I came here twice on my trip! The coffee is excellent and the staff is super nice. The Spanish is an espresso latte with condensed milk. A sweet treat. The dark is basically a mocha with delicious dark chocolate that's bitter-sweet. We also got one of the round baked goods that had a nice crunch crust of Caramelized sugar. Delicious. Great area. Came here on a Saturday after lunch and it was decently busy. Despite how busy it was, we were able to place and receive our order rather quickly. The Brooklyn location has really clean interior and big windows to allow lots of natural light coming in. There were some seatings and tall tables available for customers. I ordered a Kyoto Latte, which has a subtle sweet taste to the latte - this is my personal go-to order here but I've heard good things about Spanish Latte and Dark Latte as well! I've been on the constant search for a pastry place that has kouign amanns in NY, and have had difficulty finding any. However, I was happy to find this coffee shop after looking online for places that sold kouign amanns! Not only do they have good kouign amanns (especially if you're able to reheat them up in the oven for a few minutes for ultimate flakiness), but their other pastries are pretty delicious and so is their coffee. I am a big fan of their Spanish and Kyoto latte. It has just the subtlest hint of sweetness to pair with the overall boldness of the coffee. The milk The overall aesthetic of the coffee shop is also pretty awesome! Overall very modern and chic. I will say though, sometimes the line does get super long so if it's a weekend morning, I would try to go earlier if you can. I was excited to try Arabica ever since I saw the buildout in Dumbo! I didn't realize that % Arabica is an international brand with coffee shops all over Asia and the world. Their branding is super cute from the cups to the merch. The store itself is beautiful, open and airy. Everything inside is custom, even the espresso machine. I'll start by saying, I'm not sure we ordered very well. We got one 16oz iced Spanish latte, one 16oz iced dark latte, and a Kouign-aman which was almost $25. Although the flavor was nice, it had barely any coffee flavor and tasted more like super sweet vanilla cream. The dark latte was even sweeter and was super thick with very little espresso flavor- it was a lot more like a thick chocolate milk. For the price and little evidence of coffee, it really didn't seem worth it. Keeping in mind... when I order an iced latte I like a rich coffee flavor where the milk doesn't take over, I'm sure many people prefer the sweet milk taste. When I stop by again I'll make sure to make a more coffee-centric order to get that espresso flavor I missed out on. Worth dropping in if you live in the neighborhood! read more

% Arabica is originally from Kyoto, Japan. We visited their locations in Japan a few years ago and love their Iced Latte so much. We were super happy to see they finally extended their business to NYC, the city with tons of people who is addictive to caffeine. We had their Iced & Hot Latte and prefer Iced one much better, which was really refreshing, delicious and greatly balanced between coffee & milk. We bought a bag of their coffee beans home and it was also perfect with our espresso machine. Prob the best coffee I've had in the city so far. They pride themselves on roasting all beans in house. I've read the owners bio it was very inspiring. The service was very friendly. During COVID-19 as of July 2021: As a returning customer all the way from the neighboring borough, coming here can be a long ways through public transportation. Located in the heart of the seaport in Brooklyn Heights/DUMBO, this Japanese chain coffee shop from Kyoto is a plus when you're a tourist in this side of NY. On a whim, I came here with my partner for some smooth tasting espresso and, yes, this spot hit our expectations. The interior is amazing if you love minimalist design. White walls and seating with brown wooden accents and % symbols throughout. Like other big named Japanese coffee shops, they are definitely branding themselves from their merch to their coffee creamers. Very thoughtful and creative. The bathroom is interesting, although the times I've visited %, there was toilet paper on the floor or none at hand! The staff is professional and always welcoming. I've only felt positive vibes when interacting with the cashier/barista. What did fall short was when I wanted to purchase one of their bags displayed on the walls and was about to buy a sold out item. I'm not 100% sure if they are stocked with their cute bags and umbrellas so ask beforehand if you're interested. They are quite pricey! Americano is strong, smooth, and refreshing so I know their other espresso drinks should follow through. Besides espresso based drinks, they also serve lemonade and matcha. All roasting is done in house behind the counter. They even showcase the beans in front. Very cool for any specialty coffee fiend- quality and experience. Some pastries are sold here as well like croissants and cannelles. Overall, I'd take anyone here when in the area. Indoor and outdoor seating with a lot of space. I've never heard of %Arabica before, but once I've done my research, I was definitely intrigued. The space is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The fact that the location was right in front of Brooklyn Bridge was a plus as well. The wait for your drink can vary depending on when you go. It was pretty late afternoon, so I didn't want extra caffeine in my system, so I decided to get their Lemonade Sparkling. It was super refreshing for a hot summer day. It didn't taste artificial either. I loved that it tasted just like lemonade without all the added sugar you would get if you were to buy some from a supermarket. My friends tried out their regular iced latte and Spanish latte. I had little sips and I definitely recommend their Spanish latte! I'm not sure how to describe the taste completely, but it was just different from your regular lattes. If you are ever in the Dumbo area, I would definitely recommend coming here to try their drinks once in a while. I am so happy that % Arabica finally made its way to the US! This was one of my favorite coffee chains when I visited Japan. This specific location is fairly new and situated next to Brooklyn Bridge Park. It has a sleek, modern, open interior with mostly standing bar-style tables and a few sit down tables. They also have outdoor seating, which is nice on a sunny day. My favorite drink still is the Kyoto latte, which is rich but not overly heavy. The espresso is strong but balances out really well with the other subtle flavors. It's sweeter than a typical latte but just the right amount. I was meeting a friend at Tsuta next door to % Arabica but I had some time to kill and I needed my coffee fix so when I saw % Arabica I did not hesitate to head inside. I'm so glad I did. The brick exterior with a large, arched window was already appealing to me, but the spacious, clean looking interior really grabbed my senses. It's one of those places where I felt instantly at ease going in and taking in as I tried to figure out where to stand on line. Yeah, so about that, while this place is huge with a large area to for the line, a long counter and many seats, it is a bit tough at first to figure out where to stand. I saw two distinct groups kind of huddled together and it was a bit ambiguous as to where the actual line was. I just asked someone and they pointed at a spot and I went to it. Within a minute a barista was taking my order. I ordered the Spanish Latte with Oat Milk (hot). While my order was being made I used the rest room and found it (relatively) clean. It wasn't a junk pile, but it wasn't spotless either (people can be...messy). By the time I returned to the counter my order was ready. This place is *popular* however. I swear between the time I walked in and walked out I must have seen at least a dozen new customers entering the cafe. The Latte was delicious and very smooth. It had a wonderful velvety texture and flavor. The actually coffee bean flavor was present but not overwhelming. Overall I was very happy with it. Came here on a Sunday morning around 10am. There was no line and we immediately placed our order. The store had a clean interior white design and you can see their branding logo everywhere. I had the Dark Latte which was ultimately a latte with some dark chocolate flavor. My wife had the Kyoto Latte which had a very unique tea flavor and was definitely less sweet than the Dark Latte. Both were very well made and fill of flavor because there was someone supervising the whole process in the back. We weren't able to try % Arabica in Kyoto so glad there were multiple spots in NYC to check them out. First, the space here is great. Because of the large windows, there is a lot of lighting that comes in. Luckily, we were able to grab a few seats during our short stay and gaze out at the iconic Brooklyn bridge right outside. As for drinks, the matcha (hot & iced) were both good. It comes unsweetened, which is true to what Japan does, but they have simple syrup on the side. The customer service was great.
