Charged me 75$ a month and tell me pest control not included, only for mosquito services I did not request and/or agree to. CHARGING MID WINTER IN THE SNOW FOR MOSQITO Serivices and when I checked onlline I had a ZERO BALANCE. They then charged me 200$ for pest control services under a different account!! I called Orkin to come out to get rid of some small black bugs that fly, and the person that came out didn't look for the source of how they get in, sprayed something in the basement and left. Set me up for a monthly, but said to call if they needed to come back before the month was up. I called, made an appointment that didn't work out, and when I called again to have them come back, I was told that since it was a new month, they would be charging me. Talked to Chuck. He didn't want to listen to me regarding coming back out, only wanted to charge me. Very poor customer service. Apparently they aren't worried about losing customers because when I said to cancel all service, he just said ok. Fine by me, I will never use or recommend them in the future. read more

My husband and I had Orkin out to inspect some possible termites at our home. The technician quoted us $6,000 for services and kept changing his story as to the details of the inspection. Thinking this sounded way too expensive, we had two other companies come out the next day. Both companies quoted us $650-a fraction of what Orkin was going to charge. We would not recommend Orkin--they definitely tried to scare us and scam us out of thousands of dollars. read more

I really liked Orkin. I used them for preventative termite control at two residences for probably 15 yrs off and on. When I moved to southwest Overland Park I kept the plan. Started off great. The last 3 yrs turned into a huge pain in the rear with service. They'd send someone out unannounced, find and reload "some" of the bait stations, and leave a message they didn't have their "locator" tool to find the rest. They wouldn't come back. I'd have to call and call and call to get somebody back out. Customer service was completely indifferent about the problem. Managers would call and promise me they'd not let it happen again. Of course the cycle repeated until I got frustrated and refused to pay for renewing what is truthfully a pre high cost annual maintenance plan. Kind of a shame, really. Orkin used to be really good. I'm done with them, and really wish they had stayed good at what they do. They just stopped being professional. I'm looking for a replacement. read more

I was charged for a service I did not get, and when I tried to talk to someone, no one would answer the phone. Not to mention I was sent another bill and they want me to pay that bill. Still no one will answer my phone calls to complain about this item. I will NEVER use orkin ever again!! Nor will I recommend them to anyone! Darren the tech was great. Worst experience, unprofessional, They don't return phone calls, won't refund money when they can't catch the mice, felt like the service men didn't have answers to any of my questions, manager won't return phone calls. Wouldn't recommend to friends or family. read more

I was an Orkin customer for over 6 years. However i was forced to cancel my account with orkin due to the absolute lack of customer service provided by the Overland Park, Ks. office. (I leave out your technicians from this complaint as they are very polite & thorough.) Over the past month, i have requested to speak with a manager at the Overland Park, KS office and have only spoken with receptionists. The manager or persons in charge never got in touch. Finally today when i called to follow up about cancelling my contract due to lack of customer service, i was informed by the receptionist that my contract was 'cancelled, refunded and orkin does not mail notices about the same' ! My bank statement does not reflect a refund yet. Its a shame as all i was calling customer service was to enhance my contract ... I will NEVER refer Orkin to anyone again. I called Orkin this morning an appointment was scheduled for 4pm to 7pm today. I turned away two other companies. At 5ish, a sales rep called and asked if I wanted to schedule services. Her name was "Tamara". I told her that I had an appointment. She said she was calling response to a web inquiry. I said I made an appointment based upon a call that morning from them in response to my web inquiry. She put me on hold for about five minutes and came back and confirmed the appointment. At 7:05, no one had shown up. I called them back and got Tamara again. She told me there was nothing she could do. After talking with her for about ten minutes, she kept saying, "I understand your frustration but there is nothing I can do." I finally asked to talk to a customer service supervisor. She put me on hold for five minutes and I had to listen to their tape of how wonderful they were. Finally, I got "Pam" who said that there was nothing she could do. She said she was sorry. By that time, I realized that I had been hoodwinked and said that her company had wasted three hours of my life and she said, "You're taking this personally". Well, it is personal. She refused to send me any information by e-mail or fax and was very rude and did not care about what they had done. She supposedly "sent a complaint", but I don't want a complaint, I want a technician and three hours of my life not to have been wasted. read more
