I had the BEST experience. The food, customer service, quality, cleanliness was AMAZING. Highly recommend. I went to the one in Buenos Aires which was great but this one definitely topped it. Will come back! Thank you to my waiter Angel.

    600g of tasty steak house

VERY good steak house, I come down here for work and have been to this place twice, food is excellent, you will not leave hungry, for my American friends 600g of steak is a TON! Prices are quite good too

I have heard that this La Cabrera has only temporarily relocated to the former Le Pain Quotidien in Las Condes near Tiramisu while its Vitacura location is under renovation, but this may just be a rumor. Either way, it's wonderful to have such great service and delicious food and drinks in this perfect location, and I hope it stays. Upon arrival, as is now the covid norm, you scan your wrist at the temperature machine before being seated outside. At your table, you must scan a QR code provided by your server and answer a few questions and declare that you will not share food. Given that this is the land of food sharing, what's a girl to do? Well, fortunately, the staff completely understands and portioned out all of our shared dishes from appetizer to desserts. The provoleta here has more of a queso fundido feel since it comes not on a hot plate but in a cast-iron skillet with Chilean bacon on top. We started with this and the sausage, which was a winner. The menu comes in two formats: your placemat (horrible, busy graphics) and a QR-code phone version. Half of our group of four ordered steak, which they said was good if a bit gristle-y; one ordered risotto, which she said was too salty; and I opted for a pasta. Unfortunately, there were no pasta dishes available--ravioli with pumpkin, spinach and cheese, or lamb--much to my disappointment. Instead, I opted for the salmon salad, which comes with several balls of cream cheese rolled in black and white sesame seeds. It was good, but I had to take half of it to go in order to enjoy not one but two desserts. First came the cheesecake with berries, which was lovely, and then the chocolate lava cake, which was rich and delish. We all had several mixed drinks from an old fashioned to Pisco sour to a rusty nail, but for our main course, we ordered two bottles of the Arboleda carmenere, which has a little bite to it and isn't too sweet. On our way out, the jefe gave us lollipops--four per couple--which I had completely forgotten about until I opened my purse the next day. Oops! If this place is only here temporarily, it would be wise to go now!

Fun easy spot to go to in the mall. Portion sizes are huge. Kids food available too. They brink the check out with lollipops!

Rather than gooey provaleta and "a lo pobre" fries, you will see mozzarella sticks, truffle mac and cheese, and burrata on the menu. The first time we brought U.S. guests here, I was actually a little bummed that everything was so familiar to them, but Carnal did not disappoint. We have come here with big groups and the staff are always accommodating. The wines are delicious and unique and the meat cuts are very American (as one Yelper points out, it's USDA, so you cannot go wrong). I highly recommend the Caesar salad, creamed spinach, mac and cheese, and oysters (they might be small and lacking the usual condiments, but they are tasty and you might just get more than you ordered). My hubby recently tried the cheese steak sandwich, which was VERY salty, but the fries on the side were perfect. I have tried the surf-and-turf risotto, which was very rich, salty, but an excellent way to enjoy the steak as well as seafood. Even if you're not in the mood for steak and want a salad, the dressing is perfect and the portion size is just right. Carnal has indoor and outdoor seating options and both are great since the street is not too busy and the inside is not too noisy. This spot can be romantic or all business. Enjoy!

Our hostess was super friendly even though only one of us spoke Spanish. We were seated right on time and Enrique our server tag teamed with Patricio (who spoke perfect English) to take amazing care of us. Delicious warm bread with three toppings to start (refilled too). Which was great because the kids were super hungry! Enrique recommended a seared salmon appetizer and a delicious fried avocados and chicken appetizer that were out of this world. We had four different cuts of steak from ribeye to sirloin to spareribs to flank steak and a burger with truffle fries to top it off. Everyone LOVED THEIR FOOD. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Patricio even explained the four different Chile meat temperatures for us so we knew exactly what to expect. We had a side of gnocchi with pesto cream (best I've ever had, definitely made from scratch) and desserts were chocolate lava cake, profiteroles and crème brûlée. We had an EPIC experience at this magical buzzing steakhouse and we can't wait to come back. Huge kudos to Patricio and Enrique for making our evening so special. We are so grateful.

However - I wish I hadn't ordered the bleu cheese salad because it was good but I was sooooo full and I wanted to enjoy my salmon. The French onion risotto was absolutely amazing. I had never tasted such a combination of flavors and I found myself dipping my spoon in this dish even when I had given up on my main meal due to being full. It was just that good. My husband and I do not speak Spanish and we had no trouble ordering and asking for recommendations. Everyone was super helpful and attentive. If visiting Santiago, ensure you make at least one trip to Ox. I made my reservation on line via email. It's in a nice residential area and a quick uber ride to the city. Consider doing a 1pm lunch and then going to the cathedral square for the free walking tour at 3:30. You'll want to walk off your meal!

Alas, we decided to go to Ox at the last minute on a Saturday night, and all the al fresco tables were already booked, but there were plenty of tables inside. We ordered a round of pisco sours to start - delicious and refreshing. A plate of warm bread soon followed. For starters, I ordered the blue cheese salad, which turned out to be enormous, but I found it to be long on iceberg lettuce and short on toppings. Definitely enough for two people to share - wish I'd known that. For dinner I got the bone-in ribeye steak. It was one of the most beautiful steaks I've ever seen - check out the picture. It was served with a couple different kinds of salt, which I'd recommend skipping, because the steak had plenty of flavor to stand on its own. Although the steak was done just right, unfortunately about a third of it was gristle and fat. I don't mind some fat on a ribeye, but in this case it was excessive. The restaurant has a nice wine list. We ordered a bottle of Chilean red, which was beautifully presented and a great complement to the steaks. As a joke, our waitstaff brought over an oversize bottle of wine to place on our table and offered to take our pictures. I guess it was pretty obvious we were tourists. As another whimsical touch, a dish of complimentary cotton candy was delivered to our table at the end of the meal. Overall, a good experience, although a bit pricey for what we got.
