I was looking for an intimate, local coffee shop on a Sunday that is open past 1pm (apparently nonexistent), so I stumbled here just because it was close to the other shop I tried to go to. This place screams local, quaint, and is the definition of independent coffee from the decor to the ambiance. With just enough chatter to keep it interesting, but not too loud to get work done or enjoy a book. Can really never go wrong with Archetype for breakfast or just coffee. The coffee is strong and handcrafted as good coffee should be and the breakfast selection is of quality. Driving through Omaha on way to Cali and tried to stop in and try five spots and this spot clearly took first prize. Quality bean selection and nice comfortable vibe. Pour over options were plenty and the bean choices were a good mix of flavors and regions. I went with the cold brew while a blend of beans it had a nice smooth flavor and was top quality. We visited this place for the first time today (Saturday) so I want to take that into consideration because it was decently busy. With that being said, the overall aesthetic of the coffee shop is darling-- natural light, lots of cute merch, and plants all over. However the service I received and quality of food/drink/suggestions were sub par. When it was time to order after getting through the wait in the line, the man taking our orders said he hadn't tried either of the meal options I was asking questions about which is odd so I just had to guess which one would be better. And then I asked for a cold brew and just said "flavor it with what you know is good how you think it would be best" and he didn't flavor it at all so I was handed a plain cold brew. My cold brew tasted very bitter and it also wasn't any better after my husband asked for some milk and vanilla flavor to be added. Seating was not optimal when it was busy but we have a double stroller so I won't count that against them. The food came out hot and had a beautiful presentation. I had ordered the sandwich that I think is called KG signature breakfast sandwich, which had a LARGE hunk of sausage on it. If you're not a huge fan of sausage then this is not for you. I gave the sausage to my husband so that the sandwich was just the havarti cheese, eggs, bread and arugula. Tasted much better! My husband got the pesto toast with egg and it was delicious. The hashbrowns and bacon were both yummy. There are restrooms here but I didn't see a changing table (I could have missed it though). I was dissatisfied with the overall experience, mostly due to the fact that the person who was working the register not being very helpful. He wasn't rude though! Unfortunately it was a poor first impression since mine and my husbands coffees tasted yucky and I couldn't even finish it. read more

Even during covid, the peeps behind the counter are kind and personal, drinks are made practically right in front of you and milk alternative options are on the menu. Not only are lattes and true macchiatos crafted, but fine homemade pastries are available. Also, ummm if you've never tried a breakfast egg roll from the Nice Rollz peeps in the kitchen please do yourself a favor and order one; sweet or spicy sauce is also optional. Archetype probably roasts Omaha's best coffee. Their Little Bohemia location might just be the best overall coffee shop in town, too. It's open, modern layout and chic design almost forces you to bust out your phone and start posting cute photos online. This also makes it a very comfortable place to work or have a meeting. While of course the coffee is fantastic (grab a bag of beans for home), there's also a few beers on tap if you'd like to imbibe. That and an expanding cafe menu full of in-house baked goods. All that said, don't expect to get a $1.50 drip coffee here. Still, anything you do get will be top-notch, even if you're paying a bit more for it. read more

Something about this little place drew me in and after going inside I know why. I was very surprised by the size and the vast difference in people sitting with computers, sipping coffee, and talking. OK WHOA. I've been a fan of the Archetype Blackstone for a number of years, and there are so many little things I appreciated; like them being dog friendly and having wifi and a little patio...etc. but the little Bohemia location really is amazing inside and blows Blackstone out of the water! Not only is is full of light (windows on 3 sides of the building vs only 1 in Blackstone), but it's spacious and you can work or chat without overpowering the person next you. I love a good cozy coffee shop- but the parking in Blackstone is becoming annoying and it sucks when I meet someone to work and there isn't a table for us. Little Bohemia has gorgeous natural light, tons of space, the same menu, light pastries and snacks, and really really pretty architecture. Since this street is not overly populated, there is lots of street parking and they also have their own lot. The patio here is also in the works and looks amazing (big!). My only ask is this- I like coffee, but sometimes dont want coffee/macha/chai aka caffeine. It would be nice for them to have something else available to drink (kombucha?, italian soda, tea juice? hot chocolate/cider in the winter months?) Maybe they'll add something like this to the menu soon. Until then, still good. Visit them soon! read more

