I needed to find a new doctor when my previous doctor of 20+ years stopped taking the insurance I had at that time. My first appointment with him, all those years ago, was more of an interview experience - where did you go to school, medical bonafides sort of thing. It was an opportunity to try and gage his manner, medical expertise, and determine if we would be able to work well together. He was then, as he is now, open, direct, well educated, extremely knowledgeable, very personable, and professional. The one and only drawback is he doesn't do hospital visits. He was very upfront about this right at that first visit. And I appreciated knowing this from the get go so I could make an informed decision. He's very tuned into the medical community and has always provided me with excellent referrals when needed. We've gotten along great all these years. Appointments are easy to make on a timely basis. All the staff working there are truly fabulous. I especially appreciate nurse Fred and always hope to see him when I'm there. He's so knowledgeable and kind. My rule of thumb in seeking medical professionals - medical education counts, they have to be smart, they have to be direct, they have to have excellent critical thinking skills, and I have to trust them. Check on all counts. It's just a bonus that we also get along very well.

But after having been a patient for a while, I was given a payment arrangement that has worked for me. He is also quick to return urgent calls. Dr. Madill cares about his patients; he is patient and understanding. He has been in this field for a very long time, and has extensive acupuncture/acupressure training from time spent in China. He always tries to reduce traditional painkiller use in favor of natural pain management, diet therapy, and physical therapy. He also offers trigger point injections. Originally given a discouraging diagnosis of fibromyalgia by a series of family practitioners and denied necessary treatments, Dr. Madill was the only one to properly diagnose and treat me. He is also much, much easier to reach than most clinical practitioners. It's worth the out-of-pocket expense, even if that is all you can afford to do for your condition.

Oh my, where to start? My first appointment with this office was fine. Thereafter, every…read moreappointment had odd quirks. So much so that I stopped going. Å good friend of mine, also a patient of this office, had emergency triple bypass surgery. She had been a patient of this office for at least 10 years and they did not diagnosis it? Why not? That's a big health issue to overlook. One appt was with Ms. McFadden, who lied to me about the side effects of a certain medication. When I asked her the side effects, she said one word "NONE". I went to the website for the medication and there was a long list of side effects. When I questioned her via email she said she was doing the risk assessment evaluation. No, she wasn't, she quoted old lab results, not the newer, better lab results. Totally inept. Beware.

If you want a recommendation to say, physical therapy, it will take them 3 to 4 and sometimes five days to get it out. And they will probably insist that you come in to see them first which will mean you won't get your illness treated for a month. My advice, use Providence in Santa Rosa where there is more support for the doctors and more staff to support them. Like I said the doctors are good and caring people it's just at the organization and the place is the victim of what is happening to small doctors offices all around the country, poor service.
