How do you run out of roast beef at 8:00 on a Sat. It's happened before. I'll go somewhere else.

Wings were on the rubbery side not crispy. Brisket salad was mostly toppings, little lettuce. Brisket was flavorful but dry. Burger was very flavorful, and delicious, the burger bun was the best part - very good burger and bun. I had high expectations I guess. Visited 5/7/26.

The place was fully booked, but the hostess saved the day and offered us lounge seating on the sofas. Honestly, it felt a little VIP...like we'd accidentally wandered into the cool kids' corner. I halfway considered putting on my sunglasses indoors just to commit to the moment, maybe even asking if they offered bottle service in the lounge. Within 10 minutes we were settled in and already getting excellent service. And as if the vibe wasn't good enough, there was a one‑man show crooning jazzy tunes in the background. He was smooth, talented, and added just the right soundtrack for an early dinner. Think "speakeasy energy," but suburban‑friendly. Now, the food. My husband ordered the Crunchy Pig sandwich, my sister went for the half rack of ribs, and I claimed the smoked turkey BLT. Everything hit the table about 20 minutes later, hot, fresh, and so lip‑smacking tasty that we inhaled every bite before remembering we meant to take pictures. My apologies to the food‑photo purists; trust me, the plates were camera‑ready before we destroyed them. If you find yourself wandering around The District in Midlothian, do yourself a righteous favor and grab a memorable meal here. Great food, great service, great music, and apparently great sofas.

It looks nice and well maintained both inside and outside. Plenty of parking as it is part of a shopping center. When I arrived there were a few people ahead of me, so there was a short wait, but that gave me time to look over the menu. I chose an Italian Night 8" sub in the lunch box which includes your choice of chips, a pickle spear and a cookie. The service could have been better. When a first time customer comes in it helps if the person taking the order can explain some options or how things work there. The bread is fresh baked, like a soft baguette, but denser and skinnier than the bread used by a well known sub competitor. I only saw one option: white, in two sizes: 8" or 16" long. The ingredients, both the meats, cheese and veggies were fresh and reasonably portioned. Still it was good and with the denser bread was very filling. I didn't see any sauce options to add flavor. They used mayo and a sprinkling of oregano. While it was good, I felt it was bland and would have enjoyed it more with additional seasoning: spicy mustard, Italian dressing, oil and vinegar, jalapeno, or something. The pickle spear helped! The cookie was also very good. I chose the oatmeal and raisin. I could have eaten more of those! This review is written during the COVID19 pandemic. Everyone was required to wear masks except for when eating at the table. There were just a few people seated at tables. Most were there for takeout. I did not see the restrooms. But what I could see of the dining room and the kitchen, everything seemed very clean. Prices were a bit on the high side IMHO ($10.81 without a drink), considering what other sandwich shops offer and charge. For the same price, I could have gotten a hot Ruben stacked with half a pound of pastrami, (and chips and a pickle) at another chain. I would give them another try. I will just make sure I ask about added seasoning or take my own ground chili piquin for added spice!
