give you the discount for the beginning. Car wash is big and works pretty good for a quick car wash. read more

Probably the cheapest gas station in the area! The area is ok but again it's a gas station so think about your personal safety especially at night. Twice on different nights there was a transient man in front of the convenience store. He seemed nice but again if you're a young woman by yourself at a gas station just be aware of your surroundings. The pump debit card machine usually always works for me it but I do see that some people end up going into the convenience store anyways. The gas is always cheap so it's hard to beat the price. Bought some of those new lays flavors like biscuits and gravy here. So that's a plus in addition to the gas price. read more

This used to be another gas station...I wanna say like Texaco, but I'm not sure. They also had a Louisana Fried Chicken place here, but the chicken was really greasy and not that good. They closed, now it's ARCO am/pm. I was on my way to Vegas last Wednesday for a craps/roulette fix and needed to tank up. Course, Long Beach Blvd and Wardlow is right off the 405, so it's real convienent. Since it's new, it's got that "clean and friendly" vibe, but don't know how long that's gonna last. Other thing that impressed me is that they have probably a dozen or so fountain drinks, as well as Slusshies. Store is what you'd expect for a decent gas station. I give a 1-star deduction for the fact that they charge your ATM card with a 45-cent surcharge to dispense gas. Now, you can sign up for their ARCO am/pm card and waive that fee, but all the card does is link it to a checking account. So, it's really not a gas card, but more like that Mobile Speedpass. Since I'm a driver and the majority of the time my company gas card doesn't work, I have a small, but growing collection of gas cards. Also, if you go there, don't get that Moutain Dew Throwback. Yes, it's made from real sugar and wrapped in the retro-styled lable, but it doesn't taste right. Guess my taste buds are just accustomed to high fructose corn syrup! read more

Agreed with a comment below that the car wash is a scam. Make sure to check your receipt to be sure that if you do get the car wash that you're paying the cheaper gas price. I've learned that the hard way. Every time I've come here it's been extremely busy but I've had impeccable service by the employees. -- Great Looks on the Outside, Terrible Staff on the Inside -- I decided to give this shiny new ARCO a try today. It looks clean, and new. Plus, the art deco exterior is attractive. So I pulled in and clicked it to automatically fill my tank. That's when things got interesting. After a few minutes, I smelled a strong smell of gas. When I looked more closely, I saw that the pump had NOT shut off when the tank was full. Instead, gas was overflowing onto the ground! I quickly shut it off, and noticed from the pump that one gallon had been spilled. "No problem", I thought, "I'll just get a refund for the spilled gas". The young man behind the counter was friendly, but said, "No, we can't refund you for something like that". So I asked to speak to his manager, a 20-something middle eastern-looking man...we'll call him "Bob". Again, I was refused. So this time I asked to speak to Bob's manager. Bob told me to wait until his manager was done taking a dump, so I politely stood there. When Bob's manager came out, he wouldn't even talk to me. Instead, he had a conference with Bob, and Bob came back to confirm, "Yeah, its like I told you, we aren't responsible when you spill gas". I exclaimed, "It spilled because your pump is broke!". But Bob was resolute. And Bob's Arabic-speaking manager was apparently constipated, as he made another dash for the back room. If you feel lucky, give them a try. Otherwise, just drive a mile north to the ARCO on Atlantic and San Antonio. Their gas is the same price, and they don't try to shaft you there. read more

The location + configuration of the entrances/exits and the pumps makes this place a complete cluster and a hotbed for road rage, despite not even being on a real road. It's impossible to get gas and actually exit the station in under 15 minutes. Also, the am/pm is a strange, strange place. Every time I've been inside (more than three times), I've been yelled at in some form by whom I presume is a homeless person (different people) who was using the soda machine or trying to obtain something without paying. I'm no stranger to it, but I'd prefer not to expect it every time I visit this one establishment. read more

As I waited for my changed, I asked that he put my item and change in my hand. His reply, i dont do that.
