This is a few months late but better late than never. I couldn't recommend Arbor more. I went to Arbor to buy my husband a long board for Christmas. I had no idea what to get him or how to shop for him when it came to boards but the guys there were just awesome. They asked several questions about my husband to get to know him a bit before pointing me toward the right board. The owner really took him time helping me and talked me through what some people would find most important. Not only is the board we selected for him beautiful but he LOVES it!! He's a long board surfer and he said it feels like surfing on this board and it goes really fast. Three moths later and he still rides his board almost every day. Just had an incredible experience at this skateboard shop. After calling several shops around town and speaking with some rather rude store owners...Lauren and Norris at Arbor Venice were more than welcoming. I had a very tricky skateboard set up I needed assembled and although it took awhile to figure it out, they were patient, super kind, and did it for free!..just for buying bearings and some hardware from them. Bought a shirt marked as medium, fit like an extra small. Not too big a deal, but went back a few weeks later to return it and caught all sorts of attitude from the two people working. Walking into the store I asked politely if I could return it and was met with blank stares. The girl working behind the counter didn't say a word, lights on nobody home I guess. Finally the other person working spoke up and we got the evidently odd request of returning an item going. The person doing the return found it necessary to remind me I only had one more day and the item wouldn't have been refundable as if he was mad I made it in and was able to return it. Very unfriendly staff, both need to be reminded their customers are what keep them in business, most definitely won't be going back here. read more

When I saw the new DropCruiser Flagship I had to have it! The fact I waited 4 months for this board (during dreamy COVID-empty streets) says volumes about my loyalty to Arbor design, materials, product line, and corporate philosophy (and the fact this is my first "Yelp" says a lot too!) But the real bonus was the AMAZING customer service (and tolerance) I received when calling every shop several times a week! From Daniel, Chris, Teak, Lauren, and Corey at Venice; Tyler and Trevor in SanDiego; and Jorge and Dom in Tahoe, I've never encountered such consistently friendly, passionate, professional, knowledgeable, helpful patient staff! 4 months of calls and not a single bad moment - as a matter of fact, they seemed to "feel my pain" of being boardless. Loved going to this shop and 100% will be back! I've always shopped arbor snowboards online but I'm so glad I finally went to the actual shop and bought my snowboard there. The shop itself is so cool and it's nice to see all the arbor boards and skateboards on display. But it's the staff that really makes going to the shop worth it. Arbor Venice is a great shop, it's where I picked up my first ever snowboard in 2013. An Arbor Draft Nick Visconti edition which has seen a load of action in the 6 years I've had it. Even though I haven't bought a new board in years, I regularly come back here to get my board waxed and tuned. Dan is the man when it comes to this work, I always try to bring it to him for a wax job. Every time he's done with it, it becomes the fastest board I've ever ridden! Definitely stop in if you're in the market for a new board, gear, shoes, or just a general good vibe. Customer service was definitely top notch here. While we're looking at the snowboards here, the guy was super friendly and asked what kind of boards we ride, at the same time my friend didn't really know about the difference of camber and rocker board, he took his time explaining it to him. He also explained that this is their main headquarters where they create their design upstairs. I mean the store is pretty small, but I think they hit the right niche market. I like their stuff, but I didn't ride them cause I like bright colored boards, theirs are more subtle. At the moment when I visited, they were having end of season sale and I posted it on Yelp and FB, guess what? My friend ended up seeing that post, hurried to the store and bought himself a snowboard for 30% off. Glad I kinda "helped" him. Before we left, since my friend was contemplating so hard on getting the Arbor Coda since he was so keen in getting the Wasteland, the salesperson even offered him to take the board first and test it out. If my friend doesn't like it, he could return it. I'm like, what??? Is that an awesome service or what? We look very trustworthy customer, I guess. Why minus one star? Because parking is a b*tch, especially right by Venice Beach, but it didn't stop me from coming here again. read more

