A tip led us here to where the locals like to eat and we quickly discovered why. The surrounding area is filled with nightlife restaurants and clubs, so we ate outside on the patio deck to soak up the atmosphere. For an appetizer, you can't miss with the cheese empanadas with shrimp. For dinner, wifey went with the beef tenderloin tips on potatoes and it was delicious. I went with the Milanesa de pollo queso or for the gringos speaking folks out there , fried chicken steak with cheese. It sat on a very tasty rice bed and I highly recommend trying it out. All portions were huge and you won't leave hungry for sure. We topped off dinner with the crepes with a small scoop of vanilla and chocolate. It was very chocolatey and maybe a bit beyond my taste, but had it put it down because, well, that is what I do.

This was our favorite place in Santiago and was so good we went back a second time which we never usually do! They have numerous traditional Chilean dishes to try (loved the Sopapillas a fried pumpkin bread, the stews and a sweet corn casserole). The staff was very kind and accommodating with our baby sleeping in a stroller. Vibrant area to walk around especially at night.

Nice restaurant that we stopped in for lunch on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Our tour guide recommended this place. We ate outside and enjoyed the people watching and music of this neat neighborhood. We started with their empanadas. They were large and stuffed with sliced beef, onions, eggs, golden raisins, and olives. They were very good. I got the sliced beef and cheese sandwich and my wife the chicken broth and vegetables soup. Both were good and very hearty. The beers were cold. Service was a little spotty because of the crowds this afternoon so we had periods of wait for our food and beers.

The best food and drink to be found in Santiago is at Galindo!!! This is what you will be saying after dinner Visiting from the United States and our tour guide said it was her favorite so we took her world for it and we were blown away. So much so went that the next night when we went somewhere else all we could do was compare it to Galindo and decided to go back again after we finished.

We had lunch in this unassuming wonderful restaurant. Our hotel had recommended it since we were going to be in barrio Bella Vista. We were not disappointed! When we arrived there were few people there by the time we left, we saw both inside and outside section full. The food is typical Chilean "comfort" food at VERY reasonable prices. We had Pastel de Choclo, a corn casserole and Paila Marina. Both were absolutely delicious. The sparkling wine and chardonnay were very good at 3..50 US per glass. Our waitress, Lucy was great! She was attentive, patient and so knowledgeable about the food. I highly reccomend this eatery both for the quality and the price.

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at my hotel because they offer traditional Chilean entrees. Several of the people in my large party ordered one of these traditional dishes and were put off by the unusual ingredients including sugar in the beef dish. I ordered one of the fish main courses instead with spicy mashed potatoes. It was a good choice. Beware of the beef and egg menu item with french fries. It looked like chunks of dog food on a bed of french fries. The Galindo light beer went down easy with an inexpensive price to match. They don't provide separate bills but were helpful in dividing up the bill when it was time to pay.

Very local restaurant in a busy hip neighborhood. Very minor translation issues but we got past it quickly. The menus are printed in Spanish and English, making it easy to find the best things and know what we're ordering. Is it touristy? I did not think so. Our table seemed to be the only ones speaking English. My dining partner chose the "Pastel de choclo" which is a corn pie made with mashed corn (local Chilean corn which is slightly different than American corn), ground beef, onions, egg, chicken, black olives and raisins. It looked good and smelled good and it was quite filling. I chose the "Porotos con longaniza" which was a bean soup with mashed corn, pumpkin, basil and red pepper plus a pork sausage. Serious carb load here but it was extremely delicious and I could eat not even half. Tasty, spicy with flavor (not hot) and an interesting local specialty. Galindo has their own brewed beer and the Galindo Light is a pilsner lighter beer. Crisp and good for a warm day.

Love this place! Food and ambience are both awesome. Lots of locals. After a strenuous hike at San Cristobal park, we decided to come here for dinner at the recommendation of our hotel concierge. The menu was pretty extensive. We ordered a few things to share. The highlight of the meal was the corn-meal stew baked into a bowl. That was the recommendation and we noticed alot of the locals also ordered the same dish. There was olives, meats, and some other ingredients baked into the dish, the spices used were very unique and added to the flavor. Service was quick and efficient, they also serve a great variety of wine and we go this local Chilean wine that was super tasty. It's one street over from the main tourist street tucked away in the street corner. Easy to find if you are looking the Galindo sign. Definitely recommend.

This is a nice restaurant where you can try local favorites. The wines here is superb and the staff is very helpful at making selections. Just tell them what you like and thats all they need to know. The food is very good. We tried a variety here. Pork shank, salad with lemon dressing, corn pie, and bean stew. All were very tasty. Also try a lemonada witg mint. Very refreshing.

This restaurant in the heart of Bella Vista serves traditional Chilean dishes for reasonable prices considering the neighborhood. The customers were a mix of tourists and Chileans. We tried the: Pastel de Choclo - a hearty mix of sweet corn, ground beef, onion, and other veggies. This would have been delicious if it wasn't so sweet. I'm not sure if this was from the corn or if they added sugar, but I couldn't finish this because of how big the portion was and because of how sweet it got after a few bites. Paila Marina - I preferred this dish! It was jumbo sized bowl of seafood soup with lots of mussels, clams, squid, and large pieces of white fish. The soup was briny and very flavorful. Overall, a good and safe introduction to Chilean cuisine, but you could probably find better versions in more local neighborhoods!

We were looking for a place to eat dinner in Barrio Bellavista. This place was packed at dinner and the menu looked good so we decided to come back and eat here. There was outdoor seating on the sidewalk but we chose to eat inside. We ordered the lomo a lo pobre (steak with fried egg on top) and a pastel de choclo and beers. The food was really tasty. The pastel de choclo was like a creamed corn casserole and it was amazing. The lomo also came with papas fritas. Lots of fried goodness and so amazing. The atmosphere was fun too. They were playing a soccer game on the TVs and one of the waiters was super into it, while working. We couldn't finish our food, so we got a to go box (which younger charged for). We were able to pay with credit card and split it on two cards. Really great place for dinner and to try typical Chilean dishes!

Chilean local food at it's best. That was exactly what we were looking for after many disappointments. Great portions of high quality food and super quick and friendly service. Outside seating is another plus! A must have!

Nice spot to eat outdoors in the Bellavista area. Good for people watching and just hanging outside! The food was really good and they have lots of typical Chilean dishes. I had the garlic shrimp and the serving size was huge. Their salads were fresh and tasty. The popular Chilean egg dish served in the crock was excellent.

When I went the first thing I noticed was how inviting the place was with the fun choice of music and how warm they kept it inside. I also really enjoy the layout of the bar. There are lots of little rooms, each with 3 to 5 tables which makes it perfect for a more private evening out, or you can also enjoy yourself at their classy bar. Naturally there is also space if you want to go out with a group of friends or have a happy hour with your work buddies. They even have karaoke, fun! There pisco sour was just yummy and they have some great things to nibble on as well. They cheese platter is beautifully arranged with salami and several artisanal cheeses. I tried their manchas a la parmesana (clams baked with parmesan cheese) which were not the best I've had, but good. Their empanadas we just fine as well the only strange thing is that they were served on a plate and covered in plastic rap (maybe a mishap). All in all a nice chill bar to spend an evening.
