unfortunately, due to this pandemic my mom and i were unable to make it into the actual salon... but, one of my mom's friends had commented on a post i made to Facebook in regards to knowing anyone that would be able to safely and effectively remove acrylic nails- well, she suggested this lady, Diane, that works at AQ Nails Spa and so we had her come and do a house-call. she told me that she would give us both a FULL basic PEDICURE, and that she would be able to do a FULL basic MANICURE.. with Shellac, which she charged an extra $15/a person. she didn't have any sort of oil, lotions, scrubs, paraffin waxes or even a portable FOOT-BATH to do these "pedicures". all she did: was remove the polish/shellac that was already on our toes, pushed back the cuticles, and cut the nails down as she was supposed to, oh and of course- re polished them! as for removal of my acrylics- she made a MESS, when clipping them off, and it took 2x as long for her to be able to remove them completely. she wasn't able to 'manicure' them, due to them being so thin. she left residue from the polish and top coating on my actual hand/skin (which is still there)... she didn't remove any excess polish from the sides of my inner nails, or even rub my hands. she was in the biggest rush, i'd ever seen, and was not accommodating. *** she charged me, $65 and my mom around $80 *** ** i gave her around a $15 tip, and my mom tipped her $10 ** I DO NOT RECOMMEND DIANE! read more

I came to this salon after purchasing a Groupon and trying to find a new nail salon since I'm new to the neighborhood. I walk in to a completely empty salon and tell the staff I have a mani/pedi Groupon. I'm promptly told to pick a color and escorted to the first pedicure chair. One woman starts to get the water going for my pedicure, while the other starts grabbing one of my hands to soak my nails. Here I thought I was going to enjoy a relaxing pedicure while catching up on texting with my friends. Nothing relaxing about a pedicure when you're continuously crossing your arm over your body so that this woman can multi task at doing your manicure at the same time as the pedi. Whatever. Basic mani and pedi. I start wondering what I paid $75 for on Groupon. The whole time, no one is speaking English. I'm not being asked how the water was (cold), what shape I want my nails (preferably square but no one cares so not important), am I doing any upgrades (are any even included with this Groupon?). You get the point. Lady wraps up my 20 min basic mani. I ask her if she has a price list so I can see what they offer and she quietly hands me a list and goes back to sitting in the massage pedicure chair to catch back up on whatever she was doing prior to my entrance. Wait....there is a massage chair and they don't even offer it to me but it's only for the employees while they are chilling???? Wtf???? Back to the price list. I see "Combo classic mani/pedi - $35". Back to Groupon. $39 for one mani/pedi. $75 for two mani/pedis. Are you with me so far? I ask the girl what the Groupon includes and she confirmed classic mani/pedi. I say that ridiculous. Why would I pay more? She has no idea what I'm talking about and tries to tell me that if I wanted gel polish I would have paid $20 more. Not a chance lady. She calls the manager and after going back and forward she hands me the phone. He first asks if I already bought the Groupon. Can I cancel and he'll honor the same price. I tell him I'm not concerned about that and want to what is included. He says I should have gotten the gel or powder nails and an upgraded pedi (maybe with the massage chair I'm thinking) but I should have made an appt for that and couldn't have just walked in. There's crickets behind me. Not one guest but whatever. He says I can come back another time and he'll honor the Groupon the right way. Fine. It's my fault for not asking and I'll own up to that so I pay the $35 price they have listed and say I'll be back. That takes me to today. I called and scheduled an appt this time and specifically tell them I have the Groupon. This time the manager that spoke to me the last time answered. He again asks if I can cancel the Groupon. I say no. Seated again at the same ol regular chair. I tell him I want Shellac gel nails like he told me I should have gotten before and he says that's an upgrade. I can do the powder nails. It lasts longer. I'm annoyed already but Okay. Here we go again. Lady starts running water for my pedi and now he takes lead on my nails. No relaxing again. This must be a regular thing at this salon. He immediately puts the base coat on my nails and starts dipping into the powder. Wait. Wtf???? Where is my relaxing manicure? The girls in my toes already has my old polish off. Can I at least soak my damn feet for a minute??? Im thinking what happened to the upgraded pedi? Didn't even get to finish that thought and this lady stabs my toe just below my nail! Holy f'ing crap! Instead of apologizing or pretending like she cared, she just responds "it's not bleeding yet". I was done with her. Told her to just stop and get away from me. She kept repeating that I wasn't bleeding yet. No but you did just do a good slice that felt like a 1000 papercuts. Pissed. I let the owner finish working on my fingernails since I was already filled with powder. I then ask him why I didn't get to get my nails trimmed/filed/my cuticles cut. He says this all happens at the end. Hmmm. Okay whatever. Worst place ever. Now it's time to run away. I figure I'll just cancel the dumb Groupon and just pay for this crap and run. This guy then becomes a comedian and tells me I owe him $50 for a BS "manicure". I almost lost it. Then I remind him of his employee stabbing me. I also remind him that the whole point of a mani/pedi is to relax and enjoy and everything was the opposite of that. He says it is what it is. $50. Remember, the Groupon for 1 mani/pedi is $39. I didn't have it in me anymore to argue with stupid. I left $40 and told the owner I would take all the time needed to write this review in hopes I prevent anyone from being scammed by his garbage Groupon deal. If you already have it, beware. They will try to push the $35 basic mani/pedi and tell you everything is is an upcharge. Call Groupon. They will let you get Groupon bucks back to use for something else. read more

