We even called last night and were assured the captain wouldn't take us out IF the seas were too rough. Guess what. July 28th, 2026 the seas were too rough for this to be enjoyable!!! Multiple people puked. We wanted to switch days to Saturday, but were told we couldn't because it was within the 24 hour cancelation window, but we were given the assurance the captain wouldn't take us out if it was poor conditions. He did. He did!! We all knew it was too rough. We have eyes and read the report. We sailed to Molikini and we could not go in. As we knew!! Then he took us to turtle town. I feel like it was a money grab when the seas are rough and there are hurricane warnings...it should be an allowable reason to postpone to an alternate date. You could keep our money and let us go Saturday. Geez..What an utter shame. Murkey waters. No visibility. I'll book with another boat if we ever do it again. One that values the experience and safety. Pray my husband's sea sickness goes away soon. EDIT: Here's something important to note. If the water conditions aren't safe or if the weather makes the water murkey the experienced captain will cancel. I know that is stressful, but he wants us safe and to have the experience of a lifetime. THAT IS WHAT WE WERE TOLD, BUT IS NOT THE CASE.

We were informed that 3 children was not a problem at all and that the tour guide can easily accommodate for the third child with him. After making a reservation, It turned out that that was not true. Not a family friendly company! We are yet to come across a company that cannot accommodate after making a false promise. Disappointed that these guys have no respect for wasting people holidays and/or making an effort to find an alternative after making a false promise.

Blaze made us comfortable, we got to swim with a sea turtle, swim around coral and see incredible fish, up close. If we could, we'd go back tomorrow for our next dive. They always had Eddie keeping an eye on everyone in the water and helping people that dropped things that sank to the bottom. Eddie made sure you didn't get too far away. I appreciated the free mineral based coral safe sunblock. The hour at the crater and turtle town went by so quickly. Definitely try to be the first one off the boat if you can to maximize your time. They provide wetsuits for rentals if you need it. They also have a lady that is an underwater photographer and she did a nice job of trying to get photos of everyone which I think is the most difficult job on the ship. I liked her photos but thought $45 for a single photo was a bit too steep. I appreciate the fruits and pastures from Whole Foods and the coffee and also the sandwiches and potato salad and juice for lunch. They were delicious. There is something about snorkeling that makes you hungrier than normal. I always felt safe on the boat. A couple of things to point out, the boat gets pretty full so if you want to a covered seat get there early and if you want to sit in the very front you will get wet from the waves coming through the netting. Also the parking there was much more than I thought and read. It was $18ish dollars for 5.5 hrs I was parked there. The parking on the parking only goes up to 3 hours so don't risk getting a ticket even that parking is like $1/hr. The only other thing g which is totally out of the control of Malolo is the amount of tour companies to contend with when you get to the crater. It felt too crowded and too many people there. At Turtle Town there were hardly any turtles on the day we went unfortunately. I had seen more turtles on our own at other beaches than at turtle town, but I did see a couple of turtles. In general, people aren't aware of snorkeling etiquette and oblivious to their surroundings. I had snorkelers cut me off, crash into me, and taking their sweet time getting on and off the boat with the single stairs. Overall a good trip if you want to get out to the crater, but as for turtles, go to a beach on west Maui and you won't really have any issues.

She was very informative and I could tell that she really loves her job. She pointed out a ton of interesting things. We saw at least 9 different green sea turtles. The are so docile and curious. They come close to the outrigger and "wave" to you. Kahala made the trip very memorable. I would 100% recommend this to anyone. The ocean was perfect. No large swell. It was glass. The rowing is also a great way to get in shape.

Incredible hospitality by the staff and well worth the price. Lunch was great with pulled pork sandwiches or giant hotdogs and the open bar on the way home is a great way to finish the day. Highly suggest taking a fun trip on the Leilani. Smaller boat with less passengers then some of the others. Great boat, great crew! Aloha.

My husband and I joined the Leilani for a snorkel trip and had a mixed reaction to it…read more The good: the price was a great value, the crew was friendly and caring, the smaller sized group was better (in our opinion) than some of the larger vessels, there were no kids or heavy drinkers (big plus for us but don't know if that's always the case), and we did in fact see some beautiful turtles, coral reefs, and fish. Food, beverages, and sunscreen provided were very nice, as well! The bad: if you are a man with any facial hair the snorkel mask will leak and be a nuisance during your time in the water (they have no alternatives and this is an ongoing problem for them), we couldn't make it to Molokini because of high winds (not their fault) and the second of the two places they took us to as an alternative was very lacking in sea life (that was a disappointment but again, not entirely their fault), they charge $10 bucks per wetsuit top which drained our cash for tip, and the smaller size vessel was more susceptible to rocking and made several people on board very ill. This rating is mostly based on an overall feeling we had from the trip and not necessarily the fault of the crew, but management needs to get on board with other options for men with facial hair (over 50% of the guys on board) for sure and also give a heads up about cash payments for the wetsuit tops so the crew doesn't lose tip money.

And bathrooms are near by. If you don't have a hat, they have some to borrow. But i highly recommend a hat and sunglasses. They provide the life vests, kayaks, snorkel equipment and dry bags if needed. If you wear glasses, I highly recommend that you rent a optical mask prior to your snorkel trip so you don't miss out on all the fun things to see. Also, highly recommend a pouch for your phone so you can take pictures. We had planned on renting snorkel equipment the day before so that the seven year old cooks try it and get used to the mask. This didn't happen and it maybe would have helped, as jumping off a kayak into deep water, plus adding a weird mask in which you can't use your nose and adding the snorkel was quite overwhelming. Ryan was our guide and was great. Our family was the only group in which everyone had kayaking experience. Most people were new to both. Ryan did a great job explaining everything and making sure that everyone was safe and having fun. He also talked about the different islands near the end. We had a fabulous time. Saw many turtles and fish feeding on the reefs. The views both above and below the water were amazing.

There was parking across the street, and Maui Ocean Sports was easy to find in the back of the complex. The front desk guy and our guide, Luke, were super friendly. Our group of 4 and the other group of 3 in our time slot had all kayaked before, so we got minimal instruction. We saw so many turtles on our paddle out! It was beautiful on the water and we had the best time! They provide water and you can borrow a dry bag if you don't have one, and leave stuff in a cabinet - we left towels and a change of clothes (restroom on the property and place to rinse right off the beach).
