My boyfriend's board had a major scratch on the bottom and the edges were in fairly rough shape from his snowboarding habits. He had a snowboarding trip coming up on Friday so on the Sunday before his trip, he looked into different options to get his board serviced (including bringing it to either an REI or Backcountry.) However, he didn't want to make the drive and luckily found Stick Docs on Yelp. He reached out and they quickly picked up his board the following night, sending a text to let you know when they're near you to pick up (and to drop off.) When they arrived and took a look at his board, they were very honest and let him know that he probably didn't even need to get the most expensive package for the damages on his board. We really appreciated that they didn't try to upsell him! They brought his board back on Thursday and we couldn't even tell where the scratches used to be anymore. It was perfectly waxed, tuned, and ready to go! (Upon returning from his trip, he was so happy and said his board was extremely fast after the service. This team did a phenomenal job!) Stick Docs is hands down, the best. They offer pick up and delivery service in most parts of LA. REI and big box shops have nothing on them. If you service them once every winter season, it's definitely enough. I've gotten my skis tuned here alongside snowboards. My friend is an avid snowboarder but never got his base grinded. He was thankful and noticed the board response to be much improved. Sometimes I'll wax my skis myself but when it comes to other things I try to take it to Stick Docs. I don't usually give reviews, but Stick Doc is too good of a service to pass up. I've been going to Stick Doc's for several years now. I think when they first were starting out and I wouldn't take my boards anywhere else in LA. I have definitely built a trust with this business. It's my one stop shop for board repairs and maintenance. I know if there is something that needs PTEX or epoxy or some other issue, I'll get a consultation on the issue and how to remedy it. I just used Stick Docs for the first time and cannot recommend them enough! I usually get my board waxed and tuned on my first trip of the season but to save mountain time this year, I decided try Stick Docs before heading out. First of all, the pick up/drop off service is CLUTCH when you live in Santa Monica and they are located in the Burbank. That would have been a 2+ hour roundtrip TWICE! I ordered what services I wanted online, chose a pick up day/window and it was so simple. They came on time to pick up my board and were so friendliest, and brought it back the exact day/window later that we discussed! Payment online was so easy and I will absolutely use them again and tell all of my snow friends about them!! These guys are great. There isn't much choice for ski services in West LA other than REI so this place is a godsend. Setting up an appt for pick up is super easy, they give you a heads up when they are close by to pick up and drop off the goods, and the customer service is great throughout the whole process. I used stick docs to get my bindings mounted to my new skis. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as their pick up and drop off service but their reviews were all great and decided to give them a try. Really professional and excellent in communication. Came to my house to pick up my board in the evening and checked on it right away and told me I only need a minor tune up, not a major one. I asked to switch out my bindings and Sean called me to discuss about my specific requests on the set up of the bindings, gave my professional opinion and answered all my snowboarding related questions very patiently and in details. Initially I was scheduled to get my board back in 4 days, but they were able to accommodate me when I made a request to get it back sooner. This is my first Yelp review ever, but it's for good reason. I needed a pair of specific touring bindings mounted to a new set of powder skis, and their customer service couldn't have been better. What a find. My sweet sweet snowboard hadn't been properly waxed or tuned in a few seasons (other than a couple quick waxes at mountain lodges). It had some scratches and dings, was starting to feel slow on the mountain, and needed a spa day. Great place. I needed to get my 7 yr old's boots fitted to a Hand me down from his older brother. Sam at Stick docs did it right there in his Shop for me in 15 minutes. No need for me to come back later, price same if not cheaper as others where I have to wait a week to get the back. And on top of that he conditioned the skis. They set me up and came to my home to pick the board up a couple hours later. They gave me an hour window for pick up, but we're there no more than 15min after the start of the time frame. They waxed my board beautifully and professionally and had it dropped back off at my house the very next morning. This is an excellent service and I'm happy to have stumbled upon them searching for a place to get my snowboards tuned up. The best part of the service is the fact they come over and pick up the snowboards and drop it back off when the job is completed. I don't have to leave my house! They sent out a driver to pick up my board that very same evening and had my board back to me the next night. I had been calling other shops and none had a turn around time as quickly as these guys. After coming back from Mammoth the base of my board was shredded and the driver suggested I get the minor tune up for $50, after I received my snowboard it looked almost as new as the day I bought it. I've got to say that this is the best service I have received. I called these guys on Tuesday night and they didn't answer but did give me a call back. I told them I needed the skis to be ready for Thursday night since I'd be leaving on Friday at 2am, they let me know this wouldn't be a problem. Lance came to pick up my Skis on Wednesday and confirmed exactly what needed to be done when he saw the damage. They completed a major with base weld in about 24 hours and returned the item to my home on time. And the pricing was also extremely reasonable for the service I requested. Now the most important part is the major and baseweld... I've got to say it was the best tune I've ever had - I thought something was wrong with my skis but after some time I saw that it actually allowed me to do more with my skis, namely go much faster and carve much better. Needless to say I'm extremely satisfied with the service and will be going to Stick Docs for my tunes in the future. read more
