OK, so Guy Hollerin's isn't exactly hip or edgy. It's the bar and restaurant attached to a Holiday Inn, so it's not going to appeal to 20-something hipsters. However, the few times I've gone there, the food has been decent to good, the drink specials are good, and there are free appetizers during happy hour. It's a good location for a Thursday or Friday night beer with co-workers, which is exactly why I went there. If you're looking for cheap beer and free appetizers, check them out on a weekday between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. The times I went there, they were offering $1.75 pints of domestic or Canadian beer and free chicken wings or pizza slices. If you want something more substantial from the menu, the "Macho Nachos" are good, as is the pasta dish they call "Guido's Veggie Primavera." Note: The closing hours listed are for the kitchen only. The bar generally closes one hour after the kitchen does.

I keep coming here because my son loves the pool in the hotel. However the bar and grille always disappoints. It's Ohio vs MI game day and there's two servers on staff. My parents had the lasagna which was featured but looked liked and tasted like leftovers. My sons Mac and Cheese was a brick. I'm not even going to talk to management because I have brought up issues before and they are an excuse surplus outlet. Great accommodations, way off onsite eats...

I would give it negative starts if I could! WAY UNDER STAFFED FOR A DAY THEY KNEW WOULD BE BUSY! It took an hour to get a beer another hour or more to get our food that was AWFUL we left it without even eating it. My mother went to say something to the manager Heidi was told that she didn't care. I went to say something about how that and how she was handling things and she said "blah blah blah I don't have time for this"

This meal right here gave me terrible food poisoning for 2 days!!

Food was fine. Understaffed. Restaurant was not busy but waited 30 min for drinks. And they 40 for food. I wouldn't return.

Terrible service. Watered down drinks. It took 1-1/2 hr to get a cocktail and a hamburger. French fries were cold when they finally arrived.

The restaurant/bar doesn't open until 4pm. Horrific for a hotel. Doesn't make any sense with a captive audience.

Rabbit Hole - Koel Bird

Ann Arbor is always such an interesting spot for a night out. During the school year, the streets…read moreare teeming with college kids bouncing around, which of course is what you would expect from a great college town. What I do love about Ann Arbor is that they balance out the drunk haunts of young adults with great restaurants and high end bars for the people looking for more than a pitcher of cheap beer. Rabbit Hole is one of those spots. Down the same little alley way as Circ Bar, this underground bar is tucked away, stone hallways and open up and lead to different openings that provide seating, a dance floor and an amazingly stocked bar. If you like bourbon you will love this spot. Our bartender was fantastic, absolutely worked with me on working out a drink. I know I took a pic of an espresso martini, but my drink was made perfect also. Another nice surprise was that it wasn't some crazy price on the drink (I mean any crazier than other places and quite cheaper than around my home), especially for Ann Arbor. Walking away from the bar is a dance floor, and surrounding it are booths in a separate rooms and tables on a level up from the dance floor. There are also two hallways that lead to more booths and tables in different areas of the bar. As you can imagine this is a huge place. We came on a Friday and it wasn't very busy, but school is out and the weather had just broke so not surprising. I really enjoyed my time and the company I was with, and I would definitely go back.

Definitely a bit confusing to figure out where to go. I wish I had been given some direction. There is seating against the wall throughout the winding halls. There is a dance floor and a couple bars. I loved the look which would definitely bring me back if I had also loved the Cocktails. The drink I ordered was way too sweet. I was underwhelmed. Most of their drinks looked on the sweeter side even the bartender mentioned. For my second I just ordered a glass of bubbly. It was also on the sweeter side but an improvement. For the prices, I really don't want to have to get up, find my way back to the bar to order my drink, then walk back to my seat avoiding the people and trying not to spill.

They don't serve any food though, so might not be a good choice if you're hungry. - Dogfish Head Grateful Dead IPA: 10000/10 (an amazing, refreshing IPA that isn't too strong! Medium-bodied, pretty fruit-forward with notes of pineapple and mango. Honestly one of the best IPAs I've had in a whileee) - Kasteel Wit: 9/10 (light-body wheat beer that's also super refreshing and flavorful!) - Hacker Pschor Oktoberfest: 10/10 (great marzen) - Rhineheist Cheetah lager: 8/10 (decent lager) - Guinness: 6/10 (the Guinness was wayyyyy too watery!!!) - Ferndale Project Apple Pie: 9/10 (actually tastes like apple pie and vanilla! It's def on the sweeter side though, so you might not like it if you're not into sweet beer) Overall, I definitely want to come back and sit outside when the weather is nicer!

However, I made a grave mistake of ordering on the QR code/Toast rather than at the bar. I say grave because fellow bourbon whisky enthusiasts will cringe -- I was pretty stoked to see that they had Basil Hayden Toasted. So, I ordered it but also selected "add water" with the anticipation that it would be like a dropper of water. Nope, they made a cocktail out of my 2oz pour of Basil Hayden. Whiskey water. At that point, it could've been Makers Mark or Jack and I wouldn't have known the difference. User error though so I did make sure I still tipped accordingly and NOW I know. I'll be back though.

We had a lovely time catching up in a comfy booth on a late afternoon (plenty of seating, you can seat yourself). The employees were friendly and helpful! I needed help picking a sweet cocktail and the waitress gave me some recommendations. I ended up choosing the Espresso Martini and it was delicious!! My SIL and I only ordered drinks but they kept checking on us to make sure we were good and didn't need to order anything else. It had a great atmosphere and was clean. I would come back! There's really no other word I can think of but condescending when describing our waitress. She not only had attitude every time she came to our table, but always seemed bothered to come check on us. I moved my chair around the table to have a better view of the game and she rudely confronted me saying I needed to move it out of the aisle- "I'm going to tell you right now, you or that chair cannot be there." Her attitude was a recurring theme throughout the evening. We ordered the Nachos and Pizza Bites appetizers, both of which came out in a timely manner and were warm. The Nachos were my favorite, there were enough toppings for all the chips which I know isn't always the case when you order nachos. The Pizza Bites were okay, they didn't have a lot of flavor, even with the ranch and marinara sauce provided. I want to give them another chance but will definitely not be recommending this place to others. I'm disappointed because they are conveniently located off Packard, right off the main drag into downtown Ann Arbor, and far enough away to avoid gameday traffic. Surprisingly, the crowd was pretty sparse for a Lions Sunday, maybe because it was an 8:20 game. The building itself was clean, but I did notice the bathroom had a pile of stuff on the ground (cleaning supplies? extra toilet paper maybe?) and there were no speakers piped into the restroom like most bars, so there was no way to follow the game during a quick bathroom break. Lastly, I have to mention their jersey giveaways. Right before the game finished, the bartender announced that number x had won the jersey giveaway. Me and my party were shocked because we had not been notified of a giveaway at all and because there were so few people, we probably had a good chance to win. I wouldn't put it past our waitress that she didn't care to tell us, given her already rude demeanor, but that is extremely upsetting that she couldn't even have informed customers of what we later found out to be a weekly special on gamedays. Turns out, you have to buy a certain beer to be entered into the raffle. That being said, if you go on gameday, don't expect them to notify you or advertise the specials...take the initiative and ask yourself. Or, in all honesty, take your business somewhere else that has better food and will gladly let you participate in their specials.
