I really enjoyed my visit to Arbor in Venice. There was a sale of shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies from the former San Diego store with such a nice selection of designs and sizes. The store is remarkable and serves the Board community well. The thing about Arbor over other sporting goods type stores is that the products designed and materials used follow strict sourcing requirements to reduce the impact to earth. I got my first Arbor shirt at REI over 20 years ago and have been an avid follower of their products. I ended up buying several sweatshirts and hoodies which were embroidered or printed in very cool fashion. All the items I purchased were 50 percent off and are of great quality. The cashier and main employee was really nice, as we had nice conversations about our dogs and how she got into boarding. With such nice savings, I'll be back for value priced summer clothing in the next few months. read more

They do a great hot wax for my snowboard. Dropped it off on the morning it was ready to drive up to mammoth later that afternoon.

I noticed this spot when it popped up back in the day (prob round 2013/15 or something.. but neways it was back in the day). During that time, I wasn't curious enough to walk through the doors; I just chalked it up as another brand-new nice-ass spot to ignore as I walked by after hittin' at the beach all day (doing street shows, the best one on da beach alongside Uba-Uba, Mr Animation, & Calipso Tumblers, of course [Big ups to Harry Perry & Hercule's]. Anyways, I walked in a few days ago bc it was one of the only things I recognized. After donating all my decks and snapping the only one I kept in half, I wasn't trying to buy another one - so I'm very grateful I was able to, and did. Skated everyday since three days ago, and I feel the most genuine to myself I have in a while for doing so (exponentially affecting productivity). Thank you Nick! read more

This business is a bad neighbor. They play music outside (which is against Los Angeles Codes) loudly enough that neighbors can hear it from inside their homes even with the windows closed. When asked to turn it down, sometimes they will, but they always turn it back up again later. Neighbors have been pushed to call the police to have them turn the music down. The police show up, they turn it down, and then it gets turned up again once the cops are gone. So, police resources are being wasted for the constant daily drone of their exterior speakers. It doesn't seem like upsetting neighbors, creating noise pollution, and misusing police resources fits into Arbor's stated mission in the world. I guess they are another company that's more talk than walk. LAME. read more

While the place has a decent selection, why does management have to blast rock music at 9 AM from their two high-mounted speakers? Why do they have to play music at all, at any time? It's really annoying to any pedestrian or tourist just out for a stroll. Even a passing car has to close their window if they are waiting for a light. Imagine if every store and restaurant and mounted outdoor speakers and blasted music all day. Whose idea was this? And does anyone really think this is good for business? read more

Arbor Collective a favorite stop right by the Venice pier, such a cool space to shop for skateboards, snowboards and clothing! Everyone that works there is super friendly and knowledgeable, the last couple of times Brittany was working and she was so welcoming and helpful. Bonus it's the only skate shop in the area that had the latest issue of Thrasher magazine! Arbor is Eco-consciousness without lacking function or style, lots of street parking. read more

Review is for clothing & COVID spreading only. I like their boards, but never checked their store till today. Pros: Homegrown. High-quality. Originals and some familiar classic brands. Con: While I was in the dressing room, the entire staff decided to take off their masks. What the hell? The employee behind the register stared at me blankly while I waited for the mask to return. I finally had to ask. Another employee scoffed at me over it. Aaaand that's my last time there. The good news is that Rip City sells Arbor boards (plus other brands to compare), and they keep their masks up when they're selling me things. read more

