COVID LOCKDOWN UPDATE I've had the bike for a few years and now have over 1,500 miles on it. I still get 20-21 mile range using just the throttle @ 20mph, brakes are still there, and the Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires still look almost brand new. I've ridden over some pretty crazy shit in LA and I've yet to get a flat. Also, I've done 40+ miles using pedal-assist on medium the whole way and still had charge left when I got back home. Just recently the two plastic hooks that secure the controller to the frame cracked, but I gave Dave a call and offered to mail them to me free of charge. But, i'm in NOHO so I decided to make the 15min-no-traffic-CoronaVirus-drive. And when I arrived, Dave just handed me the replacement pieces no questions asked. I know the tech is out dated and there are faster, lighter, better looking E-Bikes out there now in 2020 - but I LOVE THIS THING! I have an electric bike made by E-Glide, which is the SS model. I need to replace the battery and the lock. I am trying to contact "Dave and Mike" to no avail. The owner Dave was all chummy, chummy when I rode one of his bikes for sale. But when I happened to be in the area and asked if he would like to check out the bike I bought instead, he was a dick. He told me that he's always doing research on ebikes, intimating that he knows all there is to know about them. I asked if he had ever heard of an Aventon. He had not. I bought a E Glide SS bike from Dave in January of 2017, and for the most part really like the bike. But, a couple months ago I noticed the back wheel (the wheel with the motor) was sprung and was wobbling terribly, completely out of nowhere and for no reason. I've emailed E Glide, directly from their website, at least 4 times asking for costs for a replacement wheel and I get 0... ZERO response. I have purchased several high-end electric skateboards from e-glide over the years. This weekend I had some difficulties replacing the battery pack in one of my boards. I took the battery pack which they had sold me the previous week (sent via FedEx very promptly) and the board up to their shop in Santa Monica, a one hour drive each way for me from Orange County. I brought in an electric skateboard that I bought on Craigslist and the first time I went by at 4:30 they were closed even though I was told they didn't close until 5. So I had to come back another day and the guy in charge of the place had a real attitude and was a major dick just because I was trying to modify the board with all terrain wheels because the small wheels it came with were too small for my need. He had a bad attitude and made some very rude comments like I didn't know anything. I know I don't thus why I wanted his help. So happy that I purchased my e-bike directly from E-Glide. I had browsed several e-bike models online and decided to buy directly from the shop in Santa Monica and not a 3rd party seller. It was an excellent choice. Dave greeted me as I walked up to the shop and I explained that I was interested in seeing the SS. He gave me a demonstration, told me about the bike, and let me test ride it around the block. They accepted card without a problem and hooked it up. I waited around about 20 min as his team put the bike together and test rode it for QC. They gave me a rundown of the charging system and basic maintenance of the bike. Overall, I am THRILLED with my new e-bike and with the EXCELLENT customer service that E-Glide provided. I recommended them to my coworkers that are also looking for e-bikes and I'll continue to recommend E-Glide to everyone else on the market for an e-bike. Most fun I have had on 2 wheels in 25 years I read a lot of reviews and information for weeks about power assist bikes for fun, not just commuting. I was so surprised when I walked in the door of Dave's shop E-Glide and he was working away at his desk. What a welcome you get and he is a great guy with a great product, No BS with him ,right to the point and knows his product. I have ridden the bike for 5 days now and I love this thing. I purchased the S/T 19 inch in black, Its a Blast on the river bike trail next to my house and it tears up hard pack dirt real well. The success of the Sonders bike caused people with no ideas of their own to look for a similar bike to sell. Dave "obtained" my bike, the one in the photo, to copy and sell it as his own. He and the guy who parted me from my bike should be ashamed. No good comes from such an acton, Bad Karma will get you in the end. Honest review, Dave, you at least sold my bike back to me after you copied it, you are slightly more honest than Sam from Myron's Extreme Machines, but still a guy who has no ideas of your own, and certainly does not believe in paying to use others ideas. I bought an E-Glide Skate from this company a decade ago when they're workshop was a garage in Santa Monica. The board I purchased still runs today, no prob. The owner is a straight shooter. If I had an issue I just picked up the phone and they always got things sorted. He's kept me rolling for 10 yrs, knows his stuff, he puts a ton of passion and pride into what he builds. I've seen and done some homework on a lot of electric skateboards. When I came across E-Glide I was driving home one day and