We were frequent patrons of Coco prior to the fire and Covid, and occasionally brought friends & family for dinner. We returned to their new location in Vitacura last week for lunch, and enjoyed it so much that we came in again for lunch yesterday, which was even more phenomenal! We enjoyed the platter for 2 of a variety of delectable fresh seafood to include king crab, sea urchin, scallops, prawns & more; a Chilean seafood soup with an unforgettable broth, sautéed filets of trout. Couldn't resist indulging in an appetizer of sea urchin ("uni") that was so fresh and simply prepared that was the best we've ever had! Their new venue is delightful, and our table next to the a window made for entertaining people watching. Amazing seafood place in Santiago, definitely recommend that you give it a try when you are in town. The restaurant socialize in local seafood from Patagonia, the most popular is the whole king crab. There are two options, whole king crab for two or king crab for four. I think the price is pretty reasonable and the crab is fresh and delicious. Visiting from Miami. Service is genuine and truly friendly professional. The Pisco Sour is solid but not spectacular. Had two Catedral and was OK. The Ceviche is good as well as the Ostiones Chalaca. The Centolla was not fresh; even after requesting butter draw was tasteless and felt previously frozen. Sadly we get better King Crab at our local Costco in Miami. We ordered a Congrio afterwards that was delicious and the Torta de Abuela was truly tasty. We appreciate the details of our great server, Daniel Carter and the rest of the team, but management needs to upgrade its ingredients. The wine menu is excellent also, with traditional strains such as Carmenere, Malbec, and Sauvignon Blanc, but also other interesting options such as Carignan, Risling. Unfortunately they were out of King Crab for One, so instead of walking out I ordered the whole King Crab which is way too much for one person. Super delicious served with warm butter and a variety of sauces that I didn't try. Didn't even touch the bread much less order anything other than a Coke to drink. Even at about $150 USD, this is 1/3 cheaper than what we pay back in the US. Service is exceptional and had no problem in English. After many years of traveling, i can honestly say this is one of the best seafood restaurants i have ever been to. We came here as a large group for a company outing. The ambiance: I will say it was a bit odd, some styling murals, some modern, some older, large wooden ships, nothing really "matched", some jungle motif, the craziness worked though. The service: Top notch, from the moment we walked in until the moment we left, there was never a moment where we had to call for anything. The drinks: I mainly had pisco sours, and they were fantastic. Whatever wine we chose was also phenomenal. The seafood: This is what earns it it's 5 stars (and beyond if i could). I tried the clams, prawn, mixed Chilean seafood dish, and some other appetizers. They were out of this world, all so fresh and among the best i ever ate. Was recommended this restaurant by our hotel to celebrate my birthday. We were a little hesitant as sometimes the restaurants that are hotel recommended are pure hype. As you approach the outside it looks like a fancy house in Beverly Hills and then you enter and the decor is unique and very stylish. We sat downstairs in one of the wine cellars, the tables are on top of each other so beware there is no privacy and you will be hearing your neighbor's conversations. We started off with a bottle of wine which their wine list is over priced but we kinda knew that coming in. Started off with the ceviche and the fresh crab meat appetizer which was a fun presentation and even took the crab back to scrap the meat out of the crab legs! Then we got the trucha with tomato (had no flavor) so then we ordered the other trucha with shrimp which was better but oily. I was really hoping to get some fish on the grill but I settled. They could improve their service as it takes them awhile to bring your water and refill your drinks. What I really loved about this place was the ambience from the bathrooms to the underground wine cave, they have it nailed down! Wow this is probably one of the best restaurants in santiago. The theme of the restaurant js all about sustainable seafood and the place itself is a piece of art. Forget your diet was a bit of a let down. Looks like american fast food to me with fried conger eel, papa fritas and sunny side up. Our second night in this glorious city brought us to this sublime restaurant by glowing praise from the hotel staff, locals, abd even our cab driver. Originally we found it highly recommended on yelp and were delighted that everyone we talked to agreed. So we took the yelped advice and made our reservation a day ahead. As with most restaurants in Chile, its a good idea to book a table beforehand. Basically you will have the table all night and they don't rush you around. Quite the opposite so sit back and enjoy the scenes and amazing wine of the region. At Coco, dinner doesn't start till 8 so we made our table for that time with plans on staying all night. We did just that. We arrived at 8 and there was already a group waiting outside for the doors to open. They were all locals so we took this as a very good sign. Once we entered they brought us upstairs to our perfect table. The decor is dark wood and a bit native mixed with nautical elements, reminder of their special seafood. It was truly stunning, romantic and fun at the same time. The service was 5 star, and the food and wine were even beyond. We had two local red wines, one syrah and one cab. Both were insanely good. For starters we went with the recommendation of the server and after the successful course; we let him bring us whatever he wanted through the night. I had salad, scallops, hake, and a lemon dessert. My husband loved his shrimps cooked in spicy oil the most. Honestly it was sad to leave and I will always remember this lovely venue with its extraordinary food and wine. We had dinner last night. I had grouper grilled with butter and white rice, the fish was wonderful. My wife had salmon and asparagus, which was also very good. We were disappointed in the squash and potatoes dish, could not taste or find the squash in the dish. Overall the restaurant is very pretty (looks like the inside of a boat) and service is adequate, we know very little Spanish, and the personnel's very little conversational English. A warning however, the floors are very very highly polished, and slippery. The stairs do not have adequate rails and I fell flat on my face going down the stairs before dinner. The staff was very caring, but the fall ruined my dinner experience and actually my last days in Santiago and our flight home. read more

