In dealing with the assistant manager who argues with you, rolls his eyes, tells the customer that they are wrong (despite his inability to do a simple exchange and a return with two separate receipts) & then still get charged incorrectly. We left with discontent for a place that once was a childhood staple. As he spent 20 minutes trying to do so while slamming the scanner, refusing to listen or admit fault, & making a lady wait behind when he could have called someone else... I began to wonder how this place stays open. In going on a separate occasion I watched another teller ignore an elderly man making a purchase, & consistently give him attitude as he inquired about his purchases. Additionally there's no common customer service or hello or thank you & in turn you're ignored. I rarely say this but I would have interacted with a robot instead of a human.

My Burton board that I got 25+ years ago was unpacked from its bag and I decided to head to the Burton flagship location in Santa Monica. Parking was easy as I entered the store. I got there and 2 people from Burton staff greeted me. I asked about my board to see if I needed to do anything with it and they lead me to Joe! Joe is definitely the person to talk to about snowboards. His wealth of knowledge definitely shows and with the no pressure sales looked into my board and we tried on some new boots since my previous ones just completely fell apart . Eventually after trying various boots and learning about the technology that has changed since then, came up with a plan that I needed to work on including breaking in my boots. This store is laid out well and organised. I even managed to pick up a pair of socks while I was there so I could ensure I had the right socks as well (Not too thick and not too thin ) My time was cut short as I had to go but I will be back to have Joe bring life back into my snowboard. Be sure to make time enough for this process and make sure Joe is there to sort your gear out !!

Because of Max I can ski mountain open to close with no issue/pain! I recently came back on a Tuesday to buy skis before my weekend trip to Mammoth. Hailey was super helpful - again took the time to pull and explain ski options based on my ski level and preferred terrain. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size in store but pulled off a rush shipment to get the skis delivered, mounted, and ready for pickup in store by Thursday afternoon...insane turnaround, seriously such great customer service!

I had called about a week ago in search for a rpm q2 paddle and they told me that they sold out, I asked them could they let me know whenever they come back in stock. Jackson was the person that I spoke with on the phone, and he gave me his personal experience with different paddles and it set and stone made me want the one I got. A week goes by, they tell me that they finally got it in stock and I immediately picked up that same night. I told them I got off at 930, and it would take me about 20 min to get there. Most places would turn me away because they're closing, but this place waited for me and allowed me to make the purchase. Thankfully, Jackson put overgrip on my new paddle and I'm ready to play. The inside of the shop was beautifully built and so bright inside. So many different options, pickleball padle. They told me they offer lessons for their sports. This place will be my go to shop when it comes to pickleball needs. Once again, thank you Jackson and the owner for having excellent customer service

So I have had less than great experiences with board repair. Often I get something back that is…read moreworse than what I could have done and believe me I'm no craftsman. Anyway a friend casually suggested I try Rider Shack to repair my board. The guy taking in my board couldn't have been nicer and then he uttered the famous surfboard shop repair claim, "It shouldn't take more than 2 weeks'. Sure I thought to myself. But guess what? Approximate 9 days later I got my board back (!) and it was so well repaired I tipped the guy a few dollars to give to the repair guy, Jose, since I was so impressed. The capper was this. When I brought the board in I had forgotten to take the fins that the guy took off before taking in board for repair. I had forgotten I had left them at shop and searched my car throughout and then thought I must have forgotten the fins at the shop. So I called and Jeff (the owner) quickly found them and gave them to me. He even gave me an extra fin screw just in case I had lost mine. These guys rule. You definitely just gained a repeat loyal customer! Thx again. So appreciated.
