I made a purchase in-store, and the sales associate asked me 3 TIMES if I want to be a member. I said no all three times. "Are you sure?" YES I'm sure! "I just want to make my purchase." Even when he handed me the receipt he asked if I'm sure. It's very aggressive, predatory, and in poor taste. They use outdated abusive sales tactics. Forced and contrived, like he was about to twist my arm. It's very uncomfortable. NO IS A COMPLETE SENTENCE. They do not understand what NO means. Terrible training on management. I've attached screen shots from Google reviews from other customers that have experienced this obnoxious pushy behavior from their employees. It seems to be an ongoing issue to harass their customers. I would recommend doing the drive to their Manhattan Beach location, as other customers have recommended to avoid the obnoxious abuse.

Then when I got my rope, it was ringing up at a different price at the counter than what it was labeled on the shelf. They had the labels switched and wanted to charge me $10 extra for their mistake. When you do specialty retail, you should be able to answer basic product questions. When YOU make a mistake in labeling, you as the business should own up to it, and you take the hit and then go fix the label on the shelf so it doesn't help. The 3 star rating makes sense now.

He took a moment because he thought it was a little less online. When he asked "and that's the total with tax?". Normally you hear back a confirmation but instead she said no with tax it's $73.62. Mind you we were at the register to pay not for a price check. My husband was looking at his phone and she blurts out "you want it or not?". We told her yes but I had to explain to her he is just taking a moment to look up the price. Normally someone at the register gives the total price when purchasing not sub total. I walked away once my husband got the receipt and was already a good ways away from the register and she yells out "Good Bye!" In the most patronizing tone. It was the cherry on top for this review. We are all human and can do better but this right here is why online shopping and self check out is putting cashiers out of jobs. Maybe she should remember that the next time she wants to be unjustifiably rude and try to make people feel less than with "you want it or not?". Anyway a friend casually suggested I try Rider Shack to repair my board. The guy taking in my board couldn't have been nicer and then he uttered the famous surfboard shop repair claim, "It shouldn't take more than 2 weeks'. Sure I thought to myself. But guess what? Approximate 9 days later I got my board back (!) and it was so well repaired I tipped the guy a few dollars to give to the repair guy, Jose, since I was so impressed. The capper was this. When I brought the board in I had forgotten to take the fins that the guy took off before taking in board for repair. I had forgotten I had left them at shop and searched my car throughout and then thought I must have forgotten the fins at the shop. So I called and Jeff (the owner) quickly found them and gave them to me. He even gave me an extra fin screw just in case I had lost mine. These guys rule. You definitely just gained a repeat loyal customer! Thx again. So appreciated.
