I had a young man come to my door selling pest control services. These people do a video of the sales transaction. All the information on the contract was incorrect, except for the credit card. I thought they told me that they were going to do a quarterly treatment and I understood payment on a quarterly basis was $79.00. Instead, they set me up for Pro and charged me $80.00 per month. I called about the charges to find out why I was getting charges. I never received a contract due to the email being incorrect and my name spelled incorrectly. It cost me $279.00 to cancel. They charged me yesterday for $80.00 for zero service and cancelation fee. They wanted to offer me a $29.00/month plan since I am a senior which should have been that way in the first place. It would save me money now, if I did not cancel. No pets and no real pest problem. They spray the trees. You don't want to deal with these people. These kids are running around having fun. I guess getting a paycheck. Big mistake on my part. I will never say yes to a person selling at my front door again!!!! read more

She argued with them about canceling her contract and they then went ahead and charged her over $650 after she got off the phone, which prompted another phone call. If i could i would give them negative stars. They are supposed to come out every 20 days. Nope day 30 and i had to schedule an appointment. It was scheduled on my off day for July 1st only to have it canceled by them without notifing me. They rescheduled it on there own for a day i was not available. I rescheduled it again for July 2nd from 8 to 12. Only for them to reschedule it to 8 to 4. Once again on their own. I called and spoke to corporate. They assured me someone would come to the home and do the outside. He then scheduled for a exterminator to be at my home on monday July 6 from 6 to 8 to do the inside. At 5 pm on july 2nd i was told that they could not make it, and we would have to reschedule. Once again they picked there own time of July 8th from 8 to 4 and deleted the monday appointment. The salesman came to the door and offered my wife service for exterminating the lawn, and he told her that she could cancel at any time. He told her that they were running a special, and she could have it done for $39.99. with a recurring monthly fee of $99.00 until she cancelled. He did not tell her that it was a 2-year term, and that she could only cancel for the following 3 days. So she agreed to what he told her and signed whatever they presented to her on their tablet. So we tried to cancel recently, now that we are going into winter we really don't need lawn pest control. That is when we found out that we have to pay 199.00 to cancel the contract early , but they told us that we could put it on hold for 3 months, so we said ok, do that thinking that they payments would stop for 3 months like any other service that you put on hold. A few days later they pulled 99.00 out of our account. We called and told them that we had agreed to put the service on hold, and they told us that yes, the service was on hold, so they wouldn't be coming out to do the yard, but that we still had to pay the monthly bill during that time. Now what kind of bs is that? Who agrees to stop a service for 3 mos, but continue paying for the service. Dishonest misleading company from the start. We had true green over the summer before these guys and had no kind of bs issues like this. If I could give these guys zero stars for their dishonest practices, I would! read more

I had previously used Aptive for yard work and they did a fairly good job with getting rid of the bugs in the grass. I discontinued my service during the winter as it wasn't needed. The following year I called Aptive again to resume for the warm weather. They were coming out every month snd charging me $150+ each visit. I reached out to them again when it got cold requested to suspend my service again. Little did I know they entered me into a 25 service agreement without my knowledge. When I requested to cancel, they bumped it down to 16 services and they went into my account and charged me $200 for cancelling. I had not given them authorization to go into my account. Don't give them your bank account info, nor credit card info if possible. I asked for a receipt for the unauthorized transaction and they ignored it. I don't recommend Aptive, as there are cheaper and more trust worthy companies. read more

We've been extremely satisfied with Aptive. The door salesman was how we discovered the company, and they were very polite. We knew that in Missouri you have to treat for ants and other insects. They're great about spraying indoors when needed. They knock down the wasp nests and spray those areas that need extra attention. We highly recommend them as they are always professional. read more

Make sure to watch your quarterly cycle. They will start coming earlier and earlier to the point you are paying for 6+ payments a year. The contract and website say 90 days but they started coming at 50ish even though they offer free re-treatments during your 90 day window. Even if you reschedule they still come and charge you. They will also come when it's pouring down rain and only stay for less than 5 minutes. read more

