Headline Records in Hollywood is easily one of my favorite record shops to visit. The store has an incredible selection, especially if you are into punk, hardcore, and rare imports. I always appreciate how curated their inventory feels compared to larger chain stores. Whether you are looking for a specific pressing or just want to browse, the staff is knowledgeable and keeps the shop feeling authentic. It is a true staple of the music scene and a must-visit destination for any collector. I make it a point to stop by whenever I am in the area. read more

This is the best record store in LA. A great selection of cds, records, and band tees (as well as other merch). Prices are definitely affordable and Fair. The shop owner John is super fucking cool and helpful. I 100% recommend this place to anyone in LA. Ordering is just as easy, fast and cool too! Thanks again! read more

One of my go to spots for vinyl shopping. Great selection of punk, goth, post punk, psychobilly. Prices are reasonable considering their location right in the heart of Melrose. Street metered parking close by. If vinyls are not your thing (but they should be) , you can pick up some great band tees, books, leather jackets and chains. Now what sets this place apart from other stores is the exceptional quality of their merchandise and the owner is amazing. Top notch customer service! If you are in LA cruising Melrose, stop in and check them out. read more

A literal punk-rock oasis slab in the middle of Melrose. Growing up I never knew a record shop could have existed that was a fraction of how amazing this place is. Have been coming here for almost a decade and don't see myself stopping any time soon. Jean is a great guy that will help you find what you need and if he doesn't have it he will order it for you. As long as you are respectful everyone at this spot will go out of their way to help and even just shoot the breeze. They have records that I didnt know still existed or were printed but alas Headline has it. Prices are phenomenal aswell, especially for their badass store shirt (which I'm On my way to get right this moment. If you love punk, thrash, metal, etc come on in and fall inlove with your new favorite spot. read more

Dope spot if you are looking for hardcore and punk rock records. You don't see too many shops anymore specializing in this kind of selection but a unique find amongst the record stores on Melrose. Just know that if you are looking for anything other than punk records, then this isn't the shop for you. The coolest part was they have a section for local LA punk groups. read more

I am really glad a store like this still exists in 2020 with a staff that knows what they're talking about. Probably been here 20 times in the past couple of months (it's on my way home from work) and I leave with something every single time. John and Ken are rad and keeping a DIY attitude alive and well which is damn near impossible in the current world/economy and I applaud them and am just frickin stoked on Headline Records! SUPPORT LOCAL (be aware this is a PUNK boutique, not metal, not Nu metal etc etc...PUNK/hardcore) LONG LIVE HEADLINE! read more

PUNK RECORDS ONLY. I happened to stop by here looking for some used LPs. My bad for not reading the description but I didn't know they only carried punk vinyl. They had a few records I knew like The Clash but most were deep cuts from the punk scene. They carry a lot of apparel and posters too. The worker was real friendly and helped me find another store that might have what I was looking for. Also for the pandemic curious they were taking steps to reduce risk. read more

What an awesome store! The owner John will delight you with everything Punk. Great shirts, studs, pins, leather paint. Music!

This cozy, curated punk rock clothing, music, and memorabilia store takes me back to my childhood of the 70'a and 80's. Back then, these types of super cool stores were everywhere; sadly, they are now ultra-rare. This place is the absolute real deal - and be prepared for no AC. Amazing t-shirts from every known punk act, along with patches and music and other cool accessories. Small but mighty, check out this unique trip to the past. read more

Place rocks. Super helpful attendant and the prices are totally reasonable. Been coming here for years and never lets me down

They have a great selection, I could spend hours in here! They have an amazing selection of used Vinyl I can't find anywhere else!

My friends and I unfortunately ended up at some ridiculous record shop down the street prior to coming here. Upon coming here, the gentleman working was so sweet. I described bands that my boyfriend listens to and he helped me find a new vinyl for him. The vinyl chosen was from the band Cat Party (Found them on Spotify later and I'm in love). He then gave me stickers and I felt like an excited idiotic child. All around a good vibe here and I highly recommend it. Definitely a step up for the rude douche lord down the street from the Record Collector place. YOURE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE read more

The best!!! Incredible selection of punk and hardcore records and cds I've ever seen. Also tons of t-shirts, posters, etc. The owner is the best. He gets so excited helping relative novices, like me. Just tell him what you already like and he'll start pulling out recommendations. He never pressures a sale or makes you feel embarrassed for not knowing something. I should also mention that prices are cheaper than on the East Coast. I will NEVER miss this store on trips to LA. read more

I stopped in with my fiancé earlier this week and had an amazing experience. Originally went in to look at records. I found a Cramps shirt I've been looking for, for a very long time. (Yellow bad music for bad people with the additional artwork on the back). Got a few more things, patches and a ****crass 7" original pressing*****. Not only did I find stuff I've been wanting... I had an amazing customer service experience as well. The guy at the counter who was helping us was so awesome. He is so knowledgeable about music, it made my experience SO MUCH BETTER!!!! The majority of the time when I look for records the person helping me doesn't know anything about what I'm looking for. If I could give a million stars I would. I feel like anyone who leaves a bad review about this place probably isn't very punk rock haha read more