As a hopeless Java addict, I was delighted to read about Archetype Coffee when I relocated to Omaha; it was one of the first places I made a point of checking out. When we arrived, I noted the modern, inviting, comfortable-looking venue. It seems like a great place to meet someone, or to just hang out, sip some Java and get some work done :-) When I placed our order for two lattes, I was immediately impressed by the TLC lavished on them by the friendly barista. He even remade one of them (without my asking) because he said it didn't "pour right". At the end he added some beautiful coffee art using the foam. When I took my first sip, I noticed how nicely the espresso had been complemented by just the right quantity of milk; it was smooth with a creamy, velvety taste and heated to exactly the right temperature. Bottom line: Archetype Coffee brews some completely legit espresso drinks! The service is first class, and the ambiance is just what the doctor ordered. I've always liked the Archetype coffee in Blackstone, but ever since this location opened up on 13th street, I like it more than ever. They serve among the best coffee in town, especially their competition blends, and they have a good selection of pastries on the weekend. Their presentation is always on point, especially their pour over, which comes in a neat carafe with a small cup from which to drink. On Sundays they offer wonderful brunch options (the pocket taco being my favorite). The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. I find myself here almost every weekend to sit and have a coffee and relax or work. It's become one of my favorite places to meet friends in all of Omaha. My only complaints are that there are few options on the menu for those trying to pursue a low carb diet, and that there could be a few more power outlets for people trying to sit and work. read more

Have to admit my trip to Archetype was a bit disappointing...my chai was bland and the coffee cake was dry. Boyfriend reports their coffee is bomb however. I likely won't be visiting again. Great coffee. Archetype has the most interesting coffee in Omaha! Great service. Friendly and attentive baristas who are always so busy! Great location. I can't wait for more stores and shops to open up in this location. And such an interesting interior - the openness can seem a little cold, but the warm wood provides a nice contrast. I think they want to keep the front area clear for the after-hours crowd, but I would like it if there were more tables. Maybe some high tops? The singletons with laptops have already found this spot and are taking over the tables for four. Great food. The sour dough pancakes are my absolute favorite thing to have for brunch on Sunday. I'm so stoked to see the bohemia area expanding with gems like Archetype. We stopped in for their Sunday brunch and were delighted with their options for both coffee and food. We had the cold brew, eggs in a basket and the sweet potato hash; all of which was great! We added an egg and bacon to the sweet potato and it arrived with quite the kick in spice but it complimented the dish very well. The goat cheese and carmelized onion on the egg in the basket dish made for quite the addictive flavor combo. I was happy to see that they offer beer, wine, cocktail, and food options for the after work crowd along with coffee beans and merch for sale. It seems as though there will be patio seating once it warms up some *jazz hands*. Being so close to work, I may have a hard time staying away. read more

I have tried nearly every coffee shop in Omaha and I have a couple things to say: 1) Theirs is the only coffee I loveeeee to drink black. 2) I have tried ALL of the matcha, I consider myself a bit of a matcha snob. I don't like it when the matcha is from a cheap mix or is a super bitter, non ceremonial grade matcha. But Archetype GETS IT. The taste of their matcha is lovely (and actually tastes like matcha) and their baristas really mix it properly which is surprisingly rare to find around Omaha. No clumpy, bitter or overly sweet matcha here:) Their baristas are always super sweet too! read more

Their coffee is top notch, roasted in-house, and their food is an adventure in flavor. We got the Korean egg bread after the barista recommended it. It taste like a sweet vanilla muffin, topped with melted cheese and a hard boiled egg in the center. It sounds bizarre, but trust me, it is amazing.
