    Hair on the cake

Me & my family have been ordering from here for years & have never had a problem. Picked up a cake yesterday & went to cut it today just to find a hair on the cake. I called the bakery & the guy over the phone refused to take accountability for it & said he could not imagine how this could happen. He said he couldn't do anything because they have a "24 hr policy". We picked up the cake 1/18/26 @4pm & went to cut it 1/19 7pm. The guy over the phone only offered to give us back $10 when we payed $50 for the cake. I informed him I would be bringing the cake back & when I asked for his name he refused to give his name. Very poor customer service. I will never be coming back to this place.

The place is incredibly clean, which is always a plus! The variety isn't as extensive as the panaderia I typically go to, but they still offer the essentials like conchas, muffins, cookies and empanadas... there's also a coffee bar which pairs perfectly with one of the baked goodies.

I ordered this cake over the phone for a birthday. It was a bit difficult since I don't speak Spanish, but they were patient and accommodating and we were able to get the order in and ready for that same day. I'm knocking a star off because the call dropped 4-5 times and every time I called back we would get confused on what I was wanting and then they'd put me on hold for a long time. But!! My order was ready after less than 2 hours of placing it. I had to make a deposit of $10 over the phone and then paid $22 when I picked it up. $32 for this beautiful 8in cake is an amazing price!! Also the cake tasted DELICIOUS and everyone who tried it agreed. When I picked it up, I found the bakery to be very open and inviting. They had pastries all around the walls. I'll be coming back to try something new!

The Troggs and later Wet Wet Wet said that Love Is All Arandas, and when you try some of the items from this bakery, you'll agree. This is a chain bakery, from the same folks that bring you Taqueria Arandas (one of the best late night options in Houston, many locations). And so far, every location I've visited makes really good top-notch Mexican pastries and all kinds of goodies. We like it a lot and we've been to many of them, and this one is pretty close to Chinatown and not too far from where we live, so we come here on a fairly regular basis. I think they make everything very well. It's not in the best area in terms of crime and crazy driving, but neither was your mother last night. Now apparently this review was illegal, and now we're surrounded. There are cops all Arandas. Let's eat.

Bolillos are 60cents each and pastries i got in pic were $1.25 each. The pastry with almonds was surprisingly filled with cream cheese and a grape- tasting filling and was delicious just like the bolillo. The humidity did not affect the bolillos as they were hard on outside and soft and squishy inside. The line was long at first and then another checker opened up. Place is well lit and big, with pastries in cases. Grab a tray and tongs on way in. The names of the pastries was pretty much unreadable, but i am sure everything is tasty.

I swear I had an review at Arandas Bakery from years ago. Anyways... It's a major improvement since last time I was here. Everything is still wide open, even before Covid-19 pandemic. Yelp prompted me to ask is it "open for dine in". I guess they saw Maria S wrote. With so many people crowding the store during the holidays, there was no place to walk in the store. So the answer is no. The improvement was the staff became more attentive and friendlier toward me, a non-Latino person (they don't know I'm a Hispanic). The products were fresher than I originally wrote. It is like I found a new breakfast spot that opens all day. Tamales are tasty. They came in a pack of 3. I can mix half chicken and half pork. Chicken is supposed to be spicier. They both use red sauce, pork tamales got darker center. Otherwise, I couldn't tell them from the husks. Empanadas were so soft, I think it was supposed to be crunchy but that was last batch of the day. Because she said only chicken left. It's baked. And, I need a plate and fork to indulge. I just wish they label each bread with name, price and allergens ingredients. I really want to try those new breads in the display cases. With self serve coffee and chocolate machines, I would need to find a park nearby to enjoy.

Amazing.. my favorite were the chocolate dipped macaroons

I have to say that I have no idea why there were so many people that rated Arandas Bakery so low. This place has just about everything that somebody craving pan dulce would need! They have cute little emoji cookies and all sorts of cool conchas! Even unicorn conchas! I didn't see one thing that this place lacked.. They were very covid safe and had somebody with a mask and gloves pick the pastries for you so there wasn't many people going near the open items. Would definitely return! Ignore these other ratings! Lol

Aranda's bakery makes me like sweets! Imagine waking up on Sunday morning, starting your fresh coffee, drive down the street and enter a bakery wonderland filled with all kinds of sweets for ANY person including people who don't like sweets that much. As you enter to your right you will find a big sheet pan with tongs. Make your way down the many displays of sweets and some savory items such as fresh kolaches and bread. All items don't exceed $1.50 It's like a dollar store for goodies! You go for one treat and you end up buying 25 treats with a bill of less than 15$. Everyone is nice and friendly, cards accepted. Don't feel intimidated, just go. Again soooo many treats! From cookies to churros dipped in Nutella from conchas to blueberry danishes. Omg.

