We committed a carnal sin of driving to LA without making sure the car had full tank of gas. My daughters car can use either Ethanol or Unleaded gas. Not all gas stations offer the alternative gas & is extremely difficult to find so, The cool thing is that she downloaded an app that finds gas stations that offer ethanol gas. The cool thing that the app can search by cities; we selected Long Beach The app brought us to this Shell gas station way off the 405 freeway on Del Amo Blvd/Cherry St. This Shell gas station is very clean and well maintained and it has a small convenience store that sold a lucky Cal Lotto ticket that won 1 million dollars. Is a definitely a good-safe spot to get some gas & continue on our journey home. read more

Disappointed, I frequently wash my car here and have always liked the fact that the blow dryer at the end last as long as it does when drying your car off and the vacuum is conveniently located. They have since raised the price from $9 to $11. The disappointment is paying $11 for the best wash package they have only to experience the under carriage sprinklers don't work! There's a lot of love for this gas station! They do consistently have some of the lowest (non-Arco) prices on their gas. It's in a pretty convenient location as well; at the corner of Del Amo and Cherry, just north of San Antonio. And the exits are positioned well enough that you can easily get into the left turn lane on Del Amo in case you need to make a U turn to go west on Del Amo or left to go north on Cherry. I know that may be more information than you need, but I appreciate businesses that make it easy to go the direction you want to go when you leave. Some other cool things: *They have a car wash *They have (advertisement) TV's at the pumps *There is a Wienerschnitzel right next door, so if you are craving some wieners while you are getting gas, you could run over there and back while your tank fills! read more

How appropriate that this Shell gas station is located on Del Amo because I LOVE YOU! Yes, I said it! You know why? This station consistently has the lowest gas prices in all of LBC. [Mid-grade $3.09 as of 06/21/07] Plus, it's not cheapie Arco! Which coincidentally is kitty-corner from Shell. IF you want to save another 5 cents for more lower quality then by all means. Service was great. To minimize running around today I needed a quick and easy car wash late at nigh. Most car washed open like that are self serve and I just didn't feel comfortable doing that in a random neighborhood. I called around 10 to make sure the care wash was open late because I didn't want to drive out of my way for no reason. I got great customer service over the phone and even better customer service in the store. The car wash itself was a little pricier than others I have been to. I nought the $9 wash. I felt that it could've been easier to use with how far to drive up, but I figured it out eventually. The water pressure and air dry were a bit harsh in terms of pressure. I've never heard a car wash so loud. The drying phase was subpar. But I got what needed as far as a car wash at 1am and good service, so I was a happy camper. read more

I like coming here because of the discounts with your Ralph's rewards car and purchasing a cheap car wash. When combined it is about 35 cents less than the regular gas price for a gallon. Buy the car wash and if there is a line you can alway come back and do it later. The code is on your receipt so make sure you keep that hand. Staff here is sometimes a hot and miss. I only gave it a three star rating because I looked as hard as I could, but there weren't any shells to be found. How can you call yourself a shell station and allow yourself to run out of shells. I so hoped to find a large conch shell for my aquarium but, alas, none, nil, nada, zero!! The people there were nice but seemed confused when I asked where the shells were. I've been coming to this shell for as long as I can remember. Like before yelp even existed. Like before I could drive and remember streets. Come to think of it, this shell has been here for a very long time. (Means it's doing pretty well) Anyway this is one of my favorite gas stations because of the price and location (hence 4 stars). Some gas stations have that feel where you might get raped just for pumping gas or hustled for change. Being a female and pumping alone... You gals know what I'm talking about. I'll drive a little extra to this shell as oppose to one closer to me just because it feels safer. Located at a big busy intersection (why it's not a 5 star)... Nothing will happen to ya! One of the many reasons why I love my neighborhood? Cheap gas right around the corner. And I'm not talking about just cheap gas, I'm talking about the cheapest gas around. Just a hop and a skip away, I can go fill up my tank at this gas station, and know that I'm paying a good price for it. Besides the location, I also like that this gas station has a couple other features about it. 1. Windshield wipers and paper towels are always stocked. Great for days my car is a bit dirty and I just don't have time to go through the car wash. 2. Vacuum and air. If you get gas, the air is free. SCORE. I always like free. 3. Car Wash. With purchase of a car wash, you get $0.10/gallon off your gas. Nice, convenient, and a discount. I'll take it! 4. Plenty of space to maneuver. Yes, it can get a little crowded at times. Been going here for years and I live really close by. Between shell and 76 across the street they are pretty much the cheapest gas in the area. Shell gives you 10 cents off per gallon if you purchase a car wash with them this is my go to spot when I'm feeling lazy to wash my car. I'll alternate between 76 and shell depending on what side of the street I am but for those late nights and early mornings it's always shell since its open 24/7 so it's definitely more convenient. read more

I came here because I read that they had a vacuum and a car wash. The vacuum doesn't come free with the wash and it only last 3 minutes and costs 1.25 each time. 3 minuets isn't enough. Hey when I need to get a full tank, I drive out to this station because they are always one of the cheapest in all the Los Angeles area. They're located on a corner where there are two other fueling stations. So it's sometimes a tad akward to get into the place. You've got some soul searching to do if you come here. This station is convenient to my home, and I can use my Ralph's rewards here and save some money. Concerned, like this place, regular, but twice now it won't fill up my tank, stops filling at 3/4 full, and the price was off, way too high for my minimal 1/2 tank I bought (had more than a quarter of tank left). Every time I go here the people are friendly and courteous. I usually go here around 5:00 a.m. and the service people are usually awesome. I don't usually get gas I usually get air or a car wash. If I was reviewing the gas price I would give it four stars but today when I went Matt the service attendant working was awesome. Not only did he turn on the air but he also came out and checked it when I told him it didn't turn on. I also got a quart of oil and he asked if I needed any help. Keep in mind it was 5:30 a.m. and he was so helpful and so friendly it really started off my morning amazing. Thank you Matt. Anyway, there car was is reasonably priced and the gas station is so convenient being on the corner of Del Amo and Cherry right near my house. I love going to the Shell gas station on the corner of Cherry and Del Amo in Long Beach I've been going to this gas station for many many years I loved when they had the reward card after so many car washes your next car wash was free that program has ended I always get good customer service from the employees the other day when l went in Chris was my cashier excellent customer service with a smile I asked to speak to the manager Annette excellent customer service like always I had an issue with the car wash there was a recent update on the car wash system before the update I was pay $9 for the best car wash I always got a lot of compliments on how clean and shiny my car looked and it went up to $11 with the new update system the car wash system that they have now does not clean your car as good and my car is not as shiny so I contacted corporate to let them know how disappointed I was with this new update system they're going to email me back with information regarding this problem hopefully they can fix the problem because I will not pay $11 for my car to get washed when I got the best car wash for $9 this new update car wash systems should have been better than the $9 car wash I get five stars for the excellent customer service that I received far as the car wash that's out of the control of the store employees this is a corporate issue they need to fix read more

The ATM at the pump didn't work so I had to go inside. There was a long line because there was only one cashier. The "manager" finally opened up another line after I asked her and she first said she was too busy. Then the young man in front of me (who had been waiting in line for a long time) only had quarters and pennies to pay for his snacks. The "manager" wouldn't accept them; said she was too busy to count change. That was not true as there was now no line. She seemed flustered, stressed and offered absolutely NO customer service. read more
