As mentioned, Mudd Studio offers wheel throwing and hand building workshops of various lengths (1 day, 3 day, etc.) They also offer studio membership. As a member, you have 24 hour access to the studio as well as use of the equipment, supplies, glazes, etc. My wife has never mentioned a negative thing about the place or people there - only that it is a positive, supportive and inspiring community. Its location in Chinatown (Smith Street) makes it a great addition to the local art scene. Support local businesses!

Our instructor, Paola, was fantastic--she explained each step clearly and gave us plenty of space to experiment and practice at our own pace. She struck the perfect balance between guidance and freedom, and I always felt supported. Between the two of us, we made four pieces: two cute little ice cream bowls, a pretty little green cup, and a small planter that I'm absolutely in love with. The class was fun, relaxed, and such a great way to connect--not only with each other, but also with the other classmates in our small group. I can't wait to go back and keep learning (and creating)!

Fees are reasonable for the weekly one hour class. The gym is located in an industrial complex on the west side of Honolulu. Parking is a chore and walking into the complex is downright dangerous with toddlers and cars flying. The entrance needs to have a car-free zone to improve safety. Seating for parents is manageable but uncomfortable. Restrooms are clean.

They give you different wristbands which represents the time you paid for and planned to stay here for. Open gym happens every 1st Friday of the each month. Used to be open gym every Friday every week. When coming here, there are cubbies to place your items. Bring less and leave everything else at home. There's a sitting area for those who aren't jumping or tumbling too. Very minimal parking but a whole lot of street parking near Texaco gas/car wash. One thing that I'd highly recommend is just the sanitization or upkeep of the equipment. They don't have any wipes or sprays to provide and I'm not sure if they clean them at the end of the night. -./")\.-

We had to reschedule one time but they were super understanding and I was easily able to reschedule on the Airbnb app! The owner Chiara, was super friendly and welcoming when we arrived! She went through all the steps and safety to ensure our experience was seamless. We brought our own designs and got them approved by her but she also has examples you can use as inspiration too. If you bring your own design, for first timers I recommend something simple with simple lines and colors so you don't feel too rushed. You also have to draw your own design on the canvas but done worry too much if you're not confident in your drawing skills. The process is very forgiving so it'll still turn out good even if you don't draw your design perfectly! We had so much fun and loved how our pieces turned out! I highly recommend booking a tufting class here to anyone!

I brought my first year Mustang team to Hawaii Baseball Academy, as we had 4 players new to…read morebaseball and many were in their first year of the Mustang division. A good number of players were short arming their throws and didn't have the basics down. Hawaii Baseball Academy/Cory Ishigo set up a clinic for the kids, with four skills stations including stretching (throwing, catching for catchers, pitching and batting). From the start, I could see the kids developing better throwing motions and technique. I noticed many of the new players started throwing with much better velocity after the stretching and throwing drills. The kids really enjoyed the experience of the clinic (held at the Kailua High School baseball field) going from skill station to skill station, as well as training at a high school facility. The coaches were great, they were very supportive and positive. The stretching and throwing drills took the longest (2 hour clinic) which cut into the batting drills. We were running out of time so the batting drills were a bit rushed (hence the 4 star rating, otherwise 5 star for everything else), but I was very happy with the clinic overall. I also had my two boys take Cory's pitching clinic the week before and both threw with much better velocity and technique after the clinic. I highly recommend HBA/Cory to any parent that wants their child to receive proper and professional baseball instruction.

My biggest advice is that your experience is what you make of it so whether you are a large group and you adopt a couple in or a couple who needs to get adopted in, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and just have fun. The host will do their best to run the show smoothly and fun, but at the end of the day you can really determine your fun, and let me tell you, it's also not that hard. This is one of my favorite activities to do ever since it came to Oahu because of the variety depending on who you bring or the games you play. I also love that it's fun for all ages and for anyone's level of common/uncommon knowledge. It's one of the most unique activities on Oahu (IMO) and it's so worth more than one visit.

We set up three tents together, foldable tables, chairs and the bbq grill. It was so nice and cool with no bugs since the wind was blowing pretty hard. We munched our way through the entire match with our own picnic foods. The kids played on the white sand and swam on the beach. The polo match was pretty intense and there is a halftime where you can mash divots. There's a porta potty on rsvp side and trash cans. Only thing that we lacked was running water. Wish they had a hose or a faucet. Next time we bring jugs of water to help wash up after a dip in the ocean. Definitely a must for everyone!
