We have been here multiple times for happy hour, great food specials. Oh, and if you like Reuben's,…read moreI highly suggest. The meat was soooo tender. This morning (Sunday) we stopped in at 10:00am for brunch. We will definitely be doing that again. I had the avocado toast and my husband got the chicken fried steak breakfast. Both were great! Not only was his chicken fried steak huge, but the breading was crazy good/crispy and the meat was very tender. The toppings on my avacado toast were spot on! The bloody Mary's paired wonderfully with both too lol They make some amazing by scratch food here. Service is always amazing and so friendly. Great teamwork too. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable and good vibes.

You have lots of choices in the Lenexa area for a burger or a beer, but Murphy's Corner has a…read morelittle edge to it. Pretty good eats, great specials, and a full bar makes for a solid dining option for solos, couples, or families. You'll find Murphy's Corner nestled into a strip center facing 87th. The owner apparently did catering prior to opening this space and you can certainly tell with the food. The menu has lots of options, from standard pub fare to housemade pizza to some rather artisanal salads. I'd suggest the chicken sandwich, hand-breaded and fantastic. Or even the Hinkle, roast beef & thinly cut pork tenderloin with a sweet pepper aioli, is a fabulous sandwich. But don't miss that happy hour from 2:00-6:00 on weekdays. The smashburger special runs $6 for a single, and even that is a fair-sized burger, and maybe share a side with someone special. The smashed patty(s) come with the usual accoutrements, including a 'special sauce' that makes the smash a smash. Secret of the pros: get two patties, because it's worth the extra $3 and it's sensational. If there is any knock, then it might be the speed of service. Having stopped in several times, I don't think I have ever had the kind of turnaround that I can get many other places. But the food often makes it worth the wait, so I can only knock it for one star. Pricing is fair and certainly on the level with the area, parking is shared with other spots along the strip, and the atmosphere is wonderful. There are a TON of TVs in all directions, and you can even sit on the patio in nicer weather. It's a neighborhood spot with great food, great atmosphere, and great specials. Get there.

Fun, unique, quirky hole-in-the-wall, all rolled into one…read more We were looking for a good pizza. Not our strong suit in KC. So, after checking reviews and ads, we headed from Lee's Summit to Third Coast Pizza. When we got there, it wasn't the vibe we were looking for. The person waiting on us knew right away and said Go next door, and you will find what you are looking for. You can get the same food, but you want the bar feel of Next Door. Thought that was odd, but we were in for an experience, so we went next door to Sara Mcginty's. We sat down at the bar, and the person we were talking to walked through the doorway between the two operations and said, " So what do you think. We loved it! This is what we were looking for. We started talking and learned about the owners and the Chicago connection. We were after pizza, so we ordered a pizza. But this is Chicago in Lenexa, so we had to have a Chicago dog. Then we needed an Italian beef. Then I said, " Oh, it would be perfect if you had a Chicago handshake. That is an Old Style and a shot of Jeppson's Malört. Bam, there it was on the bar. Sorry I asked. Jeppson's Malört is a bitter drink and an acquired taste I haven't acquired yet. But I ordered it, so I drank it. The hot dog was great! So was the pizza. Next time we will do the deep dish. This place is so cool: if you bring in your cast iron skillet, they will make a deep dish to go in it. Want a place that is old school. Super friendly and hosts wild, different events. Darts or pool while hanging out with good people and great Chicago-style food? Well, this is your place. Can't wait for our next trip to Lenexa.

I can't say enough good things about this brewery! We love the music on Sunday afternoons, and the food trucks/bands during the weekend. We love events like cookie decorating and pumpkin carving that they host! I appreciate that they give back to the community (Sundays with a "Pourpus" where part of each beer purchase is donated to a local charity for example), we adopted a puppy on one of those days! We've been coming since they opened and it's been really fun to see how they've grown in the last several years!

But you're coming for the beer, and the beer is really great. Limitless has gone from a location in a light office park to its own standalone building, complete with patio and plenty of space. There are generally half a dozen or more of their own craft brews on tap ranging from IPA through porter/stout. You may have even had some of their flagship beers elsewhere, such as JoCo Juice, a hazy IPA or Rolling in the Deep, a double New England IPA. I myself go for malt over hop, so I find their Marzen to be one of my favorite beers. If they have their Mexican lager on tap, then I also suggest sampling that as well. A flight of four runs you $14-ish and is a great value, as the sample sizes give you plenty of opportunity to really get a feel for their offerings. If you find something you really like, then you can take four-packs home to go in cans. Limitless is open almost every day, at least until 7:00 and when the weather is nice, the patio was a must do. There are frequently people playing a board game or just enjoying the space, and while I don't want this to be just another noisy space, they could do with maybe a TV or two more. But that is just me being picky and since they are in the neighborhood, I like visiting whenever I can.

The space is smallish but they do have bar seating in addition to seating throughout. The service was friendly and the drinks were great. They don't offer food, but they do offer cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails. I went on a Sunday and they have a special menu called "Almost Monday." It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. My favorite between the two was the Negroni. It had a pretty color and wasn't too sour or strong. I'd def recommend it and get it again. Definitely stop in and check out this cute spot in Shawnee.

When you arrive there is parallel parking available outside the bar. When you walk in you'll feel like your bright, vibrant, and feels incredibly welcoming. Also, they have some really fun drinks as well that have been thoughtfully put together. We ended up sitting at the bar and I started with the Reformed Porn Star (vanilla vodka, bronson's tropical milk punch, passion fruit, Prosecco, citric acid and popping boba) which was by far my favorite drink and felt like I could have drank a couple more of these. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us. Between the creative cocktails, fun atmosphere, unique floral setting, this was a memorable experience I'd definitely return for.

The atmosphere was great and fast, very friendly service. I got the nachos supreme, but I subbed chorizo for the chicken. The nachos came out and had the proteins lined up in order. Beef on one side, chorizo in middle and then beans on the last. I haven't had them not just piled up all together, but this worked out great. I could make each nacho how I wanted with the combo. I requested their spicy salsa because I like the heat kick. It was really good and with a slightly smoky flavor. I would for sure try this place for dinner one evening. I forgot to take a picture of the nachos until I already started to dig in, I was hungry lol

Joke or not, one server stated they didn't want to share tips with a bartender. If you sit at the bar, whatever server takes your first drink order is your server for the duration of your stay. Good luck getting a drink or food until your server comes back to the bar to prepare a drink for another customer. Paying your bill is harder than getting another drink.
