I've now worked with Ali and ARA Heating & Air Conditioning on two different homes and two very different HVAC projects over the last couple of years, and I can't recommend him highly enough. The first project was at our condo near South Coast Plaza. It was a complicated HVAC installation, and what stood out immediately was that Ali wasn't just trying to sell us equipment--he acted as an advisor and consultant throughout the process. He helped us understand our options, was very fair about what we actually needed, priced the project competitively, and then went above and beyond during the installation and afterward to make sure everything was done correctly and that we understood the system. When we recently moved into a townhouse in Fountain Valley, calling ARA again was an easy decision. This house presented a completely different challenge. It wasn't originally designed around air conditioning, although AC had been added at some point, and the existing system and airflow--especially to the upstairs--left a lot to be desired. Ali took the time to understand what we were trying to accomplish rather than simply recommending that we replace everything. He helped us determine what actually needed to be replaced and, just as importantly, identified improvements to the existing ductwork that could get substantially more conditioned air upstairs. We opened up and improved portions of the ducting as part of the project, and the difference has genuinely been a game-changer for the comfort of the second floor. What I've appreciated most across both projects is that Ali approaches HVAC like someone helping you solve a problem, not someone trying to maximize the invoice. He explains the tradeoffs, gives you options based on your priorities and budget, and then works to find the best solution and pricing within those preferences. When there are worthwhile improvements beyond simply replacing a furnace or AC unit, he'll point those out and explain why they matter rather than just adding things to a quote. After experiencing ARA's work on both a condo near South Coast Plaza and a townhouse in Fountain Valley, I would absolutely recommend Ali and ARA Heating & Air Conditioning to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable HVAC contractor in Orange County--whether you need an AC or heating system replacement, a more complicated installation, ductwork or airflow improvements, or simply someone you can trust to tell you what your home actually needs. It's rare to find a contractor you actively want to call again when you move into another house. Ali is one of those people. read more

We had an excellent experience with Ara Heating & Air Conditioning. They offered us a competitive price for replacing both of our old HVAC systems with new heat pump systems, as well as replacing all of the upstairs ductwork. Ali and his team were always on time, worked long hours each day, and completed a fairly large job quickly and efficiently. Always professional, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. We are very happy with the installation and would definitely recommend them without any hesitation. read more

Ali came on time and was very friendly and informative of what our problem was with our AC. He fixed it quickly and at a fair price.

Ali and his business were exceptional. He answered the call, heard the problem and set a clear expectation of when he could service my home. During a heat wave, he came same day and diagnosed my problem. It would have been fixed same day if it weren't for a part needed. Not even a week from my first call, my AC is now operational and I have a new go to HVAC company. Fair pricing, quick service and awesome guy. Thank you sir, appreciate doing business with you. read more

USE THIS COMPANY!! I got central air installed in my 1960's home by Ali and his team. Ali was communicative, honest, and had the best prices. I got the best quote from Ali and top of the line equipment. It's been a month since I got my AC system installed and it's been the best money I've spent!! According to my older family members, I saved $10,000+ by using this company. Thank you Ali, I'm glad I found a reliable and honest AC tech. read more

I had a great experience with Ali. He answered his phone personally, showed up exactly when he said he would, quickly diagnosed the issue with my AC unit, and had me repaired in under 45 minutes. I called to request a quote and was very disappointed with my experience. The person I spoke with came across as rude and dismissive throughout the conversation. Rather than taking the time to understand the scope of the project, I was flippantly given a quote that seemed significantly higher than expected for the work discussed. Based on the company's many positive reviews, I had anticipated courteous, professional customer service, so this interaction was especially disappointing. read more

Our air conditioner broke during the recent heat wave with brutal record high temps in Orange County. I called Ali at ARA HVAC & Air conditioning. Luckily, Ali was in the neighborhood and was able to squeeze me in. Turns out that mice had chewed through the insulation and taping surrounding the AC wiring and actually chewed the electrical wiring that caused the AC to stop working. Ali fixed the AC and installed insulation and retaped the unit. I'm assuming that the work that Ali did was customary for qualified HVAC technicians but what makes Ali special is his attention to neatness and detail and he is very easy to work with and has fair pricing. We've been pleased using Ali for several years for our heating and AC needs and will continue to do so. read more

Did great work, timely response, fair price. Called them on a Sunday and they arrived within an hour.

So glad we called ARA Heating. They responded quickly and were able to come out the same day, which was a huge relief. Ali was knowledgeable, honest, and easy to talk to--no upselling, just straightforward advice and fair pricing. We have an older unit, and he was still able to diagnose the issue and fix it on the spot. That alone says a lot. Thanks so much, Ali, for the great service. We'd absolutely recommend ARA Heating and wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any heater or AC needs. read more

Yes very good experience. Ali came out within 2 hours and got our system analyzed and recharged in no time. He did a thorough inspection which included the outdoor unit and the apparatus in the attic. All of this at a very, very reasonable price. Thanks Ali! Ali and his crew is fantastic to work with and I highly recommend anyone looking to upgrade to use them. We just purchased a very old home in Irvine with a dated HVAC system. Before taking on the job he carefully explained to me what needs to be done. His team put the furnace up in the attic, replaced our condenser and put in whole new ducting. His team was very professional and cleaned up the area after each working day. He also helped out immensely by removing and disposing of a 100gallon water tank from the garage. Thank you Mr. Ali !! read more

Stumbled upon Ali through Yelp and he did not disappoint. He is extremely knowledgeable and certainly knows how to tune up an HVAC system or in my case, old furnace, to a new 4th generation Google Nest Home. He was able to pinpoint and diagnose every fault and explained his process as I shadowed his work. His work is truly professional-grade. I will be calling Ali back again for all of my home needs. Thanks! read more

