They were happy to price match and even thanked me for the opportunity, which is rare these days. They've planted trees in our backyard, for my mom, and for neighbors too -- and every experience has been consistent, clean, and professional. Arbortec has taken care of me and my trees for years. Several years ago, during a wind storm, a VERY large blue spruce's roots damage my porch tiles. They came out and said that 'it was lucky that the ground was hard', or the tree would have come down on my home. Scheduled to take down the following week. The owner showed up the next morning, and said that he wanted to look at the tree. Felt it was too dangerous to wait until the following week. They were there the next day. I felt very taken care of!!! Just had Melesio and John out to remove a liliac tree, trim dead branches over the roof and lighten some branches on another blue spruce. They removed the stump and some additional dead branches (while they were there) on the spruce. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. and very kind. HIRE THEM!!! read more

Had a great relationship with Arbortec up until our latest proposal. After paying them over $16000 in services over the past few years, the owner Dennis J. Shea decided to stop service simply because I asked him to validate that the arborvitae he planted were the size I paid for. I paid $2960 for 6 ft. Arborvitae and he purchased and planted 5 ft. Arborvitae. Owner got frustrated and partially refunded me $800 for the "perceived" differences and then later stated the refund was for the warranties, which he voided on my plantings. He refused to provide the invoice from the Tree Farm. Be careful when dealing with this company, especially for planting -- it's likely they may try to scam you. Very unprofessional behavior from the owner. Avoid and go with a more ethical company instead. read more

Arbortec Tree...So awful...the owner Dennis Shea sent an uncertified and untrained employee to my home without scheduling or getting my approval for ANY work to be performed. This guy, Dylan Dobbins, did the worst "pruning" job I have ever seen done to a tree. He basically killed my favorite tree right in front of my home by cutting 50% of the healthy limbs out of it for absolutely no reason. He butchered three other of my beautiful mature trees. I am filing an ethics complaint against this company and probably having to sue them because of the damage to my landscape. What a nightmare. Arbortec tree service is the worst business on the planet. They aren't tree lovers, they love easy money. They say they love trees. I call BS. The only GREEN these guys care about is CASH. They will lie to you, come to your home without your approval, and the owner will send unskilled, untrained, and uncertified employees to your home to do permanent irreparable damage to your landscape!!! Dennis, the owner, came to our home and spoke to me about some much-needed tree trimming. I felt that he listened to my concerns, and I received a reasonable estimate for the work. However, when I spoke to Nicole in his office to schedule the work (which was about 4 weeks out), she indicated that she could not give me a time or time window for the work until the morning of the work. Really?? This means that I could not schedule any of my personal activities that day because the crew could be there at 9 a.m. or 4 p.m. I moved on to another locally owned service, whose rep was pleased to not just give me a window of time, but rather an *exact* time that their crew would show up. I'm really not sure why other potential customers would put up with this lack of scheduling ability. read more

They were very professional, courteous and really went the extra mile to ensure we were happy with the tree removal. We had a great experience with Arbortec. Came to remove 3 big aspen trees and some large stumps. The guys were quick, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves really nicely! There were a ton of tiny twigs from downing the trees - they got every one. One of the biggest trees was back by the house, cornered by a fence, our house, and the neighbor's. They were very good about getting it down without any risk to property. We highly recommend them for tree removal and we'll be looking at them first for future tree services, too. read more

I asked what we could do for some struggling spruces, and Dennis said some fertilizer treatment should help. I was skeptical, but the trees grew a few feet in the year since and now I'm a believer. I recently hired Arbortec to prune a 30+ foot maple that had lots of dead branches and was encroaching on my house and the neighbor's. Last week, we called and scheduled an appointment for Arbortec to come and trim our Maple tree. NOTE: They trimmed it last year (charged us $150.00!) and this year the tree looks horrible and is not growing out evenly and looks bad! They said they would be out here this morning and I just now got a call from Dennis at Arbortec who said he wasn't coming this morning because they are too busy to come out to our area (Gee thanks for the advance notice Dennis, we were expecting you this morning!). He said I should call another company in my area and he could give me their phone number. I asked him if there was any warranty on the work he did last year. He said well is there a warranty on a haircut? I told him ya, if you got a bad hair cut you could go back to the salon and get it fixed. He said "do you want the number to a salon in your area?" That's when I decided it was time to end the conversation. The guy is rude, the service is bad and I will recommend to everybody I know to stay away from this company! Bad news!