I never met an Arandas bakery I didn't like and this establishment is no different! Do not come hungry or you will leave with a whole entire bakery, lol. The best thing, for me, about this bakery is that it is immaculately clean and shining! They make sure it is spotless! Now, this is a bakery that specializes in delicious pan dulce but they also have cookies, cakes, doughnuts and delicious bolillos baked fresh multiple times throughout the day . You can purchase flan, chocoflan, tres leche, fruit tarts or strawberry tarts. They also have birthday cakes. I love the fresh and hot bolillos. I eat them plain or toasted with strawberry jelly. So good! My absolute favorite item is their vanilla conchas. Slightly sweet and topped with lightly crunchy fine sugar. They are perfect to eat with coffee, milk, or a hot chocolate! Speaking of hot chocolate and coffee, they serve thst fresh too. As well as tamales, water, milk, juice and sodas. I shall return!

Insanely huge variety, just the right amount of sweet. I am in love and in awe of their dry buns and pasteurisé. My favorite is cheese filled variety. The proportion of butter, cheese and sugar is heavenly. Staff is super sweet to even non Spanish speaking first timers like myself.

Officially obsessed with this place! I don't know whatbthe breads are called but I just grab whatever looks good and it always turn out to be good! I got addicted to a brown muffin looking corn bread and that pastry bread above it with the cream filling in the middle. Ughhh bro. MY QAURANTINE WEIGHT IS LITERALLY FROM THIS. It's really good

I always come to this bakery and buy the same thing. Chocolate conchas. And I buy around 30-50 of them. My kids love them. I use to walk in and get the platters from inside the display. And they told me I couldn't do that, that if I wanted a large amount to let them know and they'll get them ready for me from the back. This was a while back so now I call ahead and asked them that I want X amount of conchas and by the time I get there they have them ready for me. Some times I'll pay by the phone some times I pay when I get there. So today I call ahead 30 mins and I asked the lady I want a box of conchas only chocolate flavor. She places me on hold comes back and tells me she can not set them aside fir me. So I'm like since when, she tells me that if I want to place an order I have to pay over the phone. So I'm like OK that's fine. By now I'm 5 mins out. So I tell her hey I'm here already and she hangs up on me. So I'm inline inside the bakery and I call again. I explain what I wanted and again she says that it can not be done. I tell her that if I get all the conchas from the display there won't be anymore for other customers, that that's why they get them from the back for me. Well eventually she gets my order I wait inline to pay. She is completely upset because apparently I got away with it. N E Ways I'm not saying the customer is always right. I'm saying don't be rude if things don't work out the way you want to. And if your having a bad day don't take it out on the customer.

Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. Inside you have the more fancy tables, whereas outside, they're more weather resistant and not as upscale in appearance. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service. The only niggling items, parking can be tough, so you'll have to either walk a block or be quick to find a place close by. This store is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall so there is plenty of space for parking. The inside has a good number of seats and tables for customers to sit down and enjoy. There is also an area that has children's books- in both Japanese and English! I was thrilled to see some of the books that I grew up with. The glass display showcases a variety of different pastries and sweets. There is also a separate menu above for sandwiches, crepes, and quiches! I was indecisive so I asked the owner for recommendations and she chose the Mont Blanc and Total Raspberry Tart. Both pastries were perfect- the tart has a raspberry cream on the bottom and the fruit was fresh and naturally sweet. Not to mention, the crust was absolutely delicious. The Mont Blanc was just as tasty. The chestnut puree, Chantilly cream, and crust were all *chef's kiss* And the best part of it all is that the pastries were not too sweet (for those of you who are new to Asian pastries, they are meant to be lighter and not overly sweet)! While my friend and I were enjoying the pastries, I was able to have a brief conversation with the owner and she was incredibly welcoming and kind. Overall, I was thrilled to be able to finally try Chez Kobayashi Pastries and I can't wait to come back and try their savory dishes! ごちそうさまでした‍