Service was good for the price. Lady who served me was super sweet. However, she kept on pulling on the blister on my pinky toe with her tweezers when I got my pedicure. I told her to stop, but she probably didn't understand me. The blister started bleeding during the session, and it is now infected. read more

Hannah was kind, patient, and thorough, and the other employees were fantastic as well. AQ is AMAZING! I absolutely love the staff and quality of their work! They take their time and don't rush you out the door like most places. I've been going here twice a month for 2 years and absolutely love it here. They even have margaritas! Quan is the sweetest and he treats you like family. They did a terrible job the acrylic was literally dripping off of the brush before they applied it onto my nail the nail stayed on for less than 24 hours and it ripped off my friends natural nail and the skin that was under her like finger it was terrible everything was crooked there is acrylic still under the nail tips it is terrible there are not many workers they use dirty brushes like for each person to wash their hands it was just overall terrible. Super unprofessional all their hands were super dirty and had leftover filings from the other person all of the drill beds for the drill are nasty and filled in and are not sanitized they were not using gloves and brand new tools they were just using it over again and their tools were nasty. Me and my friend asked for Louis Vuitton stickers and they were like oh I'm so sorry we don't have those like your nail salon you should be able to have all the stuff. And they were playing like Netflix shows that they wanted to watch not their customers. It was super inappropriate there a sex scenes making out scenes etc. and especially whenever the guy was doing my nails he had leftover pink stuff from the last customer before me and he has gotten it on my white nails and all I can still see it from under my topcoat. Also the man had this clear thing full of monomer in it but it had stuff floating around in it and a lot of just random nasty stuff in it. He also had the dusting brush and it had random clumps of acrylic in it left over it was super unsanitary. There is leftover residue of acrylic on my literal finger/skin. And my friends lady rushed so fast. The guy also drilled basically on my skin to the point where my skin started burning. My friends lady got done with the nails in less than an hour. There are a literal clumps in my nails. My friends lady literally put the Louis Vuitton sticker crooked. The guy kept on touching my phone for the reference photo without my permission. And the man had a really bad attitude and he basically ripped my friend's hand from her to look at her nails. read more

Please save yourself your time and money and go to a better quality nail salon. I went in asking for a shellac manicure and regular pedicure. I clearly told the manicurist I wanted square even nails on both sides of my hands. I don't think that's a lot to ask for given that I paid 58 dollars for the worst shellac manicure and regular pedicure of my life! I pointed out to him that my nails are uneven and not square so he files one hand and not the other. I then request that he make them even and he file the other hand and still the left hand was drastically shorter. By the time he was done putting the shellac on, he files my nails again only on the left side,making it much shorter and then filed the top of the painted nail, after this he placed a clear coat. My left hand had three nails that were a completely different color because the shellac had been filed off. Then he had someone else do my pedicure and he had a woman he knew come in to do her nails and began talking about me in their language where it was obvious because she kept looking back at me. As for my toe nails they were filed down and completely crooked. I was so upset that the woman doing my pedicure asked what's wrong. I extended my hand and showed her my hands and she then happened to offer to fix my nails on my hands as I just didn't even care about my toes at that point anymore. It was so uncomfortable being there as they kept speaking in their language and all looking over to me. Please do not come here. This has been the worst nail salon experience I've had. Do not let yourself be pressured into paying for a service that is sloppy and unprofessional. Run, bike, or drive past this place as quickly as you can!!! read more

My brother and his wife gave me a Groupon for this location. I went today. I could have not been more disappointed. My 5 year old niece could have done a better job. I got a mani pedi. I was there for hour and half and couldn't even stand to be there for 5 minutes to let my nails dry because I was getting mad just looking at them. My toes are cut all wrong and look so bad. I seriously am shocked at how horrible it is. Like how is this place still in business!!! I am going to Walgreens now just so I can take them off right away and redo them. Oh and they also don't use new tools sanitized tools for each person. That already grossed me out! I will be sanitizing my toes and pray I don't catch any bacteria! Hate this place, never going back. Quan is so nice when you meet him but once he gets tired he has a big attitude as well as the other girls there. I would love to go to him to get my nails done but how am I supposed to enjoy getting my nails done when he's giving dirty looks & fusses. When I first started to go to AQ nails he would always offer me a drink & know he doesn't he doesn't even say "thanks bye" & i know it sounds kinda dumb but it's the little things that count. read more
