Ordered a Gyros yesterday. It came with only about half, maybe even less, the meat that you normally receive.

They were out of most items on their menu. The cashier said that someone forgot to order food items for this week!

We stopped in on the recommendation of a local shop owner while we were visiting Bryson City, and I'm so glad we did. Being from the Tampa area, we're pretty picky about Cuban sandwiches. They're a staple back home, so our expectations were high. The owner happened to be there and confidently recommended the Cuban, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. There was a short wait while it was made fresh, but it was well worth it. The sandwich was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and honestly tasted like a little piece of home. We packed it up and enjoyed it before heading out for an afternoon of tubing, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The shop itself is charming, clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere where you can sit down and enjoy your meal. We didn't try the sweets this time, but they looked delicious and give us another reason to come back. Meeting the owner made the experience even better. He was friendly, welcoming, and clearly takes pride in what he serves. Whether you're a fellow Floridian missing a great Cuban or you've never had one before, do yourself a favor and stop by High Test Deli & Sweet Shop. It's absolutely worth it. This is an easy 5-star recommendation, and we'll be back the next time we're in Bryson City.

The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the prices were surprisingly affordable. The service was great--friendly, attentive, and efficient. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it was a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. It's not always easy to find a place that delivers good food, good service, and good value, but High Test Deli did all three. We would definitely stop by again the next time we're in the area.

The bagels were very different from any we have had before, had a very home baked bread taste. The sweet potato bowl was very flavorful and hit just the right note for lunch. We did get a couple baked goods to go as well. The coffee was pretty good, they have tons of flavors to choose from and make some signature drinks too. The staff is very friendly and will give excellent recommendation. The decor is rustic cute. Worth a visit!!!

The shop itself is adorable, clean, and had a steady flow of customers. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered an iced dirty chai latte, which is my go-to whenever I'm trying a new coffee shop because it's a pretty reliable way to compare places. It was good, and exactly what I was hoping for. I also tried the cinnamon roll. It was tasty, but pretty standard. Looking back, I think I'd try one of their other bakery items next time. My friend ordered one of their homemade biscuits. It took quite a while to come out--around 15 to 20 minutes--and several other customers were served before we received it. It honestly felt like the biscuit may have been forgotten, which was a little disappointing. Overall, though, we had a pleasant experience. Nothing was overpriced, the staff was kind, and it's the type of local place I always encourage travelers to support. While there are a couple of other coffee shops in Bryson City I'd probably try before returning, I still think La Dolce Vita Bakery is worth a visit so you can form your own opinion. Every café has busy days, and one experience doesn't define a business. If you're looking for a cozy local spot for coffee and a pastry while exploring downtown Bryson City, it's definitely worth stopping in.

Husband got the Orange Creamsicle which tasted very much like a Sunkist in the best way. We saw another table get a flight which could have been fun too. It was an odd time of day, not lunch or dinner so we ordered some things to share: buffalo chicken flatbread was the clear winner. Perfect level of heat, not oily or too cheesy like you'll sometimes get, and the flatbread was so good: crunchy on the bottom and a good chew. Wedge salad was also very good. Fried pickles were okay, we both agreed if the slices were thinner the chips would have had better crunch. Service was very attentive and our waiter offered recommendations. Only minor quibbles kept this from 5 stars: when we got our food the waiter asked if we needed anything else and offered ranch for the pickles, we accepted, but then on the bill there was a 75 cent charge for the ranch, not a big deal but annoying since he offered it. And other things seemed to have pretty high prices too, even for a tourist town. For example: I can't bring myself to pay $18 for a pretzel.

The…read morewedge salad was a bit watery, bacon pieces should've been bigger and blue cheese was of lower quality. It wouldn't take much to make an OK salad into something really good. The buffalo chicken flatbread was OK. I did like the crust. There was very little chicken on it and for $15, they could have used a bit more. Reading the past reviews, there seems to be regular issues with people sharing, even if they're ordering the same amount of entrées as people. While we weren't charged like other people, we had an odd experience with getting plates to share entrees. When we were served our lunch, we asked for two plates so we could share. We were first offered two tiny ones, like the size of a saucer that would go under a coffee cup. we asked for larger ones so we could split the entrées and eat on our separate plates but was only brought one. We gave up then but it was strange like no one's ever wanted to share food before? All in all it was fine. We sat at outside table which was nice and it's in a good location, right downtown.
