They over charge, their pedicures starting at $37 and you don't get near done what other places offer for even $25. When they do your nails, they put this clearcoat on the top that they tell you is gel but within two days it's already wearing off at the tips. I just don't feel like the quality and I won't go back. I hate giving reviews, but when you ask for them you have to take the good with the bad. I Have gone here off and on, because you don't need an appointment and they are fast. I've had some good experiences and bad, but this last one took the cake. The man who did my nails was a dirty looking older short guy. He must have just eaten lunch and not washed his hands because there were mustard stains under his nails, which were not neatly clHis work place had not been cleaned after the last client which was the first red flag. I had nail tips applied, but by the time he got through my nails were the same length as when I started. He was very rough and even cut my thumb. Also he used the wrong tip to shape under my nails and burnt my finger tips, which after a week are just now back to normal. If you go to this salon refuse to let this guy do your nails. I went to Aqua Nails and Spa #2 at the Battlefield Mall and it was the worst experience I've ever had. The owner's wife who did my nails was so rough with my nails, did not pay attention to detail, and I felt like she was just rushing the whole time so she can take other customers. She put on some of the acrylic tips very unevenly and cut and filed them down lopsided too. I asked for two simple cursive letters on two of my fingers and after trying many times to try and get it right, she ended up just giving up and said you're just going to get the color you have. Also, my sister in law asked for dip french tip, but they put all white. The lady told my sister in law's nail tech to work faster because he was taking his time. It is better to take your time and pay attention to detail so your customers leave happy rather than rushing and doing messy work with customers leaving unhappy. Not worth $60 + tip for the sloppy work and customer service that I received. Avoid getting the owner's wife because she seems careless with her work. read more

I've been going to Aqua Nails & Spa since they opened, highly recommended them to friends. However, after my last nail appointment on Monday (4/12), I started noticing pain in my left pinky and it continued getting worse until I woke up Thursday morning with my finger swollen and hardly able to move it. I doctored it at home hoping it would be fine, then woke up Friday to my finger extremely swollen and painful. My doctor told me I had contracted a bacterial infection from my set of acrylics either through my cuticles being cut too deep, dirty equipment, or both. I immediately called Aqua Nails after leaving the doctor's office and was told to come by, where a woman (I'm assuming it was the owner) spent the 5 minutes I was in the salon arguing with me and telling me that they didn't cause the issue...even though when I walked up she was already on the phone with someone ELSE who (from my understanding of the conversation) had been cut by someone that works there. Really bummed that I now have to find a new nail salon as they do such good work, but I won't be going back and dealing with people that 1) Gave me a nasty bacterial infection, and 2) Didn't even have the decency to apologize or take responsibility. read more

She also complained the whole time she painted the design, which she okayed before starting. After my nails cured, I noticed a small black hair had dried in the nails (which was not my hair). She seemed extremely agitated that I had asked her to get it out. Trying to convince me it wasn't there so she didn't have to fix it! I will never come back! I'm from Austin and very spoiled with luxury nail places there...I'm so happy to find one finally open for my Springfield visits. My sister and I came for pedicures and we're not disappointed. They have a variety to choose from, and prices are very reasonable. We were immediately offered wine, soda, or water, which was brought on a tray with a bag of pretzels. The massage was great and they use hot rocks, which feels wonderful against your skin. I really liked this place when I was there. They offered me a variety of drinks. It's a really nice lavish salon. It's a bit pricey. I got my nails done with super neat magnetic polish. The reason for two stars is because my cuticles are inflamed and look awful. They are red and very painful. I thought the guy to his time and knew what he was doing but that wasn't the case. It isn't just one finger either. I won't be returning due to this. I just hope this pain subsides quickly. The pictures don't do the damage justice. The Aqua Nails in the mall on Battlefield, not Campbell, make it seem like we ask for the world when asking for 90 degree angles on our nails. I was in Springfield for the day yesterday with nothing to do, so I decided to treat myself to a pedi and fresh nail dip. This is a beautiful salon. One of the gentleman played a beautiful song on the piano while i was having my fingernails done. Very nice. They offered a drink, but at the end I realized they charged me $2 for a can of Dr Pepper. I was a bit disappointed the pedi chair did not recline. The pedi I chose was just the basic. It included a stone massage! The tech assigned to me spoke and understood little English. She took off my old polish and then ran water to soak. She barely soaked my foot a minute before she started cutting my toe nails. First nail she cut too short and it hurt. But I realized as she continued her nail clippers were not sharp. I told her they were full and she hacked on. The massage was disappointing because she only massaged the front of my leg with very little pressure. More like a light scratching. She did a good callus scrub but I had to hold my leg up for her to do it. It wasn't the relaxing experience I wanted. In the end she did very well with the polish and my toes look good. I must have the appearance that says please send your newest most inexperienced tech to do me. I need to add here, I absolutely hate soaking my fingers in acetone! But that appears to be the new thing. Anyway, this young lady put in her finest grit bit and had her drill cranked up high and she took down the old dip product on my nails. Rougher grit and I bit slower on the drill would have been better. She checked every finger as she worked to see it they were hot. Trust me they were hot! Then into extremely hot acetone to soak off remaining product,and was told to scrub my fingers. She did alright with the dip application. I felt she didn't understand me either because I told her the drilling hurt and that the acetone was too hot but there was no response. My nails looked nice glancing at them but they were very uneven in length and had sharp points on the corners that I asked to be rounded. I actually went to Walmart and bought nail files and fixed them after I left. This review is more for the owners of the salon. There were several people working there speaking English, just not the girls who tended me. In the end I spent $77 and walked away disappointed in what was to be a relaxing treat for myself. read more