They are sending the manager this time so it better be done right. How do you pay for a bug exterminator and still have bugs and cobwebs everywhere all the time?! We had a subscription with this company for almost 2 years but decided to make a switch for personal reasons. I notified Aptive of our decision to cancel our contract in a very kind letter with thanks for the service rendered in the past. I received an e-mail back stating that it was necessary for me to have a phone call with a manager before they could cancel our contract. I'm very familiar with this "retention technique" as it is often employed by cable and satellite television services. Understandably, a company that depends upon subscribers wants to do everything possible to retain those subscribers and requiring a phone call often will result in discount offers and aggressive salesmanship to try and retain the account. However, the company CAN NOT make such calls mandatory and I have neither the time nor inclination to have such a call (I also avoid timeshare presentations and haggling with car salespeople like the plague, too). After explaining this to the company representative I was told a second time that a phone call was mandatory. Being thickheaded over this tells you a great deal about this company and their tactics. As of writing this review I have yet to receive confirmation of the cancellation. This is such a poor decision by the company because now I am motivated to write this negative review exposing this side of their behavior and I intend to publicize this in our neighborhood where they have so many customers. This is a competitive field and by treating me this way they have lost what would have been a recommendation and have turned me into a most definitely thumbs-down former customer. EDIT: After a third letter from me the company just confirmed cancellation. I trust they may think twice before stating a phone call is mandatory for cancellation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Starts off well - two techs cover whole house, inside garage, eaves, inside house, etc. That was the only good visit. One visit I had a tech spray for spiders in the basement. Started by spraying BASEBOARDS. I reminded him spiders are typically at ceiling level. He sprayed up high with something he wasn't sure of out of a can. The final visit before I cancelled, the tech texted me his arrival. One minute later he texted he was finished. So was I. I called and complained, sent an email to cancel. They still charged me $189 for the one minute "service". They said they would come out and respray - I declined. Thought it was over. Two months later they want to come out. Retold them the story, cancelled "officially" and they charged me $199 early termination fee. I had more bugs after I contracted them, then before. Terrible customer service! I'm confident whoever is answering the phone at their call center isn't paying any attention to what you're asking because they repeat the same mistakes every time! In particular, my request for technicians to spray on Saturdays so I could be home to let them treat the inside (they will normally only settle for spraying outside at full price if you let them). They've gotten this wrong single time! Every. Single. Time. This last time (after rescheduling for a Saturday between 8am - 12N) I got up at 7am and waited for them to show. Nothing. I called at 11:00 and was assured I was up next. I was hoping to join my daughter and her fiancé pick out tuxes for their upcoming wedding but had to miss it. I finally gave up around 12:30 and met them for lunch. I got a call from the technician shortly before 2:00 saying he was on his way but didn't have the equipment necessary to spray inside. He said he'd go ahead and spray outside at no charge because he was so late and comp the next service as well. I got the bill in my email an hour later. Full charge. I'm done!! read more

After a couple years of using Aptive, please don't! There are better options out there that are more honest and reachable. We have bugs everywhere all the time. Cobwebs all the time. We get quarterly treatments for $110 each so why do we always have so many bugs? I've watched some pretty dishonest things on my cameras, such as technicians taking down cobwebs then leaving without spraying. Monty was my favorite but I haven't seen him in awhile. It's a big corporate thing now so when I call the local office I get a national number. There are more responsible local options. Don't use these guys. read more

