When the fabric tore it seemed easy enough to replace... NOPE! The company doesn't make that model and no luck online, we looked at other bags. How can there be so many bags that won't work as well as this one? Maybe it's because his needs are specific, but sheesh! Seems we could find a replacement, right?! Now it's time for the repair. The fabric was torn away from the trim, so repair didn't seem possible, and this wonderful man described how he could repair it, but it wouldn't look like it had new. At this point, we really didn't need anesthetics - we needed function. The repair turned out GREAT! He stitched webbing in a way no one would even notice, and the tear is completely gone! Hubby is thrilled to have *that* bag back in use!

Even if I didn't live down the road, I would drive out of my way for this place! Dropped my Burju heels off on Tuesday and they were ready the next day! I spent a lot on these shoes, so it was frustrating to see the heel caps deteriorate so quickly. I was basically dancing on the metal screw the last few months, so I desperately needed the repair. He put brand new caps on within a day and it only cost $14!! I will be sending all my dance friends here, and I will be back for sure! He works on belts, bags, purses, suitcases, shoes, you name it, so if you have some favorite items that need some repair instead of having to donate or trash them, definitely stop in here to see if he can fix it! He clearly is passionate about what he does and is extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

Initially I took my shoes to the shoe repair shop on Hayden and Shea (Scottsdale) close to my home but the owner was gruff and said he didn't have time to deal with it. This was not the first time he was like this. If he can't be bothered on a small request why should I continue to bring my shoes and leather belts to repair or re-size? Some folks just don't get it regarding customer service. Please see Boris for all your leather goods and shoe repair needs. He is very accomodating.

Fast forward 4 weeks later and still no call. He stopped by there today and was told it'll be ready in 5 minutes. The woman quotes a price of $25 off the top of her head. Mind you, the work on the belt was good but $25 to simply shorten a belt AND they never even called to tell him it was ready. Now we know why they didn't call because it wasn't ready. She did the work when he came to pick it up. Good customer service isn't just about doing the actual work, it's also how you treat your customers.

Second place I went to the customer service was pretty unfriendly and then they charged what seemed to me to be a pretty hefty fee. I went with it cuz i wasn't sure if this was market for the area. But then I found GK Custom. First of all even if the owner is wearing an Ohio apron (go Badgers) he was friendly and personable. Great conversation about football. Then said yes, he was not only able to do what the first guy said was not possible, he then charged less and far more reasonably for the other job I was quoted. Picked up those two pair of shoes yesterday and the work is great so I dropped off another pair of shoes. I have to drive a bit further to get here, but it's worth it. Highly recommend.
