Good experience here. I needed two bikes boxed + packed for international air travel. Zone 3 was able to do it and the bikes made it safely. Only hiccup was that I was quoted a price of $60 and ended up being charged closer to $85 per bike. Reason was because our bikes aren't road bikes. I can understand the change, just wish it would've been called out when we dropped off the bikes or picked them up. Only saw a different price at the register when paying. read more

Very bad bike shop in LA with worst owner Raul. He Lies to new customers to get money from them as much as he can. He told me that he can do for free so i can come. I tried to stop by by this place just to get opinion about my e bike, when i came back with my one wheel back to place again from home, the Raul already fully started working on my bike and almost finished the issue without my permission! I was in shock, how can you touch smth that doesn't belong to you. So This place is really trap and dangerous!!! Please stay out and don't try even to visit. Being a bike newbie, this was my first time at the bike shop needing work. Fortunately, Zone 3 was awesome and Jose is a one-man shop who can do it all! Had called ahead asking about service and quote and got a quick answer. When I arrived, he quickly attended to me since I was the only person in the shop. I just had a flat tire so he thoroughly checked out the tire before just grabbing a new tube to replace. Without even prompting, not only did he pump the new tire but also pumped the first. Which I brought up a minor brake issue, he easily fixed it in seconds. Price was great as well - $11 for a new tube, $8 for labor. I was in and out in about 5 min! I needed tubular tires glued onto my wheels. Not a lot of places carry tubular tires. I went to a few places in Santa Monica and they either were out, didn't carry them, or the ones they had weren't ones I wanted to use. Zone 3 had continental sprinters. The owner said he rides tubulars so he carries them and he is very familiar with gluing them on. I would recommend this place. read more

I've been to Zone 3 Multisport a few times now and I've been impressed each time. They probably know that I don't know a ton about bikes but they've been honest with me each time I've come. They've told me I didn't need specific work done instead of taking my money and they've also caught things that needed to be adjusted to keep me safe. Their servicing pricing is also extremely competitive - I haven't found anywhere that is cheaper, but these guys are professionals and handle high end bikes all the time. So I researched online, looking for a place on the West side that might carry tri gear (or at least have someone knowledgable for advice). I drove to Zone 3 Multisport specifically because reviews spoke highly of the service. I was pretty much brushed off upon entry. I asked the sales guy (who I assume is Jose) if he carried tri suits. He said yes but because it was the off-season, he didn't have much (fair). Then, when I asked him if he carried wetsuits in my size (I am a 6'1" athletic female), he replied "You're tall and skinny, that's a problem." With every question I asked, he seemed more and more disinterested and uncaring to help the "tall and skinny" triathlete. Just coming from a pure sales perspective, he not only didn't try to sell me anything, he really just discouraged me from buying. Bottom line: my entire ten minutes spent in this store was uncomfortable, uninformative, unhelpful, and a complete waste of my time. I am sure the products in this store are great and maybe Jose is kind (but probably to just short and skinny athletes and cyclists). read more

I recently moved here from out of state and bought a used bicycle to avoid the traffic and high gas prices. Rode the bike one time and knew something was wrong so I researched bike repair shops and Zone 3 happened to be a block away from my job. I hesitated bringing my bike in because I didn't want to be told my bike was in terrible condition and I was also afraid of the repair prices. Finally, I brought my bike in on a day that Jose' wasn't there but the rest of the staff was very friendly and got all the details on my bike. They were able to give me an accurate quote and let me know when Jose' would be back to work on it. I received a call to let me know my bike was going to be looked at and then another call to update me on the status of my bike. The whole service took over a week but I was kept in the loop the whole time and the delay was due to a part needing to be ordered. When I went in to pick up my bike Jose' was very personable and gave me as much information as I needed to understand what was done to my bike. The price for the services was unbeatable, I really did get a deal and am super appreciative of that. Zone 3 is now officially my bike shop. I will be going back for any and all of my biking needs. read more

He took his time with my bike and I, going through all the angles and levels to make me as aerodynamic as possible. My bike felt incredible for the race. The wonderful thing about Jose and this shop is that he isn't pompous, as so many of these places can be. He didn't try to sell me any extra bells or whistles either, which was really refreshing. Despite their high fees, they did not fix my bike. I dropped off my bike because of a flat tire and because one of the wheels was hitting the break and slowing down. When I picked it up a week later, the tire was still flat (meaning there's no way they could have tested their other repairs). They changed it on the spot, charged me, and sent me on my way. 4 days later my wheel was sticking again. There's no way they tested their repairs if the tire was still flat. This store is really for experienced triathletes or serious cyclists. They carry exclusive gear and frames that cater to this market. With that said, I walked in looking to get the basic equipment for a triathlon and was comparing their offering to that of the Tri-Lab basic starter kit ($900). Jose took the time to walk me through the pricing options and necessary basics. He also explained the different levels of quality available for what I was looking to accomplish. I ended up purchasing all of my gear (bike, wetsuite, basic attire, etc) from Zone 3 for slightly more than the prepackage Tri-Lab starter kit. I felt more involved in the purchase, confident in the equipment, and feel great about working with Jose, who now provides regular tune ups and check in on my gear/bike. Great experience! I have been a customer for few years and noticed the prices were a bit high but it's a small local shop. Previously, I purchased a bike lock that went bad and the owner drove a mile to remove and replace the lock and I found that to be superior service. I returned hopefully near the end of COVID-19, and I was charged just over $22 to replace a bike intertube, but just last year we paid only $12. I would felt overcharged and would have to support Joseph A review, that the shop has some integrity/business ethic issues... I checked their flavors (if I'm going to buy a big jug, it'd better be something I like), but they were out of strawberry. Raul (I believe? didn't catch his name) was extremely helpful and went as far as to say the next shipment is coming in on Tuesday, and he'd be happy to order strawberry (score!). After that, we had a good chat about nutrition and he introduced me to some of the new products on the shelf.