Called in for a size in for a snowboard but it wasn't in stock - I definitely enjoyed the helpful staff; they were able to take my info down to call in for the next shipment. Eager to look for an Arbor Ethos, I rolled down to Buena Park's Identity Board Shop & found it. Stoked to finish my set-up.. I visited Arbor Venice the following day to scope out boots & bindings. This shop is beautiful! My boyfriend & I loved their their natural wooden aesthetic and curation of clothing & gear all in one place. Good tunes & vibe in this spot too, ample parking for customers in the back. Grabbed the Sequoia Bindings which I love. Asked for my size in a pair of new ThirtyTwos but the particular boot I wanted in my size wasn't available. Guy behind the desk told me to try on another pair they had. I pass this place all the time but I never go in but I guess today was the day!! Once we went in we were greeted by a friendly face that guessed our puppies breed upon sight - most people think she's a pit/boxer or pit/Great Dane she's actually a Dogo Argentino. Anyway that's besides the point but that's a star earned! We were looking for a skateboard to have our pup pull us around town bc we found that it is the most effective way for her to get exercise and wear her not so little puppy self out! The man who was helping us was very attentive and listened to what we needed and was able to identify what kind of board would be suitable for us. Now on to the board itself - we ended up purchasing a longboard complete (which is the deck, wheels and the trucks). The board is actually really beautiful to look at...exquisite craftsmanship. The ride is so smooth. If you're looking to just cruise around town it's an ideal board. We spent about $200 which included the board and a tool which allows you to adjust and take off the bearings and so forth. So far we really love the board and and our puppy does too. There is 30 minute customer parking in the back of the store which you can access through the alley. The store itself is beautiful - the artwork on the boards, the shoes, the Pendleton blankets, the furniture...whoever is the buyer and does the interior design there has really good taste. read more

OMG DROOL DROOL DROOL!!! I saw so much stuff that I really loved! From kicks to sticks this place has some RAD stuff!!! I saw some skateboards, snowboards, watches, flannels, shoes and snowboard boots that I'd really love to have! Their bench in the shoe area made of a tree in a live edge manner is so cool... pretty much everything in this store is bad ass! And the people who work here are very nice! When you're starting a new sport, you want someone who is willing to take the time to walk you through the basics of gear and get you started off right. More than that, you want someone who will be patient with you. When you're 54 and getting on your first skateboard, you want them to be *really* patient. Thankfully, that's exactly what I found when I walked into Arbor and spoke with Norris. Like many people, I've driven past this shop a million times, but never went in. I could not be happier that I chose Arbor as the first and only skate shop I visited to get started. Norris was not only friendly, professional, and super helpful; he took the time to ask questions, learn about my interest and experience, and talk me through options that might work for me. I walked out with a beautiful longboard, and I couldn't be happier. In a world where we go to Amazon for cheap everything and expect it to be here the next day and perfect (good luck), supporting a local business who has your best interest in mind is the only way to go. (If we don't support local businesses, they'll go away.) Especially with something like skateboarding... you want to talk with someone who loves the sport and has been in the same place you are as a beginner. I had to replace my board and immediately fell in love with one when I walked in the door. Chris is really passionate and he actually custom built it. He took so much time with me walking through the types of boards and which one would work best for me. I ended up getting the custom built one I loved and he adjusted it for me. The staff at Arbor Venice were super welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable about the gear we picked up there today. We appreciated Norris' help in picking out a snowboard and ended up leaving with a Bryan Iguchi board that we're super excited to try out next season. There are some pretty sweet sales going on and we picked up some apparel and backpacks and are all set up. The environment at Arbor was great, the staff all chatted about their experience, and happily checked in about a board I bought there not too long ago. We felt super comfortable checking things out, they were all equipped with masks, and seemed to be handling the covid circumstances well. I have to give it up to Arbor for having one of the dopest shops in Venice. I went there over the weekend to look at the new 2021 snowboard lineup after seeing their post on Instagram (btw go follow them for sick content). I went in the store to be slightly disappointed they didn't have the Westmark Frank April edition in yet, HOWEVER, left the store happier than ever thanks to the great staff. Huge shout out to Norris and Josh, definitely going to be coming back cause of these guys. If you're looking for some wise snowboard wisdom, chat with Norris, it was a great time. I ended up leaving there with a really rad Westmark 2020 and even picked up a longboard Sizzler with a graphic from Zoe Keller, it looks amazing. David was incredibly helpful and supportive and made me feel so comfortable asking questions and trying out the different boards. It was hands down the best customer service I have experienced in years.