We lost more than $6K..Faulty workmanship in our office HVAC system. Upon inspection of a certified company we had to hired, the company found the main lines to the unit were improperly wire nutted together. One wire nut was incorrectly installed, causing the wires to overheat, catch fire, and short out the entire system's control boards. Additionally, the indoor motor's low voltage wiring was shorted, and the SAVANT thermostat was blown and shorted in two places. Both the main PC board and defrost board were also damaged, with the defrost board having a blown capacitor. We reached out to them several times with not respond. read more

Days after I cancelled my appointment with Ali, my AC broke again. Ali was professional and gracious and scheduled me on the calendar to come out right away. He diagnosed the problem and quoted me a reasonable price. Ali is absolutely amazing and he'll be our go to person moving forward for any HVAC issues! We've been going through so many issues with our AC for almost a month and had tried to work with two other companies before - one is demanding for additional services that are obviously not required and the other quoted us a rocket high price with possible a long lead time. It's simply a nightmare until we met Ali with ARA. He showed up perfectly on time and identified and resolved the issue right away. He also provided a lot of great information for our reference! If you're going through a nightmare with your HVAC and wanted to make sure you work with a reliable and knowledgeable technician, Ali is the guy! Thank you, Ali, for your assistance! read more

Our A/C went out in 100 degree weather about 5 PM on a Friday. I called Ali (the owner) and asked how soon can he be at our home? He said in a few minutes....Wow, I was shocked! He was able to diagnose and replace the faulty capacitor which controls the outside fan condenser which was not working after the A/C went out in a few minutes...I would have thought there is no way an A/C repairmen would respond in just minutes in this kind of extreme heat. read more

ARA installed our AC and furnace a couple of years ago for a very affordable price. Last week my nest thermostat started acting up, on an extremely hot day of 101. I called the owner/installer and he said he would drop by in an hour. Which he did. The problem was a chip on the ac unit which he replaced right away and didn't charge us a dime. Amazing person amazing service. We are so happy we picked his company to install our ac. read more

Ali at ARA has been my go-to-guy for any HVAC/AC issues since my first call and Yelp review over 7 years ago. Over the years, he has done a great job handling any minor repairs needed at my home or at my parents' home. Last week, the AC unit at my parents' home stopped working and Ali came over same day I called him. For the first time, he mentioned the 25+ year old unit finally died. He suggested replacing with a Carrier Heat Pump which I had never heard of. He gave me this serial numbers and a quote and I began immediately researching everything. Ultimately, I went with Ali and his suggestion. He quickly scheduled the work. He and his crew showed up with 2 professional-grade vans. They were on time. Their work was very clean and professionally done. He explained everything to me and I believe the price I paid was a fair one. Today, I am enjoying the cool air from my new heat pump. I will continue to call Ali at ARA for any HVAC issues. read more

I really appreciate Ali's honesty. Any repair company can be good at what they do but it is always hard to find a company that's truly honest. I am so happy to have found Ali. We sold our home and just had a home inspection done. The inspection showed that our 4 year old AC unit wasn't reaching 20 degree differential. I don't even know what that means but Ali took his time explaining how my AC exactly works and that humidity can effect the degree differential. He carefully looked all the filter areas, opened up the ac unit, he even cleaned the inside of the unit for me. He throughly checked every single wire of the unit. I was hovering over him asking about everything he was doing. He was so honest and took his time explaining everything for me. He concluded that there's nothing wrong with my AC unit. read more

Absolutely,Responsibly,Amazingly (ARA) or I just say (ALI). I can not say enough good things about Ali. Ali's knowledge, expertise and diagnostic skills are above and beyond the competition. This review is NOT being written by a program but by a 76 year old guy. I am convinced that the problems that came up last year and new ones this year would not have been solved by a lot of other companies. You can not replicate what Ali knows without being out in the real world working on all kinds of equipment and willing to go the extra mile to solve the issue. Do your self a favor and let Ali help you. Andy D read more

My husband found this company on yelp and saw all the great reviews and got in contact with someone to schedule an appointment. We wanted help with the negative air flow in our house and they said they could definitely help with that. My husband scheduled a date and time for someone to come out and no one showed and never heard from anyone. If they didn't have the time to come out on the date scheduled they could've just let us know in the beginning instead of just not showing at all. read more

Had an appointment scheduled, zero follow up while we've been without AC. No accountability, look elsewhere.

Very professional and helpful. Would highly recommend! Came to clean my ac and did a great job.

Extremely expensive, quick response time. Called Ali and he came within one hour to replace ICM271 control board and Honeywell T6 Pro thermostat. The control board sells for $51.90 at Walmart, the thermostat is $60.00 at Hone Depot. Ari charged me a total of $690.00 for these two parts and simple installation that took him well less than one hour. A very expensive lesson learned. read more

I am writing my review a few months after the owner came by to replace our heating thermostat, so I don't remember his name, only that he is the owner. He did a great, superior job. 5-start quality. And he is a wonderfully accommodating guy. It was a great blessing to find him via Yelp reviews. The only reason I hesitate to write this review is that, if my 5-start review convinces you to use him, he may not be available the next time I need him. He really is great. read more

After suddenly experiencing malfunctioning air conditioning in our home I actually saw the ARA truck while walking. I made a call and Ali, the owner, told me to expect him in approximately 2 hours. Like clockwork he arrived and within 2 minutes after hearing of the issue, he identified to problem, had the replacement part and was able to resolve the problem within 30 minutes. Excellent service provided by a true knowledgeable professional. I'm very happy to reccommend ARI and regret it has taken me several months to submit this review. read more