saw this guy rolling one with all-terrain inflated tires. The things just glided over everything with grace, literally. Pun intended. I sped up and met the guy at the next block where he mentioned E-Glide in Santa Monica. Not a week went by and I was at the shop checking them out like a kid in candy store. Closed on Saturdays, bummer, you could call for appointment, though at the time on first visit, I didn't know this. Came back on a Tues/Weds, wasn't prepared for the stellar service. David & Mike have amazing customer service!!! You know these guys are passionate about their powerboards with full support no less. Thinking in those terms, these are the guys you want on your team when you embark on the investment, guys who support the product 110%. I thought about other boards, but they weren't all-terrain like E-Glide which goes on pavement, hills, grass, dirt and sand. And, other boards just aren't so local. The GT bump, crack and debris friendly while riding on the road, this thing rolls over everything smoothly. The Brakes!!! More than learning to ride the board, the brakes are insanely important. They work very well in precision. That said, you have to be precise in how fast you need to stop the board. It's a finger-trigger brake, takes practice. The board also has two speeds, 1/2 and Full power. Best to practice rolling and braking on 1/2 power. Not only that, walk the board with the control stick before riding to get the sensitivity thing down. Then, practice breaking. After all that, you're good! David let me take one out for a spin. I was hooked. Came back with cash a couple days later. Love my GT Powerboard-Black Anodized. It's FAST and rolls super smooth. It's a Tony Stark / Elon Musk kinda toy! : ) All-terrain, built to last! I'd have to say that Dave is the most genuine and kind store owner I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. My brother and I drove down there from Gresham, Oregon to pick up the E-Glide ST he purchased during the week of the 4th of July of 2017. The reason I am writing this separate review is because though I personally didn't buy anything, I did call him a couple weeks ago to see if he was willing/able to sell me reflectors that came equipped on my brother's bike. I know they're only reflectors, but the amber looks pretty sexy on a blacked out bike, and I couldn't find a pair that looked quite as vibrant or good as the set he was putting on his bikes. I was expecting to pay for the price of the item + the costs of shipping, as everyone would, right? No. He offered to send them to me at no cost. Zero. Not even shipping. He wouldn't hear of it! How awesome is that? Guys, if you want awesome e-bikes at awesome prices (seriously...I know he can charge A LOT more for his bikes when comparing other e-bikes on the market), pay Dave a visit. I've done a lot of research into ebikes over several months, and while doing that research I ran into a positive review of the E-Glide ST on electricbikereview.com. After doing more research and reading up on the bike at the E-Glide site, I concluded that if everything I was reading about the ST is true it is a very good bike and a hell of a bargain. I contacted the company and arranged a visit. After hearing more details about the bike from Dave and taking an extended test drive, I was sold. The ST is a terrific bike and a fantastic deal at its current price point. It has quality components, power, a lot of features and style. We did the deal, and since then we have been tearing it up around the streets of Irvine, CA on our ST. And BTW, Dave is a nice guy and was a pleasure to deal with. read more

These guys are amazing. The boards may seem pricy but you get what you pay for hear! My E-glide has lasted me longer than my past 2 cars. I bought mine about 10 years ago when I was in college, recently it started acting up so I brought it in to have it checked out. I dropped off the board and came back in about an hr to find it riding like new again! Can't ask for better service than that! And the tune up price was less than an oil change. I bought the E-Glide S/T in August 2017, and since then have run up more than 750 miles with no problems whatsoever. I did lots of research online prior to purchasing as I was worried that the lower price point compared to other quality well known brands could only return an inferior product with cheap components. I couldn't have been be more wrong! This bike is everything if not more than I ever expected. Very high quality with top quality components often found on bikes costing from $3,000-$5,000. Thank you Dave and Mike for your excellent pre sale and post sale service. Since purchasing this bike, six of my cycling buddies have bought the exact same bike from Dave in Santa Monica. All shipped 2 day Fedex. Setting up was about 20 minutes. We now have An E-Glide biking group riding anywhere from 35 to 55 miles on a single charge (my personal experience). We have miles of dedicated bike paths here in Northern California and those pesky hills which we all once dreaded are now of little consequence. We now find ourselves riding more miles and more frequently than ever before. Can't say enough about this product. Call Dave, he'll give you my name if you want more information.
