It's interesting that Earnie doesn't list his last name or his address I don't see that he has a business license. Hmm.. We had a miscommunication on the quote. I wrote it down when he gave it to me on the phone. When he finished, he asked me what he quoted. I told him.It was similar to what I paid another spa company the previous year for the same job. That's why I accepted his quote. He flipped like a switch. Aggravated, argumentative. He wanted double the amount. It was crazy. He said he sent an estimate but couldn't find it. I triple checked my email and text. Nothing there. He left in a huff, offended and wouldnt take my check. I was going to mail the check. That's when I found he doesn't list his address. I made an appointment for spa repair to happen on a recent Thursday. I fixed the problem in the meantime which was my breaker box and not the spa, and called and cancelled my appointment on the prior Monday, 4 days ahead of the appointment. I got an irate call back from angry Ernie that Monday threatening me for cancelling, telling me that I owed $125 for having the gall to cancel 4 days in advance. Schedule with these guys and be prepared to be at their mercy I guess. I thought I was doing them a favor by cancelling with 4 days notice. What am I missing here? read more

We called several spa repair outfits in town and all had a huge 'service' fee just to come to the house. Add on top of that the repair cost and you could be looking at several hundreds of dollars. Did I mention that we'd have to wait several days or up to one week before they could get here? AquaClear's travel cost was much lower than everyone else's. And he was at our house within 60 minutes of us placing the initial call. He needed a part; went to three different part stores to find and replaced it all within 90 minutes. What can I say, I moved into a new house recently and needed someone to look at my spa after a brutal winter of it just sitting there all iced up and piled high with snow. Ernie came out, identified a mutitude of things that needed attention and remedied a few on the spot, then advised me to wait and see on some of the others to help save some money. Then he performed a complete cleaning and service, and while we waited for it to fill, he educated me about my unit and spas in general. By the time he left, I felt confident that this guy was a straight-shooter who enjoyed his work, and I couldn't believe that my hot tub (which had looked like such a mess when he showed up) was humming away and getting ready for its first use of the season. But the kicker was that his fee was more than reasonable considering the amount of time that he took, and he didn't pressure me to sign up for anything more. And when I asked what the price would be for a monthly service, it was so good that I immediately jumped on that.
