My Burton board that I got 25+ years ago was unpacked from its bag and I decided to head to the Burton flagship location in Santa Monica. Parking was easy as I entered the store. I got there and 2 people from Burton staff greeted me. I asked about my board to see if I needed to do anything with it and they lead me to Joe! Joe is definitely the person to talk to about snowboards. His wealth of knowledge definitely shows and with the no pressure sales looked into my board and we tried on some new boots since my previous ones just completely fell apart . Eventually after trying various boots and learning about the technology that has changed since then, came up with a plan that I needed to work on including breaking in my boots. This store is laid out well and organised. I even managed to pick up a pair of socks while I was there so I could ensure I had the right socks as well (Not too thick and not too thin ) My time was cut short as I had to go but I will be back to have Joe bring life back into my snowboard. They are the best in breed when it comes to surfing stores and I can't say eight great things about them. Not only do they carry just about everything you could ever need for your surf experiences, but they donut was class and style. Their inventory is massive and if you can't find what you're looking for here, then you'll never find it anywhere else. You can always tell more about an establishment, doesn't even have to be a surfing shop but any place, hotel, restaurant, airline or where ever it may be by the people that work there. Could even be a Macys or Nordstroms, theatre's or wherever. What tell you the most about a place by the folk that work there. At his location every employee there had a great attitude and knowledge of all surf. Product knowledge that you hadn't even thought of or crossed your mind before. These guys and the teams there are all first rate and world class humans in top of that. I want to especially single out the manager I met today, Zackariah. You couldn't ask for a better guy to be minding the store and Jack's is darn lucky to have him. Zackariah is a high quality work class human and Jacks is darn lucky to have have him. I've never been so impressed by a fellow running a gorgeous store like this or anywhere else. No, I'm not his mother or father or have any relation to him. I'll just a 68 year old guy who was so impressed by Zackariah, what a great biblical name too, that I have to shout this out to all of you potential and probably many customers already established customers. I will never go anywhere else to get gear for my 35 year old son who loves and surfs down in Encinitas, or my 30 year old daughter who's local here to the Santa Monica Bay who does a little surfing too. I recently purchased a 2026 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport & contacted Rack Attack to purchase & install a BakFlip tonneau cover. I was initially assisted by "Steve" at the Santa Monica location. When I called back the next day to move forward with a ~$2K & change purchase, I learned he was suddenly on medical leave -- with no transition or handoff. From there, the experience unraveled quickly. I was transferred to another manager who came to "help them out" from the Orange County location, who was helpful & knowledgeable. He upsold me (successfully) to a higher-end tonneau cover compatible with future rack bars & added fog lights. I made a $1,000 payment based on his assurance that he would confirm product availability & timing for installation before my upcoming trip. He never called back. The following day, I had to chase down updates myself & reached another employee, "Don," who seemed completely unaware of my prior conversations & told me Aaron was no longer available -- contradicting what I had just been told. Again, no follow-up came. By Thursday -- now, 2 days before my trip -- I contacted yet another staff member who confirmed: The tonneau cover had arrived The additional products had not & they could not accommodate installation within the timeframe I had been originally promised At that point, it became clear this was not a one-off miscommunication but a systemic issue. Most concerning, one employee candidly admitted: "I've been here a month, & everything has been a complete mess." That statement alone explains a lot. This experience reflects not only a failure to deliver on a sale, but a lack of internal structure, communication, & support for both customers & employees. No customer spending this level of money should have to manage their own order across multiple disconnected staff members. Rack Attack -- if you are positioning yourselves as a premium outfitter & a key partner for brands like BakFlip / RealTruck, this level of disorganization directly undermines that claim. At this point, I am simply looking for accountability, clear communication, & a resolution that matches the expectations set at the time of purchase. I would welcome a direct response from management regarding how this situation will be resolved -- & how similar customers can expect to be treated moving forward. Should this be resolved appropriately, I would be open to updating this review to reflect that outcome.

Forced and contrived, like he was about to twist my arm. It's very uncomfortable. NO IS A COMPLETE SENTENCE. They do not understand what NO means. Terrible training on management. I've attached screen shots from Google reviews from other customers that have experienced this obnoxious pushy behavior from their employees. It seems to be an ongoing issue to harass their customers. I would recommend doing the drive to their Manhattan Beach location, as other customers have recommended to avoid the obnoxious abuse.

It's very padded, has pockets and zippers in all the right places for how I want to use a travel backpack. It's also pretty big for a backpack... If you're looking for a travel or camera backpack it's an awesome one. If you are looking for an everyday carry, you might want to size down to the 30L version. Peak makes well researched, very practical products that are well constructed (like their famous travel cubes). Check them out if you want to up your travel game or if you just want to make your pack and carry life easier!

