I would never recommend this business to anyone. I hired the owner, Matt Sachs, to liquidate my mom's house after she developed Alzheimer's and had to move out of her home urgently, which she lived in for about 20 years. She had accumulated a good amount of quality pieces/antiques, furniture, rugs, etc. Matt was very personable, trustworthy, I really liked him and felt good about the contract in the beginning. Things were good for months, but eventually, when I started to ask for updates and accounting paperwork, he vanished. I tried to give him some grace, knowing his job is demanding and he's also a Dad, but he kept putting me off telling me he had to "speak to some people" about pieces to see where they ended up. One time he admittedly told me that my account was "closed out accidentally," but would re-open it and follow-up. The entire business deal got very sketchy toward the end, and to this day, I never heard from him again and I never got a final accounting for my mom's belongings. On top of the stress of becoming my mother's caretaker and conservator, and dealing with her illness and loss of independence, I had to carry the stress of chasing this guy down for what was owed to my Mom. I even went to a lawyer, and we sent out response requests with a strong fist, but Matt was radio silent, as expected. We also found out this was not the first time he had litigation against him (not a shock.) I could have pursued this further and placed a lien on his house, but I decided not to go ahead with this. Maybe I'm too nice... Maybe I just wanted the stress to go away, and didn't want to lose more money in the process. Either way you look at it, I'm not sure how someone like this sleeps at night. Very upsetting. The real estate agent who recommended him to me was mortified and will never recommend him again. Whatever his reason was, the very least he could've done was be honest. He could've told me he lost items. I'm an understanding person, but he went about this very unprofessionally and I still think about this all the time. Most people can never act like this in their place of work and get away with it. Since I didn't push ahead with a lawsuit, I feel the very least I can do is warn other people so they don't end up in the same place. Do not hire Matt Sachs. Much like the other review I am finding here, he started out OK, disappeared for a couple of weeks in the middle of cleaning out the house, came back and did a good job on the clean-out, but then disappeared, having taken a house full of property he was to have sent to auction and pay me a percentage of the proceeds. He just disappeared into the ether, refused to answer calls or email messages. Ultimately, he is dishonest. Do not trust his references, I called the professionals he listed and they were mortified to learn that he uses their names as references. read more

DO NOT do business with Arcadia Cleanouts and Liquidation. I signed a contract with Matt Sachs. The cleanout was scheduled to begin on August 27, 2024 and be completed by the end of September. Work did not begin until the middle of September. It was not completed until the end of October. During this time I spoke with Matt numerous times about the delay. The contract stated that anything sellable from my house would be sent to an auction house and consignment shop. I was to receive 50% of the sale price. I have received no money. I contacted both the auction house and consignment shop listed in my contract and they both told me they had received no items from my house. Since I sent him the final payment, I have repeatedly called, texted and written to Matt asking him to call me to explain what happened to the items from my house. Really liked these guys. Personable & professional. I called them to help with a regular move and partial clean-out. Many of the things I would've tossed or pretended I was going to sell at a tag/estate sale, I ended up passing along to them to distribute to auction & online sales. I got back close to $500 when I wasn't expecting anything which was a pretty sweet deal & offset the price I paid for labor. These guys were really likable, they worked pretty quickly and the owner Matt know what sells vs. what doesn't & gives you all the facts straightforwardly which I appreciated. read more

Matt and his team did an amazing job. I am SO disheartened to see this one person who left a negative review because my experience was absolutely opposite to what she is saying. Arcadia Cleanouts came highly recommended by my realtor and after the death of a close family member our heads were spinning. having so much to do and not wanting to get taken advantage of. The quote outlined in contract was extremely fair. In liquidating the estate, it takes time for items to sell, not every piece gets liquidated in one fell swoop... so for example maybe items 1-15 sold in month 1 and items 15- 25 sold by month 3. I am guessing the woman who left the sour review is either a competitor or a customer who didn't recognize this aspect of the process. Matt, the owner, would never take advantage of someone. My realtor has worked with him for over a decade and more than once has remarked on his trustworthiness. read more

I would NEVER recommend Arcadia/Matt Sachs as he took advantage of my father after the loss of my mother and the estate belonging! Not only did he not produce a contract upon the initial removal of the estate items he never even gave my father a list of all the contents that he took. Weeks had gone by without any reply from him as to the status of payment so an Attorney had to get involved along with the advice of the police department as to what to do! No family should have to go through what we experienced especially after a loss. He should be ashamed of himself for what he did to my father and our family! read more
