Thank you Chris and crew for your EXCELLENT work removing 4 very large trees & roots this past week!!! My wife and I recently moved to Oceanside and realized that we would need to remove some trees. The trees were big and beautiful, but they were too close to the house and had enormous roots already causing damage to brick work and a sidewalk. At our old house we spent more than $7000 on repairing pipes damaged by root intrusion from trees. We were not about to wait at this house for a big plumbing bill; sorry big beautiful trees, it's time for you to go. Three of the trees were 40 foot tall Liquid Ambers, two of these were very close to the house with big limbs overhanging the roof. The fourth tree, a two story tall mature ficus tree, was very close to a two story wall full of large windows. Yes, we contacted several services and compared before selecting Arbor Age. We selected Arbor Age based on Christopher's professionalism and knowledge and were not disappointed. All the trees were removed by Arbor Age without so much as a scratch to the house, roof tiles, or windows (or a outdoor big air conditioning unit next to the ficus). Also, the roots that were criss-crossing the yard (one large area of the roots looked like an alligator sunning itself on our front lawn!) are completely gone. We made arrangements with Arbor Age to have a treasured tree trimmed after doing research on different companies. We were impressed with Chris when we spoke to him regarding the job. The tree we have is a huge Brazilian Pepper which we planted 45 years ago in our front yard. We planted it, trimmed it and nurtured it as a young tree so it could serve as a "climbing tree" for our son. It served that purpose during his childhood as he and the neighborhood children were always in its branches. After many years, the tree had much overgrowth with branches and sprigs going on all directions. The leaves look sick as well. Chris told us that there was a fungus down in the soil that was affecting the health of the tree. Although he could do nothing about that, Chris felt trimming would really help the tree to survive another 10 to 15 years. The trimming crew was very professional and very nice. The tree shape looks very good now, and we are anxious for it to fully leaf out again and see how the trimming will help the remaining limbs to recover. The supervisor for the job was quite knowledgeable and advised us how to feed and deep water the tree around the drip line. The cleanup was superb. We would highly recommend this company. read more

Purchased a new home w/ existing 2 story+ high palm trees that were dropping berries all over the place, plus several other dead trees on property. Christopher came out to provide free estimate to trim the palms & remove the dead items. He presented documents proving the company had workman's compensation, his certifications as arborist and advised me never ever to allow anyone to climb my palm tress w/ spikes as the tree will not heal. Day of work Carlos & Carlos came out to do the work, showed promptly. Climbed up the palm trees using ropes (amazing to watch), trimmed the trees w/ hand held saw & chain saw, showed me what the berry pods look like, dropped the dead wood & ground the stumps, grounded up the massive pile of 'trash' and cleaned the yard and my neighbors side yards before they left. Very happy with the work the guys did. The "all day" job took just 3 hrs 45 minutes. Will be having them out again to tend to other trees & trim off those berry pods! read more

We received a letter from our home owners association that we needed to remove the tree in our front yard. It was dying due to the drought. We are only allotted certain days to water. When we did water, the tree roots were taking away the water from the grass making the lawn look worse. After doing some research online, we came across Arbor Age. Christopher from Arbor Age came out right away and reviewed the tree in the front. Then we asked him to check the roots of trees in the back yard which were going into the foundation. He inspected every tree and advised us which ones where dead. He broke down the prices for cutting each tree down, removing the stump, and the roots on each tree. So, if we wanted to take down certain trees now or later. Then he asked us when do we want this done and we said ASAP; which he did. I have a large Tipuana tree that has been severely trimmed about three times and had gone completely out of control since the last so-called trimming by professed experts. After I called Arbor Age for an opinion, Chris came out, examined the tree gave me a full explanation of what was wrong and then gave me a reasonable estimate. I was truly impressed by his knowledge and caring for my situation. His team arrived two weeks later. This team obviously was a group of true experts. We needed a large and dangerously leaning pine removed from our church property and our Queen palms trimmed up. Christopher ultimately made three trips to estimate and then fine tune his estimates to meet some changes to our needs and tight budget. He advised us that no matter who does our queen palms to make sure they did not use spikes to climb them as that would cause permanent damage to the trunks. He gave us fully complete documentation of his licensing and insurance. His crew was on time, friendly and respectful, and did a great job. I asked the guys if they could leave some of the larger pine limbs for firewood and they cut a nice little pile to size for us. They left the work area clean. We had a great experience with Arbor Age Tree Service. We've had various yard services trim our trees over the years, but no one has taken the time and care to shape and thin them so beautifully until Chris and his team. They obviously really know tree care and in addition have the equipment and safety training to get up into the tops of our big trees and trim properly. They spent 1/2 a day on 2 tall palms and 3 mid-sized ornamental plum trees that all look fantastic now. They also cleaned up perfectly, so that our yard looks great. Excellent experience with the Arbor Age Team beginning with the prompt and very competitive bid through the last hours of the job when the crew could have coasted as they finished all requested tasks early. When I decided to have my 6 palms removed I contacted several services. Chris got back to me real fast. The other guys weren't so prompt. When he came out he gave me a written quote that was competitive. The other guys used words like "probably", and "around". His crew, Carlos, Roman and Ali did a great job and even dug up and replanted some plants that might of been damaged otherwise. I was impressed. These guys are the best. Chris uses professional tree people and they use all the safety stuff and they do everything the correct way. I talkes to the workers and they were obviously very smart and local folks who live here. I have seen my neighbors hire people because they are really cheap and they got a couple guys and some rope who did not even speak English. Don't do that - you will be sorry. Chris and the guys at Arbor age were excellent. This is the second time I have used them and was not disappointed. I had them trim our queen palms and completely remove the tree in our front yard with a stump grind. Other then the missing grass, it looked like there had never been a tree there. Very professional. They took down a large pine tree that had died from pine borer beetle infestation. Not only did they take it down, but they hauled away EVERYTHING and cleaned up after themselves. Even cut another small stump that my wife wanted removed without any extra charge. Chris and his crew know what they are doing. Be careful about hiring so-called tree services who do not use safety equipment and have no insurance. You will be sorry if you do. It's not worth the risk. read more

I have had Chris work on trees for me at several properties over the past 10 years. In every case, he was reliable, friendly, prompt and professional. In one case, he referred me to another arborist due to schedule conflicts. Arbor Age tree service cut a large tree that was too close to our home and they did the job not only on the day promised (we were on a tight time frame as we were leaving to go north for the season) but they did the job in less then a couple of hours. They chipped everything and gave us the chips as promised. They cleaned up and left the yard and house in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend them.