This is a REAL review!!! We flew all the way to California from Key Largo, Fl and I wasn't leaving without a new board. I have plenty of boards, including 3 custom made from Longboard Larry and Subsonic. I know I could have gotten it for less on line but that would have taken away from the experience. Jeremy helped me out; he couldn't have been cooler, or more 'California'. Zero pressure to buy anything!!! I was a little surprised at the amount of boards they had available, but the website showed a lot out of stock. Thankfully they had a deck I wanted; we chose the components, debated wheel sizes, color, durometer, and Jeremy built the board. Parking IS free behind the shop with nice smooth blacktop to test out your new board (look for the alley to the left of Arbor). They share the lot with Starbucks, and have a security guy to keep everyone honest. Go visit Jeremy at the Venice Arbor shop to experience buying your next board from the source, on vacation. It's the experience, not how much you can save on line. read more

I haven't bought a new snowboard in 8 years, mine is just so heavy and I feel like it was way too big for me. I walked into Arbor and Chris was incredible. He helped size me into a brand new Arbor Swoon in my size with the perfect Arbor bindings to match. They had everything else I needed for the mountain from gloves, goggles and even amazing outerwear that fits super cute and kept me so warm on the mountain at mammoth! Couldn't be more happy with the service here at Arbor Venice and the music was great! What a welcoming atmosphere I will definitely be back this summer for a new skateboard for these beautiful Venice sunset night rides! read more

Went to the beach and needed some last minute things. Lemme tell you, this place had it all. Ended up getting a dope skateboard (the shakedown) to cruise the boardwalk l.",sunblock, Otis sunglasses and some really great Arbor T-shirts. My girlfriend loved the selection of bikinis and Vans. She wanted a board but really isn't coordinated. They let you try out the boards in store and she wrecked into the shoes! Arbor Venice is just amazing. I bought my first cruiser board there in November and I honestly cannot imagine having any other board now. It's well made, rides smoothly and looks great. Staff are also extremely friendly. I went there today again because I was in the area and was greeted by Noris. My experience at the store was yet again awesome, just like I remembered it from last time. Noris even offered to clean and grease my skateboard's bearings free of charge. I also had a look around the store and they have some great looking clothes, backpacks and snowboards. Bottom line: Arbor Venice is great! Would 100% recommend. read more

Funny story... I stopped in at the Arbor shop on Friday evening only to be greeted with "We close if 10 minutes!". No 'Hi' or 'Welcome in'. Just basically, 'please get lost so I can close'. I asked about a couple snowboards from across the room bc dude wouldn't even get off the chair to help. When he didn't seem to know what a powder board is and wasn't familiar with the Arbor model that I ride, I asked how long he'd been working there and he said 3 months. 3 months too long imo. If you haven't guessed, the funny part of the story is the customer service. It was a complete joke. read more

Bought the solstice and was really impressed by the quality and ride. After a few days one of the wheels acquired a big crack and a chunk looked like it was going to fall off without heavy riding. Went back to the store and Jason called his manager to see what they could do. The kind staff there replaced all four wheels with a smile. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Have been in there 3 times now and love the staff. Will definitely return for my next board and any other related items I'm looking for that they might carry. Rude. I bought a sweater from Jeff Oborn who told me I could return it if it doesn't fit. When I tried to return it, I was told that only store credit can be given. Then he proceeded to give me this small scrap of paper and told me that that was my store credit... and he said "it should work". When I asked if I could use it online, he said "probably". These answers worried me. When I asked to speak to the supervisor, he said he was the owner. Ummm, if you are the owner, you should know these things buddy. read more

I love this store the atmosphere is so welcoming as soon as you walk in! They have music playing outside and beautiful wood work everywhere! My favorite skate shop in Venice, such a good selection of longboard and downhill wheels. Snowboards aren't lacking either- great choices from park boards to back country boards. It's also Arbor's headquarters and the employees have a lot of information on what Arbor does for our planet. Really awesome shop and even cooler brand. read more

The two shops that shared attaching walls were undamaged. Like I said, strange. Anyways, please support this super dope shop, owned by a very rad woman. It's now on 26th Street and San Vicente in B Wood.

I ordered a few boards to figure out what felt right and they were very accommodating. Two items were from their "clearance" section (blemished only, nothing really wrong with them) and one came a little warped. They offered to let me bring it in to let them take a look and ended up just replacing it. The boards are known for being great training tools for surfing. As if that wasn't enough to get you to go with a Carver, the employees I met were super chill but absolutely on top of things. Carver's boards are fantastic and their customer service is top notch. GO GET YOURSELF A CARVER and support a business that deserves every penny of what these things cost. * I dont work for them - just a surfer with a desire to surf even when the weather isnt cooperating. Thank you, Vanessa (and the whole Carver team) for all your help and makin' me feel like my money was well spent.