The waiter was very sketchy and kept talking only to my husband since he was the foreign person at the table. Check came and obviously my husband just paid without questioning. I would like to chalk it up to language barrier, because this place seemed special locally revered. We just had a hard time. We ordered two glasses of chard to start. My husband and I had the King crab for one and Ceviche for appetizers and it was delicious and very fresh fish. For dinner I had the Angelmo Bass which was wonderful!. It was kind of like a stew with mushrooms, broth, potatoes etc. My husband had the Abalone Risotto and it was very flavorful and the abalone was cooked perfect! This place is pretty much about seafood - something I was looking for . The interior is interesting - wood floors and ceilings with some cool design. The food was ok but not excellent. I had the empanadas de mariscos: these come deep fried instead of baked which overshadows the subtle flavor of the filling. As an entree I had the centolla tart which was a little greasy. Liked the salad (palmito, tomatoes, avocado). For desert I chose the chocolate mousse which was neither very chocolaty - and served far too cold. I accompanied the food with a Chilean Pinot noir - also served too cold. The service is friendly for Chilean standards but I was seated at a table close to the kitchen - the waiters would pile up dirty plates and cutlery next to my table - without taking any notice of me. Aqui Esta Coco is one of the most famous restaurants in Chile. Yes, it is a tad on the touristy side, but it is nevertheless a must-try for any foodie paying a visit or local who has not tried it. My party did not have a reservation the night that we went (a Friday night, incidentally); however, we arrived early enough (around 7pm or so) that we were able to secure a table for a party of seven before the dinner rush began. If you plan on arriving later than we did, I highly recommend making a reservation as, shortly after we arrived, the restaurant was buzzing. Similar to other reviewers' comments, the first thing you notice when you step inside is the zany decor: A mix of rustic wooden and glass elements with a pacific, tropical theme, peppered with vegetation and all manner of art pieces and nautical antiques. Also, I won't spoil the surprise but, if you like art & humor, make sure you pay the bathroom a visit before you leave. After a warm reception at the door and being escorted to a large circular, corner table, our party of seven was immediately greeted by our waiter and offered beverages. The service here is superb, and very friendly. As our waiter took our drinks order, the wait staff brought us fresh bread with butter and a hard-to-describe citrus-like dipping sauce (which is outstanding). To open with, we ordered a round of Pisco Sours (a must-do when in Chile or Peru) and a four-part ceviche appetizer consisting of two kinds of shrimp and octopus. Both were superb. Honestly, I could have just eaten more ceviche and bypassed the mains. As for the Pisco Sours, they were so good we opted to bypass a bottle of wine that evening and just keep ordering Piscos instead. Unfortunately, my main was a bit of a step down from there. The Congrio I ordered - a combination of a Red Conger fish filet served under a mound of octopus and other seafood and potatoes - while delicious, lacked the wow factor of not only the opening ceviche appetizer, but that of the rest of my party's orders as well (at least, the ones I tasted). Among other things, I recall the octopus pieces being just a tad too chewy for my taste (and i love octopus!). Again, it was "good" but it did not live up to the restaurant's other strong attributes: venue, energy, service, etc. I certainly would not order it again. Regrettably, I can't comment on dessert because, by the time we finished our mains, the entire table was stuffed. Bottom line: Definitely a place to try, if for no other reason than the fact that it is a staple of the Santiago culinary scene and anyone you speak with there knows of it and has likely been there. The decor, service, and energy level get high marks but, in my case, my lackluster Congrio main course forces me to take one star off the top. I plan on going back the next time I am in Santiago and will update my review when I do. read more

We had delicious spinach crepe with crab, seafood ceviche, salmon with asparagus, baked sea bass wrapped in aluminum foil, crab pie (recommend the spinach pie with crab instead), conger eel, shrimps in delicious pil-pil sauce. Dear Coco, Don'change anything to your restaurant, it's excellent. Everything deserves 5 stars. The decoration and ambiance are sophisticated, pleasant and very maritime. My favorite part was a porthole shaped window incrusted in the porch, where you see a glimpse of their wine cellar. The food was exceptional. I recommend you do not stop in Santiago without visiting Aqui Esta Coco, but make sure to reserve ahead. We had the scallops in parmesan cheese to start, which was delicious with coupes of champagne. Next we had the the sea bass with salmon and the chilean seafood mix. Both of those dishes were incredibly good. The flavors were delicate, and enhanced, not taken over, by the spices and seasoning. Plating was beautiful. Not a single thing amiss. We ended the meal on a beautiful note, with the Torta de la Abuela, a kind of Millefeuille with dulce de leche and a scoop of ice cream. I'm running our of synonyms for delicious, but you get the idea. Finally, the service was impeccable. Henry, our waiter, only needed a glance to understand we needed something. He was always discreet and helpful, and provided recommendations when we asked him. I strongly recommend anyone to try this place. Don't forget to dress up though. read more

Note that you will need to ask specifically for tap water if you don't want to wind up paying $10 for water without realizing it!
