The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Dropped a shoe off for repair, was told a 3 week turn around. I called 4 weeks later and was told they could not find my shoe...!!! I texted them a photo, they FOUND my shoe that was not repaired. Told me 2 more days. I came by 4 days later and it wasn't ready! The man slammed my shoe on the glass countertop and told me to wait 15 minutes and "look at the jewelry". Frankly I was intimidated by the way he spoke to me after slamming the shoe down. An absolute disgrace of a business and a deeply disrespectful man. I came in for the first time with several shoes in need of repair--one being a brand new pair of $800 Lobbs I purchased specifically for a wedding. I was trying to explain, although the didn't listen, that the venue had cobblestones that caught the heel and caused a small tear in the leather. I asked if it could be touched up to prevent further damage. Instead, this arrogant shop owner--who boasts of "50 years of custom shoemaking experience"--damaged my shoes with a pen, after I explicitly told him not to touch the soles and that I wasn't interested in resoling the other Lobus I brought in, a pair we discussed before moving onto this one. Why he chose to mark up and permanently ruin my shoes is beyond me. He must hate young women. He ignored me completely as I spoke asking to not touch the soles, still pushing a rubber re-sole that would destroy the value of the shoe. I declined--multiple times--yet he continued to talk over me, steamrolling the conversation and grabbing my shoes to mark up with his ball point pen without my consent. There is no also posted pricing, no transparency, and he seems to just throw out numbers as he sees fit. Despite my clear instructions, he left a permanent dent and ink line on $800 shoes. The mark isn't on the sole--it's on the arch, pressed into the leather where it will never wear off. After I told him I had changed my mind and wanted a second opinion, he tried to salvage the situation with a discount. I told him the truth: I'm disappointed you permanently marked brand new designer shoes because you couldn't listen. That's when he backpedaled, tried scrubbing it off (unsuccessfully). At one point he had the nerve to try to sell me someone else's beat-up Lobus, when he should have been listening to me say NOT TO TOUCH THE DAMN SOLES. he also marked the one shoe that wasn't scuffed from the cobblestone so now the entire pair needs repair vs the one shoe I was originally asking about. As I prepared to leave and gave honest feedback, he scoffed and said, "I have many customers." I replied: "And you just failed to earn a new one." To anyone reading this: He doesn't deserve your business. He will damage your property and gaslight you out the door. With an attitude this rotten and a total disregard for others' belongings, I doubt this shop will last another five years--let alone 50. Shame on you, JR read more

I stopped in today (Fri) with a canvas briefcase that had a seam torn loose. JR said he could repair it and asked if Monday would be alright for pickup. I reluctantly said yes, and stated I worked Monday, but I could stop by after work. Realizing I would like to have it for work on Monday morning, he said, "I'll do it for you now." I know how frustrating it can be to be interrupted by someone expecting prompt service, and while I didn't expect same day service, JR's willingness to provide it was greatly appreciated. Charged $40 to reglue bottoms of shoes which I was fine with. Called the day they were ready and upsold me for $20 to stitch them to "last forever". I agreed and was horrified when I picked them up. To the left (front of the shoe) you can see the factory black stitching, all the way around the side and rear is the horrific Brown? Stitching this place did that totally looks ghetto. So, first thing's first: I brought in a pair of boots to fix the lost heel bit. Plus two backpacks that needed new zippers. These items are now complete. They work fine, thanks JR's. But my experience was bewildering. I walked in with my items and an older gentleman told me the prices of each with a time frame of next Tuesday. Okay, cool. You pay up front, so I handed him my card, which caused a slight issue because he didn't know how to work the card machine, so he just handed me the iphone with Square, or whatever that is, to run my own card. "Do you know how to work this?" he asked me, then kind of walked away. Um, no, but apparently I'm learning today?? So I ran my own card and he handed me a ticket for pickup. I left. I returned after next Tuesday. Handed the same gentleman my ticket and say I'm there to pick up. He asks what I brought in... I'm curious now - because isn't that what the ticket was for? But I tell him a pair of black boots and two backpacks. He disappears into the back for an extended period of time. When he reemerges, he asks me what color boots? Black. He's gone again. He asks what kind of purse? Two backpacks, one is floral. He's gone again. He has a bag of several brown boots for me to review. No, black heeled, knee-high boots. I am now concerned. Finally, he returns with my boots and both backpacks. We are both relieved. I zip the bags. Cool, they work, but the new zippers are both a different color (gold instead of silver or whatever the opposite is) than the other zippers, which probably wouldn't have bothered me if everything else were going okay. Whatever, my lunch break is already taking longer than I expected to pick this stuff up, so I pick up my boots and he takes them from me, saying he's sorry, he'll go buff those. He disappears once more to the back. Oh goodness. He finally hands me the boots again and the heel looks fine. He starts complimenting me while I'm inspecting them, saying how beautiful I am and that I should tell my husband how lucky he is. Sure, I scoff, I'll tell him when I find him. He continues to compliment me and I wonder if it's a distraction tactic because this experience took so darn long. I escape out the door and make a deal with the devil never to break another heel or zipper for as long as I live. read more
