You are going to love this story: This Chevron for years is a major last stop for cyclists before entering what is knows as Santiago Canyon. This station is at about mile 15 of my cycling warmup before I start Santiago. It is here that cyclists take measure of their stamina to complete the many hill climbs and rigor of getting through the canyons. You fill up with water, Gatorade, energy bars, food, cool off in the A/C, and last chance for a nice restroom. They have everything you need here to support your ride. Cyclists are major regulars here and they never use the pumps! Failure to stop here before entering Santiago for the 20+ mile ride through the canyons back out on the other end to Jamboree will result in you being a good dinner for Coyotes. That is how important this Chevron is to the cycling community. And like a couple of weeks ago--I checked my legs, and watch after the climb up Alton to this Chevron and decided not to do it. Maybe next time. But I love the sport top Gatorade's hard to find in other places. And their refrigerators keep the drinks COLD!

One good thing of 7-11 gas stations is their 7Rewards program. You can sign up from your phone and get discounts immediately. It was $0.11 off per gallon, then fluctuated based on your usage. I am not sure whether 7-11 positions itself as low-cost fuel stations but this one is consistently cheaper than other gas stations in the area. This station also sells diesel for those who uses it. It seems 7-11 takes better care of their consumables. The squeegees are new and actually works. It opens 24x7 so comes in whenever at your convenience.

It literally took 15 minutes to pump 20 gallons…read more I thought I was overreacting the first time, the second time I chalked it up the pump, but this time I LITERALLY timed it. Also, each time I went to a different pump. I'd say it was some weird method of getting people to buy stuff at the convenience store but after I heard the click I noticed that the pump had OVERFILLED my tank and gasoline had spilled all over the ground. I didn't even know that could happen given the strict requirements around pumping gas. Regulators and/or Lawyers would have a field day with this place. The lack of maintenance is quite possibly negligent. Who knows how much money these pumps have taken from customers. Not to mention the environmental impact.