I parked in the back parking lot because I was unsure where to park and I saw they weren't open so I went to the Starbucks next door while I waited for them to open. I walked back to the car to drop off my drinks and go back to their shop and a guy told me I couldn't park where I was at and pointed two spots over and I said no problem I'll move! Then I moved and asked another worker "is this where I'm supposed to park" and he told me to "fuck off." The people here are sooo nice!!! I got a cruiser here that is super responsive and cute. I'm happy they have womens and mens boards. and they were nice enough to let me test boards in the back. I also have an arbor snowboard that is beautiful. The shortest board is like 146 i think and it was too long for me but it was so beautiful i got it anyways. too bad i'm a shortie. and i'm always happy to find yet another dog friendly business. the guy even offered to watch my husky-wolf hybrid while i shopped their apparel section in the back. great summer sale by the way. i always look forward to seeing what they have next season. read more

This place is awesome! In Venice/Santa Monica for a long weekend with a skateboard obsessed 8 year old. Arbor was heaven on earth for this kid! We visited many skate shops and this was the best by far. Incredibly patient and friendly staff that were great with kids. Very knowledgeable helping us learn about a good set up for our son's board. This was the only shop where they actually encouraged our kids to try their boards. All of the other shops seemed quite uneasy with that (I get it, they're brand new boards). We spent a lot of time in there and they showed no signs of tiring of our kids, which is saying something. Beautiful products. I really can't speak highly enough of this place. I think what speaks even louder is that a lot of the staff in various shops we visited were wearing Arbor shirts! When other shops are endorsing your brand, things must be really good! read more

When we arrived, we waited 10 months for the store to open. My boyfriend and I were about to leave when the owner walked up, super apologetic. He let us in through the side entrance and spent over an hour explaining snowboard boots and bindings to us. We had just purchased a board from CL and didn't have much of an understanding of snowboards. He was supportive, understanding, helpful, and completely professional even when his workers who didn't open the store on time came in. He offered to let us leave the board overnight so he can re-align our bindings for us. His service and professional attitude was a breath of fresh air from other stores we've experienced. read more

This place rocked my socks off today. (Okay...not literally). I was in the market for a board wide enough to skate on my knees, since I use a wheelchair to get around the rest of the time. Well, I called around a bunch of places--all the well-known LA skate spots you'd think would be helpful and knowledgeable. And you know what? They weren't either of those things, not particularly. But when I rang up Arbor and caught Cody, it was a totally different experience. He listened carefully to what I needed and went around the store manually measuring decks to see if he could find one with the needed width. He found one that we thought might work, and he invited me down to the store to try it out. I showed up later that afternoon, and was not disappointed. I got down on the board and it fit just fine. (For any other adaptive skaters out there, I went with the Arbor OSO, at 10.25" wide x 31" long). And Cody was super-helpful and nice and just a great guy. He talked about potentially even having one of the shapers make a test board just for people interested specifically in kneeboarding. I'm gonna keep in touch with Arbor and see what comes of it! Pro-Tip: If you're in a chair, there's a handicapped bay in the back parking lot, and a side/back entrance with a couple ramps into the store (the front has two steps). read more

I have two Arbor Long board skateboards and love them because of the unique wood grain in the boards. On my latest trip to Venice I had to stop by and see the store itself and of course pick up another long board. Abor is an amazing and environmentally responsible company. Although you can buy online, it helps to see the product in person and the staff is very chill. If you're in Venice it is worth stopping in and taking a look. A careful eye will notice Arbor skateboards around the boardwalk. If you're a visitor to Venice, imagine buying a local skateboard, take it for a spin on the boardwalk, and driving or flying (yes you can carry on a skateboard) home. I own two of their longboards, the Fish and Sizzler, and both are quality products. The Fish is a medium size all around board and good for beginners as it has a long stable base. The Sizzler is a little shorter and lends itself to turning at the expense of stability and forward momentum. I will highly consider Arbor when I'm in the market or a snowboard. read more
