I would eat ice cream every day if I could! I love trying out local ice cream spots so I had to check out Arcata Scoop in Humboldt County. This shop was so cute and the staff who helped me that day were friendly. I opted for the double scoop and tried their popular lemon poppyseed along with some other flavors. I thought the portion sizes were smaller compared to other nearby ice cream shops. I also thought the ice cream flavors weren't very strong. I thought it could use more lemon flavor in the lemon poppyseed ice cream and more chocolate flavor in the chocolate ice cream. This shop unfortunately didn't make it to my memorable list, but I can understand it can be popular amongst the locals. read more

It reminded me of eating lemon poppyseed muffins. I'm not surprised that it's a flavor one of the gals recommended. The homemade waffle cone wasn't my favorite but it wasn't terrible either. My only comment is that the texture got kinda chewy at the bottom where the cone starts to overlap on itself. I will 100% be back next time I am visiting. I ordered half a pint of Olive Oil ice cream and it came in a cute little container! Unfortunately, they did not have any utensils! Not only was it delicious, it was the best tasting Vanilla ice cream I've had in recent memory!