They were very good in explaining what they were going to do, the effect each type of insecticide/pesticide had on the bugs and how often should different areas be treated. This was a very good team. Manipulative, lairs first they will come to your door and tell you that they will treat your whole house and yard for 20 dollars and then it will be 30 dollars every month there after then they show up and charge you 90 dollars they say its because they supposedly told me that its 30 dollars a month but they only come every 3 months well that would be okay but then how come I got 2 90 dollar charges on my account from and one 20 dollar charge for the first service $20 -july 23rd (initial fee) $90 sept. 14th (1st quarterly treatment ) nov. 19th $90 at this point I am fed up because I may not be a genius but I'm not stupid either and I know that when the kid came and explained this to me he said it would be $30 per month implying that i would be getting some kind of monthly service not 90 quarterly thats not why I'm upset though I'm upset because although I felt wronged if I remember right I was in the middle of like 3 projects trying to make a living selling some home made furniture since my job was lost back in April because of covid and I was (still am) stressed about money but my fiancée kept complaining about finding bugs in the house and well 30 dollars a month to make her happy is a no brainer but that's where my real issue is that between July 23rd and nov 19th just under 4 months call it 4 months I have had these ppl put here 3 times and been charged 200 but I was told 30 a month and the first service I'm getting for a discounted 20 dollars so 4 ×30=120 -10= 110 so why are they charging me 90 dollars every like 45 days??? Then as if to spit in my face when I called them to tell them I would need to discontinue my service they tell me I can't because I signed a contract and there for If I want to quit I must pay them like another $250 or something crazy to cancel why would I be able to afford that? If I can't afford 90 every month and a half! And now I still get calls from. Them about 3x a week looking for 250 dollars 'll tell you what they definitely taught me my lesson about actually reading things through before I sign them... BE CAREFUL!!!! Oh and honestly the only time I ever saw them treat my house was the first day when they did it the same day other than that the second time I was out of town and the third time I was at the store and rushed home as soon as they called me to tell me they were on there way it took me about 20-25 min to get there but once I was there I never even saw anyone from aptive stop by so they either no showed and charged me 90 dollars or they called me to say they'd be there in 5-10 hopped out ran around the house with there finger on the sprayer and finished within max 10 min , .... hmm damn now that I think about it 90 dollars for 10 min of work... $540 /hr!!! Fantastic service if you want to to have to constantly check their work and have them come out over and over to redo their work. I started recently with them because the price seemed good. They will high-ball the crap out of you, then do the whole "Well I really like you, so I'll give you a really good discount." The first service was very half-a**. They are supposed to do a full interior and exterior treatment. They didn't. They did my upstairs, but completely ignored the basement. But I didn't say anything, I'm trying to pick my battles. And they come out every quarter anyway, so I figured they could just do it then. The first quarterly treatment was even worse. I have cameras all around my house. So I could see that all they did was my front patio. They didn't touch the sides or back of the house at all. I called them and had them do a reservice. And they said they would send someone out in a few days. They did send someone out. But it was just to brush the cobwebs. They didn't do any of the spray that they were supposed to do. I called back again and the guy I talked to had a very strong "Whatever" attitude. They scheduled another reservice. But he was very annoyed and kept asking me why I was upset. "We didn't lie to you. The technician said in his notes, that he only did the front. So he didn't lie". So they see nothing wrong with their technicians not doing their jobs, as ling as they tell the company that they didn't do their job. But nobody reached out to me to tell me that the job hadn't been complete. If I hadn't checked myself, there would have been no follow up. Honestly, if I'm going to have to go around the house and check with each service, and check again after each reservice, it would be far easier to just do it myself. When I answered the door,and he started spouting some bullshit about the department of agriculture and my neighbors he was working with, I asked if he saw the sign. He looked dumbfounded and started spouting some bullshit about the department of agriculture. And I've been very happy with their service ever since. They come every 3 months and are so thorough. They are the best at clearing all the cob webs from the house and knocking off all the wasp nests that like to be build on my back deck. Today Tyree Thompson came for my Spring service and since this time he was spraying the inside of my house, I got a chance to chat with him more. They're liars out to keep charging you monthly when you signed a contract to come quarterly. you Get text messages with scheduled appointments I never made. They keep making monthly appointments for me then charge my CC. Terrible company and they count on you not holding for over 30 minutes to call customer service to cancel the appointment they made for me. every time they make an appointment for me I have to call and hold for over 30 minutes to cancel.
