The handyman completed all of these in about an hour. This is both a good and a bad thing-- good because he is very efficient, but their service charge has a two hour minimum requirement. They did disassembly of window treatments, patching, painting, light switch replacement, battery replacement in smoke detectors, and fixing a gate. Johnny was excellent. My AC suddenly stopped working -- my Nest thermostat kept showing "no power…read moreto the Rc wire." A previous tech had just flipped the breaker a few times and called it a day, but the problem came right back. Johnny actually did a full diagnosis instead of guessing. He traced it to the real root cause: the circuit breaker in my panel wasn't compatible with my 240V panel, so it was never making proper contact. He swapped in the correct breaker and the AC has been running perfectly ever since. Very thorough, explained everything clearly, and the price was very fair. Super reliable -- I highly recommend him to anyone dealing with electrical or AC issues.

Was having trouble finding a contractor for what might have been a big bathroom job or small…read morebathroom job (most only wanted the big job). After a bunch of wasted time with other contractors I finally met Johnny and I happy with his proposal and ultimately his quality of work. We have in wall toilet tanks and both were leaking and to make things worse the specific product was discontinued. This was in the house before we moved in so I didn't know all the specifics. Therefore, we opened up one of the walls to determine if we needed to replace the whole tank or just the components inside. He figured out was unnecessary to replace the tanks and he was able to find compatable parts! As well we took the opportunity to add electrical outlets and another water source for bidet toilet seats. He did very clean work, took great care to minimize damage during the removal process (which is harder than if we were just demoing the entire bathroom tile). Bottom line it is very difficult to tell there was partial replacement and tie into existing remaining wall. I was particularly concerned with the partial tile replacement and grout work not matching up, but came out clean. We also had him water proof and finish off the stone around the tub and tile the wall behind the tub. He helped my wife and I make some decisions on tile because we were a little unsure. He was able to work with our schedule coming in a few different days that worked with his current schedule and ours because we work full time and with kids it is too difficult to just take any day off. I was happy with the work he did in the bathrooms so I had him also fix my sink which was an all-in-one custom counter-top into sink made of Corian. The sink had developed a crack and would leak under pressure. It wasn't as simple as just removing a metal sink and swapping out. He had to carefully cut the corean and this time we dropped in a metal sink that was very close to the existing size of our sink, but it required some slight modifications to the opening, along with adjusting the plumbing as the drop used to be centered and now was offset to side. As well the old faucet and soap dispenser were knotched into the corean, but becuase the metal perimeter didn't fully cover the hole he was able to borrow and cut to size the Corian from the section he removed doing his best to color match so it blended in. While it is not perfect options were pretty limited. He could have done epoxy and suggested that might be the way to go, but I advised that I just wanted him to cut out the Corian and blend it in the best he could. In summary, I was happy to have found Johnny and will definitely use his services again when the time comes.

Extremely unprofessional and abusive experience…read more I created a project through Yelp, and Yelp automatically sent my request to various businesses. I was contacted by someone named Elmar. The call came from a number showing on my caller ID as 408-396-8070. Instead of simply discussing the project, he immediately became hostile and started swearing at me, including saying "F*** this" and "F*** you," before abruptly hanging up. I was completely caught off guard. I had simply submitted a project request through Yelp and had not done anything to warrant this kind of treatment. This was an absolutely unacceptable and highly unprofessional way to treat a potential customer. I will also be filing a complaint with Yelp regarding this interaction so they are aware of how a business responding to Yelp project requests is treating potential customers. **UPDATE: I am providing screenshots to document what actually happened.** In his response to my review, Elmar claims that my account of him calling me and using profanity is "completely false" and that "nothing like this ever happened." That is not true. I am uploading two screenshots that document the sequence of events: 1. **At 3:10 PM**, Elmar responded to my Yelp Project request stating, **"I don't provide that service."** 2. **At 3:12 PM**, just two minutes later, my call history shows that I received a call from **408-396-8070**, which is the business phone number listed on this Yelp business profile. During that 3:12 PM call, Elmar was extremely hostile and directed profanity and abusive language toward me, including **"F*** this" and "F*** you,"** before hanging up. The timing is particularly significant. If Elmar had already responded to my Yelp request at 3:10 PM stating that he did not provide the service, there would have been no apparent reason for him to call me two minutes later unless he wanted to discuss something further. That call did in fact occur, as my call history confirms. Elmar now claims that the call and abusive behavior never happened. The screenshots provide contemporaneous documentation of the Yelp response immediately before the call and the subsequent call from the business number. I am providing this documentation because Elmar chose to publicly accuse me of making false accusations and acting in bad faith. I believe potential customers should have the opportunity to see the documented timeline and make their own judgment. I have also reported this matter to Yelp and will provide Yelp with the same documentation.

AMAZING PEOPLE - STELLAR WORK - VERY RESPONSIVE!…read more We used Alex to make our recently purchased home in San Mateo "move-in ready" by repairing all picture holes, nail holes, and scuffs throughout; repainting and refinishing walls to ensure a seamless, uniform finish; adjusting door alignment; and removing any child locks and interior security devices left behind by the original owner. Alex did such an amazing job that even my mom was amazed at how good the walls looked. Shortly after that, we had Alex come back to install outdoor security cameras, which required wiring, mounting, and installation of weatherproof boxes; he also fixed our overhead kitchen light which is a non-standard fixture. Alex is knowledgeable at just about everything in and out of a home - he talked to me about exterior siding and which lumber yard would source my particular home's wood panels, as well as sprinkler systems. Overall, we only have amazing things to say about Alex and the quality of the work he has done for us. Scheduling him to come by to estimate projects and subsequently do the work has been incredibly easy because of how responsive Alex and his wife Lisbeth (who manages the schedule) are with project scope and availability. Not only that, but the pricing is transparent, fair, and explained. We anticipate using them well into the future for many more projects around our home, and we would highly recommend their services!
